Yeah I'll have a squat stand with spotter arms, a bench, barbell and enough weights to go up to 400, then I'm going to build a deadlift platform. I may add a curl bar and dumbbell bars soon too. I'll have $25 off two separate orders at Dicks Sporting Goods, so I have to decide what the best purchase is.

Lucky SOB, well done on that end, seems legit. If you happen to have thick sheet metal lying around, you can use two of them to distribute the weight. Essentially a McGuyver'ed platform. A true platform is better obviously.

Thanks! Pics will be coming once it's set up. No thick sheet metal laying around. They're actually relatively easy to make, and way way cheaper than buying one.

I am surprised that your apartment has cleared a squat rack. Seems like a huge liability. Not to mention that your neighbors will hate you.

Did you get bumper plstes?

Didn't ask. It's not explicitly forbidden in the lease. I got rubber coated 45s, the rest are regular plates. The only neighbors for whom noise could be an issue are the ones a floor below me, really, and I'm building a platform. I probably won't be going for many 1 rep maxes here or anything, because I don't want to be dropping weights or slamming them down.

As long as you don't deadlift at 1am, you will probably be fine. A platform will distribute the weight. There are heavier people walking around in a building on their little feet that a bar with bumpers on a platform should be ok. You can always get another pair to spread out the weight even more.

Yeah, all of my 45s (6) have rubber coating - they aren't true bumper plates, but they're rubber coated. So everything hitting the floor/platform is coated. For now I don't have the platform built yet, but I'm also doing 95% of my lifting between 12pm and 5pm, so for the most part people won't be home and most likely not asleep.

I have at long last revealed my identity on TwoPlusTwo, but I'd still ask that you keep my last name out of this thread. You can call me Ryan, though, or stick to the screen name. Since I now have a coaching ad on TwoPlusTwo, I wanted prospective students to be able to know who I was.

I've always said that I don't intend to use this thread as a tool to promote my coaching business, and that's still the case. I'll post the link in here once and that's it. If people ask, I'll direct them over there (as long as I've still got the ad up - I'm testing it out for a month to see how it works).

So, here's the link: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/16...-boss-1581101/

Otherwise, this thread will still be the same - I may discuss coaching from a business side, just like I talk about wanting to start an online business, or I might discuss it if it impacts me at the tables, but that's about it.

I haven't used super likes before. I'm not even really sure how they work...

Thanks, appreciate it! Ah, the Aussie girl, that was a fun night lol... If I recall, my Tinder strategy then was swipe right en masse, then unlike the ones who matched who I wasn't into. I'd just be playful and flirtatious and try to grab a drink. Probably not the best strategy (I have a friend who used to just crush Tinder with a ballsy approach), but it worked that time.

Actually, it may be time to brush up on my Tinder game soon, but we'll see.

Swiping right en masse then unliking the uggo's is a solid strategy.

I used to play a nice guy style, but lately I'm developing the LAG portion of my repertoire. Gotta be able to change gears!

This had me rollin. Well played lol.

You guys need to get on the next level - It's all about Bumble. Giving the females the option to initiate causes all the hotties to flock their to avoid the creepos.

2016 Week 2 Results: January 8-14

I had a horrible week with poker volume and a great week with fitness. I had some distractions off the table that I couldn't block out well enough to put in volume, which is something I need to work on - although I'm not really sure how. Some research may be in order.

The home gym setup is awesome, though, as far as the continued efforts to get into shape. I still need to get the deadlifting platform built and set up, though.

I think breaking it down into one week is going to pay dividends now - before, a lost week like this could easily turn into a lost month as my goals slipped away a bit. Now it's just a bad week and I can turn the page. My missed volume will likely keep me from playing a really good value tournament at SugarHouse this weekend, as I'll be grinding cash instead... So that little rule I added is coming into effect early.

[11.5/50] Play 50 Hours of Live Cash

[0/5] Study Poker for Five Hours

[Y] Spend 2+ Hours on Launching an Online Business

[3/3] Lift Three Times

[3/4] Do Something Active on 75% of Non-Lifting Days

[Y] Spend 1 Hour on Coaching Business

2016 Week 3 Goals: January 15-21

I have a big broadcast that's going to be on TV in NYC and Philadelphia on Tuesday, so that'll impact my volume on Monday and Tuesday, hence the goal for 40 instead of 50 this week.

[ ] Play 40 Hours of Live Cash

[ ] Study Poker for Five Hours

[ ] Spend 2+ Hours on Launching an Online Business

[ ] Lift Three Times

[ ] Do Something Active on 75% of Non-Lifting Days

Great posts. I was hoping to make it up to the winter open events and cash games up there, but my bankroll just went in a slide and I was going to stick to my plan. Usual stuff happened last night (Charles town wv) my AA cracked by 99, 12 out draws missing, my KK felting me on river A against an A5 off suit to my left who raised on bb 7$ (he was raising every hand pf), I limped shoved, he called of course. Should I have raised half my stack then shoved post flop?
Running bad, taking time off...
Thanks again for your postings, they give me encouragement!
