Hi all,

Figured I'd try to drum up some interest (inspiration taken from AgentDuque, who's certainly the forefather of this genre) for the US-based MTT grind by starting one of these.

I'm a 22 year old US MTT grinder. I didn't know what poker/nlhe was until I was playing Far Cry 2 and saw that there was a poker minigame available in game. I didn't really understand the rules or what was going on, so I taught myself the game and began playing $5 cash games with friends (none of whom knew what poker was either). We were all typically quite inebriated during these sessions, and had a blast (or at least I did). It was addicting.

Fast forward to Sept. 2014: I was beginning my final year of university and didn't have many classes, so I deposited $300 or so on Bovada, ran it down to $0 playing strictly for fun until October. At that point, all I had was a freeroll ticket, which I used to cash for $60. I put $55 of it on a 10k gtd tourney, which I shipped for some amount in the 1.5-2.5k realm.

From here, I used very nitty bankroll management and played various $109-$215 tourneys. This allowed me to ship the $215 50k for ~14k. At this point, I decided I wanted to take MTTs quite seriously and become extremely good at them. I began studying the game format intensely and have been grinding since, producing some good results.

I only have one goal/challenge for myself: to play MTTs on Bovada as best I possibly can, and see what unfolds.

I'll detail my adventures/progress in this thread, and hopefully it can provide some fun/entertainment for those that follow it.

Very funny start to tonight's grind--in the $55 30k, got coolered on the second hand leaving me at 1/5th starting stack which I luckbox grinded back up to a full starting stack.

then, in a limped pot that was my big blind, I arrive at the turn with 5 high and a 4 high flush draw. short stack limps and I misclick call...and get there obvi.

papaya hand lotion effectively earned me 10bb at 50/100. i'm that sick.

haven't played as much as usual this week (real world activities took precedence over poker ones temporarily) but i'll be grinding the usual nightlies + the 2 SMPOs tonight

also began getting back into a bit of weights/cardio (running in my case) this week which has been a more recent goal of mine as my exercise routine really fell to ruin after I began grinding harder and harder. i have 0 desire to let my health fall by the wayside as I grind this next year, so I want to fix this laziness before it gets worse

massive pot to make me chip leader in 15k. had been abusing bubble for a very long time to no resistance. guy finally 4b jams over my 3b and i snap QQ.

So that graph said you've won 40k since sept of last year? is that correct? nice brag if so.

35k going by graph, from Dec. 2014 to now. From Sept. 2014-Dec. 2014 I just made minor profit grinding whatever games I played back then.

Bear in mind that's just MTTs, and I used to play HU cash and HU sng--I'm definitely a lifetime loser in the former and a lifetime winner in the latter (but I never played higher than $52.50s on a regular basis so I imagine there's not a ton of relative impact)
