Sooooo Miami was unbelievably sick. So, so good. On the wednesday night I was on my spanish school night out and had a great time. Didn't even have time to lie down, packed a bag whilst extremely drunk and managed to bundle myself on the plane. Travelled with Kev aka Torino2000, Scott aka AggroSantos and Mikey aka TVD/YouKnwMyName, we met up with Fintan aka EasyWithAces in Miami who'd flown over from Dublin for the festival. Obviously I'm seriously lacking sleep at this point, but was pretty easily convinced to go out for drinks after dinner, ended up in a pretty cool sports kinda bar playing pool till around 2am.

Woke up on the Friday and had steaks for breakfast in a really nice restaurant (Mikey has photos, I obv forgot my phone charger so don't have any) before having a few drinks and heading over to downtown for Ultra. The two Irish lads brought heaps of flags with them, plus I was wearing my kilt so as a group we were basically getting approached by randoms every second which was awesome banter. We pretty much stayed at the main stage for the whole day iirc, Tiesto closed which was awesome. Saturday we spent a bit of time at some of the smaller stages (after Nicky Romero who was amazing), then saw Deadmau5 closing in place of Avicii, who was ill. I'm a huge deadmau5 fan so I absolutely loved it, amazing set. On Sunday the main highlight for me was Chase and Status, they were playing the live stage which was like an amphitheater with seats, kinda took away from the atmosphere a bit cause you couldn't move around that much, but that didn't stop me headbanging like an absolute maniac, Scott has a hilarious video of me completely losing my **** to 'Flashing Lights', wild scenes.

All in all just an incredible long weekend. No idea how I managed to go so crazy for so long. Every day was like a heavy drinking session, I haven't done more than 2 nights in a row in years, let alone 5. Got back to playa lateish on Monday and told myself I was on the health grind for a few weeks....... then last night we ended up going out and having 4 bottles of belvedere between 5 of us in a nightclub, after drinks with dinner and mojitos in a bar haha.... However, my Mum is out to visit me for 2 weeks just got here tonight, so definitely going to knuckle under, get some good hours in and repair my broken mind/body. It's been awesome to party so hard, but I've easily spent $3k+ in the last week (vodka+mixer in Ultra was $12 and we were just downing them haha) so feeling very ready to put some work in.

Aiming for 75k hands this month, have joined the SSFR volume prop and am betting with Glanza_Schwarzenegger for some extra motivation. Have been playing a little 1kNL over the last few days (<1k hands) but the swings are feeling quite huge so will probably drop it for now.

very nice, saw some videos of Ultra miami and would have loved to been there. From what you say and what I hear it seems like a pretty sick experience. Without any indiscretion how much do you think, (flying from london) a trip like that would cost? In a decent/good hotel and a decent amount of money for expenses? I guess for 4 days/night in miami?

We spent 4 nights and booked our hotel around 1 month in advance. Prices had been jacked up just for the weekend, think we got a pretty poor deal on our place tbh. I think we spent around $400 each on our hotel, then tickets were around $500, flights around $400 plus spending money....
So yeah. We spent an absolute fortune just yoloing around going to nice restaurants and downing $13 vodkas once we'd finished the drink we smuggled in. Honestly I have no idea how much the weekend cost me in total, think it would be around $3k, but you could definitely do it cheaper if you planned a bit in advance and didn't get an attack of the yolos

So the month has started off pretty well I guess, put in some semi-respectable volume and feeling pretty good about where my game is. I played a little 1kNL but the swings were feeling pretty huge and I was struggling to get in the games, so I'm going to drop it for now.

Unfortunately I haven't been running too great, I'm running at 8.6evbb/100 but down $1.2k for the month, basically running hot lower and not so great higher. I'm checking results in session and stuff again, but honestly it's not really bothering me much at all. I'm about the last guy with license to complain about running bad anyway, just gonna keep my head down and grind through. My mum is out for a visit atm, so I've got a good excuse to avoid the fiesta for a while and get some volume in

Poker has also picked up, managing to grind fairly decent volume and winrate still looking good. It's strange cause I feel like I'm running bad, but it could well just be cause I've not played this much volume in a fair while and I've forgotten how many big pots you lose in 10k hands haha. Just today I had KK<AA vs droller fish, second nut flush vs nut flush also vs fish for 200bb, and two set over sets. Though I did make quads v nut boat so I guess it's all swings and roundabouts
