No, there's a few reasons why I shouldn't be doing that. Sorry but anything that would be a detriment I'll have to leave out unfortunately.

I know cash can be a grind but I don't know why the hell you mess with tournaments at all. Nice hit!

I know you won't get into specifics, but do you play in a capped or uncapped game? I'm assuming uncapped but I could be wrong.

Yeah tournaments are a joke. I think I feel obligated to play them bc that was my main game online. I'm v close to breakeven this year and I've put up almost 6 figs in buyins so far.

Some 5/10 games are uncapped and almost all 10/20+ is uncapped.

The fact you're even in $100k of tournaments this year is a win in my book.

Stay off the poker crack, yo.

Your thread is amazing; really enjoy the stories and daily updates!

Could you walk us through some of the biggest hands you have played in tourneys and cash? It could be hands from 10 years ago or yesterday.

Keep crushing!

Mitchell part 2

Mitchell's family had money and he always wore expensive clothes and cared about the way he looked. He drove a stick shift and would always keep a spare set of driving shoes to keep his new pairs from getting a crease from pushing in the clutch. Once we started hanging out a lot I valued this stuff way more and spent a lot more money on it. I would only wear button-up shirts that were designer brands when we went out and I would get them dry cleaned. If I went and played a live tournament I would always wear a shirt that had never been worn before. I don't think it was a superstition I just was very irresponsible with money and liked shopping for new clothes. Similiarly I would buy dozens of pairs of shoes and always had several pairs that hadn't been worn yet. When I did wear a pair of shoes that I liked I would buy a second pair in the same color for when those got old looking. If I had a date I would never wear clothes that had been worn before, everything had to be brand new. I'd get manicures and get at least two haircuts every week. Me and Mitchell would always laugh about the way poker players dressed and we were both very vain.

Mitchell had been dating the same girl for a number of years. She was always at his apartment even though she still lived with her parents. They would fight like crazy and throw things. They'd often break up and get back together again.

Once I went over to the apartment to bring something for Mitchell. I got out of my truck and started walking towards their place with the weed in a backpack. As I approach I hear yelling and I see them tumble out onto the front lawn out of the sliding glass door. They get up and then fall onto the hood of someone's parked car and start wrestling with each other. I immediately went back to my truck and got the **** out of there before someone called the cops.

At some point they broke up and Mitchell moved out of that apartment, she might've been helping him pay for it or something. He moved in with his parents and eventually they got back together and he lived at her parents house which was walking distance from my place.

She had a twin brother who lived in the basement. He had gotten some money from his older brother and didn't work. He sat at home all day and played Xbox and smoked weed. He had a big room in the basement with a bunch of fish aquariums and a fake wall where he had some plants. Mitchell convinced him to let him hold games over there but he hated Mitchell and there was a couple times where he would be losing in the game and kirk out and make everyone leave.

Since he couldn't hold games there he found all the home games in the area. I would go with him and we found a regular game that was mostly asian players. It was at a few different people's houses and the limits varied depending on who was hosting which night. Most of the time it would be at this guys house named Carl who was an engineer. He had a sword collection on display in the basement where he had the poker table. He would give loans to players in the game and I think Mitchell had slow payed him once or twice so he got cut off. He still got invited to the game but couldn't get loans anymore. Sometimes players would send him transfers on Ultimate Bet if they needed more chips.

One night Mitchell was on the couch waiting for a seat in the game. One of the players got felted and went to the computer with Carl to send him money online. Mitchell watched and saw him type in his password. There was a game at someone else's house every week and Mitchell would never want to go with me. I didn't understand why until later but he knew Carl would always be at that game. He would login to his Ultimate Bet account and play blackjack. He would continue doubling the bet until he won and then transfer the winnings to his own account so the balance would be the same once Carl got home. This went on for weeks until one day I show up at the game and Carl was livid. He told us how he logged into his account and his balance was $0. He said he emailed Ultimate Bet and was waiting for them to conduct the investigation. On the way home that night Mitchell told me that it was him. He said he kept losing and increasing his bet size until he reached the max bet. Once he did that he started playing multiple hands until he felted the entire account, I think it was around 6k. He also said that he had done some transfers to my account as well. Mitchell was a huge riggie so he would switch accounts if he was running bad.

These games were quite good and I wanted to continue playing in them. We decided that Mitchell would just disappear and I would tell the truth and say it was him and hopefully they would allow me to keep playing. That didn't work and Carl banned both of us from his game because he didn't believe me. He had gotten the list of all the screen names that received transfers and saw mine on there. I could still go to the other games but they were smaller and not as good.

He found another game where the host, Martin would always brag about how much money he had on stars and full tilt. Mitchell wanted to dangle him off the balcony and get him to tell us his passwords and then dump the money before we left but I didn't want any part of that. Martin would always win a huge pot when the dealers changed and then leave with his girlfriend. I was convinced they were cheating and stopped playing there.

With not being able to play at the best home games around we mostly played online in between casino trips. When Full Tilt launched I remember going over to his girlfriends house one day and firing up some tournaments. He was broke and in debt to me so he was just railing and getting drunk and stoned. I went deep in a $100 6max tournament on a weekday. Every time I had a close decision he would blurt out "shove" or give me some unsolicited advice. If I did something other than what he recommended he would tell me how I had made the wrong play. It was getting increasingly annoying as he drank more but I ran good and got heads up. Before I started the match I told him not to say anything or give me any advice. I won 1st place for 7k and he immediately asks me to relieve him of his debt to me which was between 2-3k. I refused and said he put up $0 why would I ever do that. He claimed that since he was giving me advice during the tournament he was entitled to something. I told him that I didn't ask for his advice and that I would've come to a lot of the same conclusions with or without him there. He begged me for at least a partial relief of his debt but I wouldn't budge. Next time we went to meet his cousin I fronted him his portion at cost so he would stop badgering me about it.

Op sick giraffe and sick thread overall.

A few questions. How many days a week you play on average and how many hours a day?

Do you do any after game studying? How do you improve your game?

I've played just over 1200 cash hours since the first of the year. I don't have any type of set schedule and I'm not studying anything or improving my game.

Do you have much history with big winning and losing sessions? How do you feel after losing $11k in a session? Is that devastating or can you just brush it off as to be expected at the stakes you're playing?

How do you feel after losing $11k in a session? It really depends but it's never fun. If I lose a lot of money I'm always pretty steamed up. It always hurts more when you've already been getting crushed for weeks or months prior
Is that devastating or can you just brush it off as to be expected at the stakes you're playing?I guess for me I have a process for dealing with it. I go over the session in my head and it's a lot easier to let go if I'm happy with my own decision making. If I feel like I did Smth bad it tends to haunt me a bit. The next day I'm usually fine, only in extreme circumstances do I have to take a day off or Smth bc I'm tilted from a big loss
.
