I agree with part of your argument although I am not quite sure you are actually interested in my plan B as you put it. The question in theory is logical but wasn't expressed in a logical manner. If I run poor I will put in more volume to try to negate that, if I run insanely poor over the duration of this challenge it is obvious I will not complete it (hence why it is a challenge).

@SimpleRick Well put, and this is the reality of many aspiring poker players before they fund a roll large enough to earn real income. Often times they will fail 4/5 times and be forced to go back to a 9-5 job before they push achieve their goal of making this game their profession.

UPDATE

Terrible session yesterday. Felt forced, wasn't playing well at all. I felt my opponents were exploiting my gameplay based on me streaming and I wasn't able to adjust. Could be not true and just a psychological barrier I created for myself as well, but not totally sure. Either way, today I will focus on playing less exploitative and more "GTO" versus the regs to negate that feeling/idea that they are exploiting my stream.

If you went from $57 to over 14k, you can do this.

It looks like you are stepping back down (I like this play). I don't think you will be exploited that much in stream, we have so many live streams out there (including Peter Clarke). I presume you have a delay (Its been a little while since I've been able to watch your stream).

One teensy suggestion. Do you have the option to purchase monthly subscription in twitch for no commercials? In the US, we have Amazon Prime (which we can link) and also forgo commercials for 9.90 a month (very handy if you don't want to subscribe to every channel, and save your prime membership subscription for channels that require subscription.

Your streams are then saved/viewable for around 2.9 months. This would be a great help to promoting your offers of coaching, and for newbies to really learn from your challenges.

Just google how to get rid of commercials on twitch, and you should eventually have that link to pay. This would provide more value, and make more sense when you want to charge for subscriptions.

Haha thanks a lot for the words of encouragement! We can do it, just need to put in the volume in these closing stages! $500/day in 200NL from this point onward, totally attainable.

That's a great suggestion, will look into Amazon Prime to restore my older videos, possibly download them then export to youtube. Maybe I could also go a little more in depth in each video and do a little bit of tutorials in the future. Many possibilities, not sure what direction I will want to take in the future, but right now I'm focused on the challenge. Will definitely look into it!

Again a slow start to yesterday, but we found our groove at the end. Unfortunately duty called in real life and I had to step away from the stream early after only a $150 or so profit. However I am feeling really good and ready to put in some solid volume entering the final third of the challenge. From this point onward we will need to average $500/day... difficult feat if the volume is low, so we will make sure to ramp it up! Day 20, around $4K, let's try to push that 5K mark.

Heart crushing day yesterday... Played a very poor brand of poker, generally unaware of how I was being exploited and not paying enough attention to villain strategies. I was thinking way too 1 Dimensional and it costed us more than a pretty penny, dropping 3.5 BI's, taking us down to 3.3K. We did get rakeback as it was Sunday, but the 1170 points was just below 1200 for that 40% Rakeback, so we unfortunately only received $300 from our efforts. This takes the roll to $3.6K and it is do or die time!

Yeah it happens from time to time, the best thing to do when you go on a downswing (generally a result of bad play or bad variance), is to look back on how those results came to be and focus on the variables we can control. As difficult as it was for me to do (as I am partaking in this time controlled challenge), I still decided to take a 2 day break to reset my mind and think more clearly. I didn't study the spots, however I just relaxed those days, taking my mind off poker all together.

UPDATE

Okay here we are... 1/4 of the goal with 1/4 of the challenge remaining. At a glance this situation doesn't look too optimistic, but my mind is razor focused and I will put everything I can into completing this challenge. In my experience I have had a few $5K+ profit days in 200NL, so it is possible, the question is will the player pool allow it :P. Against the regs I would have to run well to have a BB/100 of 20BB+ and play 2500 hands a day in order to achieve our goal, so it will likely come down to how well the tables shape up. If everything goes well and we make $5K-6K with 3 or so days remaining, we can consider playing 500NL and looking for fish. This is wishful thinking at the moment however, and we need to stay focused on today and take things one day at a time.

Session #1 today saw us up 2 BI's in 200NL. Time to get session number 2 on the road! (late night)... Going live in 10mins.

The second session was better than the first! We managed to rack up $750, taking the daily total at about $1130, and surpassing our daily objective of $1K. Felt ecstatic over the feat, but will have to replicate it every day until the end of Day 30. Can't get too carried away, will need to continue to be focused in every spot and play our A Game. This gives us a glimmer of hope to complete the challenge with success. Day 25 may see us run a second session as well, all I can say for now is we will be going live in 10mins looking to shoot for another 5 BI's. Good luck us!

Bad day at the office yesterday... Ran into a few cooler pots and lost our allins pre, also played our C game close to the end. 5 Days remaining, just going to try my best to run it up to a stack that can give us a chance to complete this challenge. Very difficult from this point on but will focus on the slim chance that we have.

Unfortunate man! Keep it up though you never know how badly things can turn around. Today I won over 10 bi's after moving up (to clear $200 bonus) immediately! Feeling great especially after I lost like 25 bi straight after moving up from 2nl

Session #1 was 3 hours and saw us drop 3 stacks... Session #2 started with us dropping 2 stacks, before grinding back an 8 hour session to end up 5 stacks on the session to $3050 total and amounting $480 in Rakeback for the week. This takes us to where we are now at $3.5K. Going to keep pushing, despite only having 4 days left!

Big day at the office yesterday, and it needed to be! After playing many a combination of 200NL 6 max and 200NL HU, we managed to grind the bankroll up to about 4800, then decided to attack the one fish sitting at 500NL FF. We ended up almost a stack in 500NL before losing a flip AKo<JJ, to take us back down to even. 500NL profits = ~$100. Continuing to battle in the 200NL streets we ended the session up about $1.6K to take us to where we are now at $5.2K! 3 Days left to make this thing happen.... Let's do it!!!!

Very very disappointed at the moment guys... We had to finish our session prematurely because of maintenance; with the intention of returning in 30mins-1hour after the maintenance was completed. Unfortunately we are here 2 hours later and still waiting...



This makes me wonder if it is just best to sleep ASAP and wake up with the intention to grind out long hours during the day instead. The only problem is this now cuts our days from 3 to 2 as we are now on the cusp of Day 29.

Very upsetting considering we were crushing our session and now have more than 5.6K... Facing more adversity, we will see how these last 2 days pan out.

Today's first session started out really well, seeing us almost touch the 6.5K mark, but unfortunately due to some bad runouts in 500NL and suboptimal play in 200NL, the session ended us dropping a few stacks - taking us to where we are now at $4.3K. I am aware there will be another maintenance (sigh) from 1am-3am EST, so I will need to get my second session in now. I am just disappointed it will only last a couple hours but it is what it is :/

Anyway, still hopeful we can get this one done and putting everything into making it a reality. Session #2 of Day 29 starting now!

Ok imo definately 31 days of even 32! Noone cares about a couple hours more especially with those maintenances, we just want to see you make it man

Hahaha love the spirit Thommehh! I am still unsure I feel I need a day off after today but after will see if I decide to continue the challenge or not (assuming we don't complete it today :P)

Anyway, The final day has arrived... Day 30! We managed to have a very positive second session to yesterday to finish at $5.5K - still $4.5K short of our goal. Hopefully we can make a miracle out of this final day!
