The rent here is something like 2.3k each for the month, so about 11.5k overall for the place. Honestly, there's better value to be had on villas here, we've basically been scammed at every opportunity. They charged us for a heap of extra's they've not really delivered on and they've been really pushy about taking cash.... honestly i don't like the owners here at all, but what can you do.

So...........

Another month in the books, again kinda disappointed, but obviously the horror session at 5k was going to have a big impact on things





Things going great in Thailand, had a sick last few days - we took a day trip to Koh Phagnan for Frank's birthday, ended up skipping the boat back and getting a hotel for the night so we could chill for longer at the beach. Went to a decent rave out in the jungle, military police raided at like 1am and tried to shut it down, but after some discussion and i'm sure some money changing hands it was all chill. Got up the next after a few hours sleep and went with Ricky to explore another beach that you can only get to by taxi-boat which was sick. Spent the rest of the day just eating/recovering/getting a massage before heading back to Samui on the boat. I'm yet to start the December grind, but hoping to put in some decent hours and save the year as much as I can. The way things went for me, this year was never going to be about maxing out my bottom line, but with that said my results have been underwhelming to say the least, $200k year is clearly not going to happen at this point.... But hey ho, I've gone from bumhunting 400nl to regwarring 1k+ and I'm sure I'm holding my own, so reasons to be positive. That reminds me actually, I'm closing in on 100k hands of 5/10 played:



I think this month I'm going to try and get set up on a few other sites, I've been exploring the sites that aren't stars and generally finding the lineups much softer, so I think it's at least worth some further investigation.

Genuinely one of the most satisfying days I've ever had playing poker today, felt worthy of a mid-month update:



Stayed chilled, played a heap of hands and played decently well. Hopefully a sign on things to come for the month Games already looking pretty sick, think the milestone hands are doing their job, but also the lineups at 1k have been better than average recently. Happy days

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....

Last few weeks in Thailand were absolutely sick. Stevie and Frank both had groups of mates out to visit, so I got to meet a bunch of new people and have some fun times. Journey home pretty much went off without a hitch, I'm now back in Inverness where I'll stay for the next 3 weeks, before flying out to PCA on the 5th! Really excited for it, never been before and everyone I've spoken to says it's awesome. Going to work pretty hard while I'm there, playing quite a few bigger tournaments, so hopefully after not cashing a live MTT in 2014 I can get 2015 off to a flier!

Had a weird day today - games were great and I think I played well, but lost about 3 stacks of evbb..... fortunately I just won every allin pre. TT>JJ (HU), QQ>KK btn vs co, AQo>KK btn vs BB... It was ****ing nuts. So I'm left with a very cool graph:



Pretty sick, one of my best days ever while losing at 11.4evbb/100.

It's looking like the games are going to be incredible for the rest of the year. Quite a few regs (including a well known stars pro) have backed themselves into a corner and now need to 16+ table highstakes to finish off SNE.... That's something very few people (I'd say 2) can do profitably, so hopefully I can put myself in some good spots, get lots of action at 2k and maybe collect some tilt dollars

Do you think that stars pro is usually a solid winner in those games? I always hear such mixed reviews about his play. Gl at pca, that place always sounds like a fun trip.

I do not. I think the game nano plays will smash up most small/midstakes lineups, but vs higher level players I don't think you can get away with what he tries to do.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,

I've been putting off updating for a bit as I didn't want to get the brag-jinx (obv). But things have been absolutely mental since getting back on the grind in inverness. I caught some insane heat in the 5k games running around a well-known chinese player, and won back all my loses at 25/50 on the year. 10/20 has also been going much better.





As you'll see, I actually hit 100k for the month a couple of times, but I managed to convince myself to grind on as games this time of year are usually great. Unfortunately that's not gone so well and I've lost some back.... but yeah. It feels great after so long winning at 3/6 and 5/10 (only to dump it back at 2k+) to have hit such an incredible heater in my biggest games. For a long time I kinda wondered if I was being an idiot trying to mix it with some of the biggest names in online poker, obviously these results on their own don't mean a thing, but it feels like a vindication of my decision to keep jumping back in the big games after so many beatdowns.

I'll post a full yearly graph and a breakdown of my thoughts on the year/plans for next year once I've played the 29th and 30th. Before then, I'm going to Carnoustie with my Mum, brother and his GF for the next 3 days to play some golf, chill in the spa and generally have some family time. Feels like I need the break after a very intense 9 days grinding, so hopefully I can attack the last 2 days of my playing year when I get home.
