Thanks for sharing that post, I am using meditation myself daily too, can you share what you're doing in terms of times of day, time spent per session, time you wake up/ sleep etc. You mentioned you can do it for a long time now, anymore details on the subject would be fascinated to here more!

I find my thoughts similar to yours in my limited reading of this thread. I constantly question some of those things, how? Look at the stars and think it. Stuff like that always makes me think I need to scramble for answers and obtain as much knowledge as I can about the past in hopes to unmask some answers. I mean, I do look at our existence as a science project. Everything is made from nutrients; water, the elements, the sun, yadda yadda. In that sense, it's like things compounded and formed from the Earth's offerings, or in a larger sense, our galaxy's offerings. I think back to a TED talk I listened to where the author states that we are fish. Simply because, I guess as science suggests, were the first animal to have a backbone. One day a fish migrated onto land, it may have taken a long time and many attempts, but eventually, one of them became a land animal and reproduced(sounds ****ed up but this is how I interpreted it all). I saw a video of a fish jumping ashore on television that pretty much mimicked what the TED talk stated. It may not have shown the fish to human transformation on that show I saw but it showed a fish successfully get from water to land and survive, grow, and evolve, I guess. ****ed up ****. So, ya, enlightenment, I think I seek it all the time.

I have given meditation attempts but nothing has stuck for me yet. Some people swear by it. But, I do some small meditation. Relaxed breathing, awareness, stretching, just trying to be mindful and enlightened but I haven't got the Wim Hof stuff to stick just yet

cheers. Let's all crush **** today, be enlightened, mindful, beasts, all that stuff
It really depends how you define God. But most likely according to most definitions, which assume some kind of avatar, there is no God. If you think God in terms of emptiness, unmanifested, then thats perhaps closer.

If you are interested in the mysteries of the universe I recommend you to read Mastering The Core Teachings of the Buddha.

Yup was very transforming when I read it for the first time, thopugh nowadays I think of it as quite limited so people should read it knowing that.

Yes, get yourself the Mind Illuminated. Everything is in there!

Other than that little update:

Im taking some time off of poker since I notice that battling highstakes is so much fun and the money is so good that its so easy to fall back into the old grind/hustle mode. It was extremely hard to stop playing/studying just for one day but I managed

But yeah I felt like it was distracting me from whats actually important which is why I decided to take a week or so off and clean my mind and chill, probably going to some island retreat for a couple days with my gf.

As stated above recommend everyone reading Mastering The Core Teachings of the Buddha by Daniel Ingram. And also check out this video if youre interested in Awakening/The true nature of things

At what stage of TMI would you consider yourself to be at?
How long is your meditation routine? What's the maximum you can sit?
Do you have lots of experience with Piti?

You can PM me if you want to talk more in-depth. I've gotten to know few people with years of experience in meditation.

TMI stage wise it's hard to say, this is because after streamentry, when I was around stage 4-5, I left TMI and did a bunch of other stuff, and since attained 4th path supramundane insight already. I am discussing this with Culadasa, and am coming back to stage 6-10 TMI to investigate some of the particularities of this development. I actually started this investigation a couple days ago.

For instance, my MIA is so developed, that exclusive attention feels completely different than it would for a usual stage 6er, i.e. it's exclusive and clear, but only takes a tiny % of the entire conscious field. This for example was confusing at first, since the last time I practiced TMI at stage 5 right after streamentry, exclusive attention pretty much took over the entire field of consciousness.

Same with wholebody jhanas, since Arhats abide in Equanimity (4thjhana like), it feels extremely weird entering Jhana 1-3, since we have to purposely cultivate joy/pleasure/happiness, which from Equanimity are not satisfactory at all, just for the sake of entering Jhana 1-3. However, this is very interesting to investigate. In fact, I am writing a book to try and reconstruct the entire path and make it more accessible and streamlined for practitioners, as given my own progress, I know that it is possible to make extreme progress in relatively short time, it just depends on your strategy. I will go through pleasure jhanas and luminous jhanas in the next couple days, but I believe that my samadhi itself is actually lackluster compared to MIA so I might not be able to access luminous jhanas for instance, which is a nice reason to practice more.

Maximum sitting time is a question that does not really make much sense once you can stay in 4th jhana, since it just becomes a question of time management/time efficiency.

I sent you a PM, always happy to discuss mindtraining and its fruits.
