And yea that was quite amusing actually. Her uncle asked me what i do for a living. Generally 'i work on the internet' is enough, but he wanted all the details.
So there I was explaining in really basic english what 'stock trading' (lol) is, when my girlfriend walks in and asks what we're talking about. Her uncle says: work. And she goes: ohh youre talking about poker?

Thankfully everyone in the room was over 30 so they didnt have a clue what poker is anyway, the thai guy went on to talk about 'internetmarket' so I dodged a bullet there.

Stock Trading is also some kind of gambling, but since it's not cards it seems more normal for common people.

Yeah but on the long run poker is not gambling at all.

Yea stock trading works great, especially since there's no way they can find out you're lying unless they live with you / know your friends etc.

Played my longest session ever today, started at 3am and just finished around 2. I know for many of you grinders 11 hours is a piece of cake but for me doing anything but sleeping for more than 10 hours straight is a pretty big accomplishment, so quite happy with that.

Also my volume increased by quite a bit, played a total of 77 tournaments today, while still playing <12 tables. My biggest session this far was <50 games.

unfortunately I bricked basically everything up until the hot $22 (one of the last tournaments I play). Went on a nice hotrun there and ended up finishing 6th (meh), for ~700$, after that I bubbled the last 2 tourney's I had left (13th 33fo & 9th 22$ fo) so that was a little disappointing. Also came in 6th in a 30e PSKO on .fr for 150e.
Slow rolled myself a little since I was sure that I ended +250$, however I hadn't created an alias yet for all the different sites, so in the end a dissapointing - $21 turned up. Still reasonably satisfied with it since it looked like I was gonna be down well over 500$.

Feel like I played quite well today, bbEV looks godawful, but the amount of times I ran into AA was just ridiculous.
For now I'll start every sunday at 3am for a massive session. During the week I'll try to start a little before 5, since I don't need to play 11h sessions everyday, getting in ~40-50 games during weekdays would be more than fine.

Hueheuhue it's funny when I meet ppl and I don't want to explain them what is poker or listen how bad is to gambler, I say the same. It is very similar and I read an article from Cambridge or Harvard don't remember exactly but it was about how successful poker player are doing very well on stocks.

Only correlation I can see is the skill to handle the variance.

Pretty sure they were talking about 'day trading' which isn't neccesarily trading stocks(it's really more heavily towarded to currencies/commodities/indexes)but yeah,I've heard a lot of people saying daytrading is very similar to online poker and know of few poker pros that made the transition part/fulltime.
On topic:great thread man,wish you lots of run and playgood in the 2k16.I'm thinking about going to Thailand for some time next year maybe,any particular cities you'd recommend?

What a sh*t ****ing day this is.

Woke up at 5:30 to start playing but was really shattered, evbb looked ok but i feel like i auto piloted most of the sessiom, also just ran awful.

Anyway, thats all manageable.

So my gf decided to make me some food while i was grinding, around 8am. Had a bunch of sausages along with some fried eggs, all good and well. She left for work, i finished up my session and decided to get some well deserved sleep.
However 3hrs ago I woke up with massive cramps in my stomach, went to the bathroom and ive been throwing up ever since.

Its unbelievable how long our bodies can keep throwinf up, even after all the food is gone. Rn just drinking water and vomitting it out 10m later. My neighbors must also be frightened since im making all sorts of demonic noises.

Sorry for the details but im writing this partially as a distraction. Havent felt this **** in a while (lol_Rome) and probably never without alcohol.

I suspect your gf cooking to be the cause of your pain.

if the eggs or sausages were bad no amount of cooking can fix that, but sausages undercooked about ready to throw up just thinking about it. also i've been using the equity analyst line for years now, if they want details just give some bs about the stock market. i hold some investments in the s&p 500 so not a total lie anyway
