Hello 2p2ers,

I consider myself as rec player and usually play on weekend only. I started play NLHE in October 2014 in Vegas. Since then, I’m addicted to Poker. I have logged about 1100 hours for 1/2, 1/3 and 2/5 games so far, but I’m still a losing poker player. I like to chase draw and gamble (I’m Asian :P). I can play solid poker for 8 hours and build a deep stack and then bluff them away in a couple hands.

The purpose for this thread is to remind myself play less spew and be discipline and I will post hands to get advice/opinion.

My poker goal for 2016:

-Break even poker player.

Hand 1,

V(400 MP),50s white man, regular. Complaining to dealers about bad cards all session.

Hero(BTN,800): TAG.

UTG opens to 20, V calls, hero calls on button with 55. SB calls.

FLOP:965r.
Check, check check, hero bets $65. SB tank calls. V all in. Hero tank calls. SB folds. My set holds.

Hand 2:

V(UTG,400): OMC.

V limps, 3 more limper, Hero raises to 25 with KQo, V sigh calls. 2 more caller.

FLOP: Q96r. Hero bets 80. V calls.
Turn: 2d. Hero bets 200.

I put V on queen now. AQ possible, but still think he can fold his AQ since I play so tight.
He goes all in for 100 more and says"your over pair is good". Hero cry calls 100 more. V has AQ and scoop the pot.

Hand 3:
V(UTG,900):Tight player. He only played one hand in three hours. TPTK on flop with nut flush draw. all in on flop against a LAG and doubled up.

V raises 20 UTG, 4 callers. Hero raises to 150 with AA. V 4b to 300. fold to hero. Hero calls(3 raises cap).
FLOP:A35.
Hero bets 500. V all in for about 100 more. Hero calls. V has AKo.

Good luck!! Think of poker as a business. Ask yourself when your drawing: is this a smart business decision? If your not getting correct odds to call then fold. Make smart business decisions. Never set mine unless stack sizes dictate that it's the right play. Winning poker players don't gamble. They get in on draws only when the equity is right compared to pot size. If you cannot be disciplined your wasting your time and $. Good luck
