Summary:

Over the last month in a half I have taken my foot off the pedal and shifted my poker journey in neutral after seeking balance in my life. I feel I have found that balance and am feeling better than ever in terms of my energy, health, drive and overall mindset. During my hiatus I have been playing the odd mid-high stakes games here and there as well as 50-200NL to prepare me for this challenge. I feel this challenge should be easier than my previous $57-$20K challenge where I fell just short after again shifting in neutral towards the end. Either way it was a pretty decent grind and the journey was well worth the experience. Now I have a slightly different task at hand which seems easier on paper, $1K-10K, but the handicap of streaming the entirety of the challenge may prove to be difficult.

Rules:

- The Duration of this Challenge will be 30 Days and in this time I must grind my bankroll up from $1,000USD to $10,000USD
- I am not allowed to deposit
- I will play on Partypoker
- I can play any format of poker, but likely will only stick to cash games
- I cannot skip days and continue the day where I left off (ie. Day 1 = April 12th, if I don't play on April 13th then April 14th = Day 3).
- All Rakeback accumulated will contribute to the challenge
- All gameplay must be streamed live on my stream - https://www.twitch.tv/johncpoker17, I am NOT permitted to play outside of the stream, or money gained away from stream will be void towards the challenge funds

Sidenotes: I have been very busy as of late away from the felt (or the monitor), so this will force me to be very disciplined around and away from poker in order to ensure good life balance and daily organization.

I will likely start on Monday, April 12th, however I will post on here if I do change that date, but I will only have 30days from Day 1.

Good question, I plan on sticking by decently aggressive yet respectable BRM of 50NL until $2K, then 100NL until $4K then 200NL the rest of the way, with maybe the odd 500NL shot. This way it will be 70 Stacks in 30days 20/20/30 Stacks @ 50NL/100NL/200NL and this even excludes rakeback which will count towards the challenge.

I have decided I will start the challenge tomorrow, Tuesday April 13th @ 3pm EST

When will you stream next? I’d assume you’d be streaming almost everyday considering you have only a month to get to $10K.

Also, is there a specific schedule you'll have (like start stream at 3pm every time) or does it just depend on the mood?

Yeah a bit tricky streaming while playing that many tables for me atm, but I’ll adapt. Streaming pretty much everyday if not then literally everyday until we complete this challenge.

Not so strict on the schedule, will be streaming again around 7:45pm-8pm EST (in about 1-1.5hours)

Day 1 we’re at about $916, I can’t imagine we ran above EV, I’m guessing 4-6 stacks below it but not certain at this point. Will check when it pops up on my MyGame

After starting the day down 4 BI's in Day 2 we ended up about a Buyin to take the total to $956 after the first two days. Definitely not ideal seeing as we want to make 2-3 stacks a day, but finally feeling a good rhythm and more balance between playing and streaming simultaneously. Started yesterday down close to 8 Buyins after finally rebounding to only a 2 stack deficit. I still need to tighten up early on in my sessions as I sometimes find myself going a bit overboard with the exploits, but we move on! Day 6 starting in 15mins

Yesterday I ran two sessions for the first time in the challenge. The earlier session bordered 5 hours of streaming time where as the second one was short and sweet at 1.5hrs. Session #1 saw us ending with only a $10 profit, but earned 100 points to give us an extra $30 in our weekly rakeback to take us to $210 total which we received yesterday. As for the second session we ended up close to 3 stacks to close out yesterday above the $1.5K mark, closing in on enough to start taking some shots.

Very very interesting to read up on. Going to run a session now and I will get back to this before the day ends, would be very peculiar if I have the same findings. Will definitely post my findings into the thread.

UPDATE:

Ran a bit under EV yesterday, in 100NL where it mattered most but it's all good. Will try to post a graph soon, just haven't made the time to import my hands into PT4. Up only 1BI yesterday, not terrible considering I wasn't planning to stream at all yesterday but definitely not over the moon about this. Assuming we need to make 2.33' stacks per day we should be at $1815.50. Being 4 stacks behind, we may consider taking some 100NL shots again today. Slow day yesterday, ran a bit under EV, again in 100NL. We briefly hovered around the $1.9-2K mark before ending the session down $10.

We fought a hard battle yesterday - grinding out 2 sessions. Session #1 was smooth sailing for a 2 hour long session, ending up $200 to take the total to $1802. However the second session was far from that. We started up about $150 to take us around $1950, but shortly after feel out of our A game and way at the bottom of the barrel, 3Betting too wide, playing too passively, unbalanced and overall just sloppy poker. Running strictly 100NL tables, 2 Fastforward and 2 regular tables, we managed to plunge our roll to as low as $1450. Thankfully we regained our mojo the last hour and went on a nice heater to end the day up a little more than $2K. Perfect! Now we are right on track to complete this challenge (averaging 2.33' stacks per day). Will look to grind a session around 9-9:30pm today for anyone interested in tuning in.

Absolute howler of a session yesterday. Started off slow as usual, but towards the end we really ran hot, pushing the roll to $2500, before dropping a bit to end the day at $2300. Great way to kick off our 100NL journey in this challenge!
