Just finished a 14 hour session (8am - 10pm) after taking yesterday off. Ran deep in my final reg-speeds of the day so spent about 4 hours with <4 tables. The grind went quite well and I feel like I played great, the off-peak games seem to be extra juicy with all the regs grinding scoop.
Made 4 final tables today, 4th in a 22$T, 4th in a 44$ psko and these 2:




Unfortunately I couldn't close any of them but the smaller scores add up nicely, total for the day +1.3k.

Got in 53 games total today with an abi of 29$, feeling quite motivated for the off-peak grind again and I'm glad I made the switch this week.
Ev has been a bit swingy this month, but it's going in the right direction again.



I'm gonna let the dog out and then it's right off to bed, 3 more full grind days in front of me.

I'm a bit late but ty

Ended up skipping the big sunday events of the last scoop sunday to avoid screwing up my sleepschedule again, instead grinded my regular schedule were I probably met less than 10 regs during the entire session. I guess most regs weren't stupid enough to skip one of the biggest days of the year
Anyways, got in a pretty big session with 60 games and nearly 2k in buyins. Same story in all of my sessions this weekend really, lot of volume & feel like I've played very well, but lost a few hundred every session.

Over the last 18 days I've played 16 sessions of 8-20h each (700+ games), can't help but feel really good about the time I managed to put into playing and studying despite being only 300$ up this month.

This series has definitely taught me something however. The next time I decide to grind during a series I'll just take a flight home for the 2-3 weeks so that I can grind on a European time-schedule. I find it really hard to grind through the night everyday and sleeping from 10am-6pm, I think my ev would be way higher if I just got a plane ticket and locked myself up at my parents house for the series.

For now I'm going to take some much need days off however. I brought my dog to this doghotel not far from here today (Made me realise how used I've gotten to having her at my apartment, feels strange not having a dog run around now). And tomorrow I'm flying to Phuket with my gf. We'll be visiting 5 or so houses tomorrow and another 2 on thursday, hopefully by friday we'll have decided where we're going to move to. If all goes as planned I will then end up moving around the 25th of June.

When I come back from Phuket I'll get right back to grinding as next month will likely be busy with the move + I'm heading to Samui with a couple of friends from 6-10 June. In between I'll try to grind every day that I have as long as I still get at least 1 day off per week, once I settle in Phuket I'll revert back to a regular 5day/week grind.

Y2d graph, little bit disappointed to see this, but last year I was down 6k in may and went on a 40k upswing after, so that gives me hope



This means my goal of making 100k from June '16 - June '17 has unfortunately failed.
Was obviously likely to happen so I can't be too upset about it, but I definitely want to see some better results in the upcoming year. I won't be setting any $ goals again however, I'll just try to keep up my volume & try to crush the off-peak games as hard as I can.

Cheers, yea defo a large disadvantage to being staked is that you have to give away a large chunk, then again without it I might have been broke/a much worse player, so it was definitely worthwhile so far. I'll re-evaluate how I'll continue when my contract ends in febuary next year.

Just rounded up my last session of the weekend, played 3 days straight and got in about 190 games which is great volume for me. I started adding some 15/30 90/180man OD mtt's since they're super soft and fast paced so they should make for a decent hourly boost. On top of that I've been stacking some lower-stakes tables recently to up my volume a bit, and it's working out very well so far. I'm already over 1k games this month with 1 more session to go so volume-wise the month has been a success, despite breaking even.

bb/100 wise It's been going really well since moving back to my off-peak grind at 10bb/100, hope I can continue a similar trend.




Phuket

So I went to Phuket on wednesday and stayed there for two nights. The night before visiting the house that I liked most from pictures the agent let me know that someone took it that day, turned out to probably be a good thing since the replacement that I found was much nicer (and a bit cheaper).

It's a 3br2bath place in Koh Kaew (Up north from Phuket Town, pretty far from the beaches but a nice/quiet area), it has a little garden and lots of green around it which is great for the dog, the rent is 20k/month.

I paid the security deposit today so if all goes well I'll be moving in on the 27th of june, means it's gonna be a very busy month for me but with these 60game sessions I should hopefully still be able to get 1k games in.

For now I'm taking tomorrow off to take care of some things, then I'm grinding until I'm leaving for Samui on the 6th.

I play them off-peak since I always grind off-peak (late-night/early morning EU-time). They're usually very small fields but there's very little regs around in my time-zone so roi should be decent.

Been a busy month for me so far. Just finished my grind for the week, planned to do another session tomorrow but since I'm already at 55 hours this week I prefer to just take some days off.
I've played 850 games so far this month despite having had over a week off because of the trip to Samui, but results-wise nothing happened this month, my biggest scores were 3rd & 4th in the B82 for around 1k each. My evbb/100 has been over 8 in the last 100k hands so I hope I can keep that up.

Pretty excited to move to Phuket next week, especially after spending some time on Samui I'm quite happy to leave the madness of Bangkok for a quiet place. Will probably not play until at least wednesday next week given that I have to setup an internet connection first & buy a desk+chair to grind on.

I'm still contemplating what my daily schedule will look like once I'm settled there. Currently I'm grinding 50-60 hours every week which is pretty exhausting. I'm thinking of dropping to 4 sessions per week (~250-300 games/40h), I don't think the extra ev I get from grinding 5 (sometimes 6) days makes up for the loss of focus & enjoyment when grinding 60 hours. I'm probably better off using an extra day off to focus on other things in life & spend some more time reviewing my game as I'm not doing enough of that at the moment

Haven't updated in a bit as I've been getting settled in and getting a schedule going. I'll post a bunch of pics for a change.

Have been playing poker 5 days a week but my sessions are a bit shorter now, plus on tuesdays I quit extra early taking the entire afternoon off.
Poker results have been decent this month but nothing special, up ~2k$ in July so far, best scores:

1st 82$ TPSKO 2.600$
3rd B82 1200$
2nd 27$ hyper 900$

Have been following this schedule for the last couple of weeks but I'll probably move it around a bit as it's not quite perfect yet.




Phuket

So by now I've settled in and gotten to know the area a bit. Really loving this place so far and I'm very happy that I made the move.

I'm planning to use one of the guestrooms as my grinding room but the desk I ordered has to be put together manually (without a clear instruction guide), so I haven't gotten around to that yet as I screwed up the first time around & had to start over


For now I'm grinding at the kitchen table and this is my setup:

I currently don't have any means of getting around yet, will probably buy a bike sometime in the future (altho I'm a little scared as I drive like an asian woman). The downside of which is that I have to walk 20 minutes to the main-road if I want to go anywhere, the upside is that it's quite beautiful around here so walking isn't that big of a deal:







And a blog from Phuket wouldn't be complete without a beach pic, altho I don't have many yet as I've only been once so far (The beach is quite far from my place as I'm on the east-coast, especially when taking the bus it's a long drive).

For the upcoming weeks I'll continue my grinding schedule, then in August I'm going to the Netherlands for a non-poker related event. Coincidentally however the WSOP Rotterdam starts right after that so I'll probably play 1 or 2 side events there.

Haha can't help you out with the room unfortunately, as for the visa yea It's a bit annoying to have to leave the country every 3 months and get a new one, but if you like travelling it's not that bad. Personally I got a Thailand elite visa earlier this year so I don't have to worry about visa stuff anymore, but it's a bit pricy.
As for the most annoying there here is probably the ****ty level of english, but learning some basic thai & meeting locals goes a long way.
