So yeah, I decided to make this thread to help me with motivation for next years grind. 2013 was OK for me, I made a little under 40k across all sites. However I can't help but feel it was a year of missed opportunities for a midstakes MTT grinder like myself. I got 10th in the Sunday Milly after being chip leader with 18 to go, 9th in the bigger 109 and just took 13th in the $250k on Full Tilt. All three tournaments can be year defining tournaments for players and are largely decided by a couple of hands/coolers.

I'm SeeYouAnte18 on stars, which is pretty much where I play all tournament poker. I play a little bit of rush on FT, so that will go towards it, but it's more just to keep me sharp post flop (would recommend this for mtt players)

I am currently backed, and am happy with that but due to my aims, I guess I would like to establish my own roll at some point as I go on to reach my target.

maintain updates in one of these


I want to use this money to go and do some future projects, largely travel.

Poker is a pretty unique lifestyle as we all know. It's opened some fantastic opportunities for me already, however I can't help but feel a little empty about it sometimes. I think this is largely because I don't find poker particularly rewarding in terms of what I give back to society. So in short I guess I want to go on to do something more rewarding.

Yeah definitely. I guess this ties in a bit with the above answer; I want to do some volunteering abroad and see what's out there. I have a few friends who teach English as a foreign language so I'd definitely consider that as well. Current places I'd want to go are; Thailand, Brazil and Africa. Recommendations are welcome!

Off to a winning start on day 1 with a day saving 4th and 5th in two of the last tournaments I regged. +$600, although I still have to clear some make up.

No sngs, been putting in pretty long sessions ending in 45 mtts per session on average.

Got 2nd in the 22c on like my 2nd day but been pretty grim since. Played really good today, just need to get 2/3 outered less which will come in time.

Hoping to put in a session on Friday and then get pretty drunk on my birthday on Saturday!

Got 3rd in the $55 that starts 2 hours after the bigger 55 for $6.4k, played really good throughout and took myself within 1k of getting out of make up! Shipped a $3+r for a little under 4k before the weekend.

576 tournaments played on stars this year, 52.41% ROI and $9k profit. 19/27 days played and hit 7500 VPPs today.

Pretty pleased with the opening month so far but room for improvement on the results side.
