£1500 to £20k in 64 Days in London Cash Games

Going to start a new thread as I've started playing live and just have no aims really, lost the last 4 sessions and feel like I'm about to put it all on the table so hopefully this thread will give an aim and keep me focused

Started playing live since the start of this month and have done

26 hours at 1/2 and won £1592
7 hours at 1/2PLO and won £629
4 hours at 2/5 and lost £1290
overall £931 profit over 35 hours
but yeah last 4 sessions have been -£77, -£103, -£615 and -£1290

Buy-in limits

£2k or less= £1/2
£2k to £4k= £1/2 PLO or £2/5NL
£4k to £2k or £20k = 2/5PLO

Will see how this thread goes, better to have a little bit of structure with my cash than dumping it all on one table, I'll be able to stick to these limits I'm allergic to proper bankroll management

eg when I am over £2k and have a decent enough buy-in, leaving me £2k to continue at £1/2 I will jump stakes

Should be able to get 3/4 sessions a week in

wonder what the odds of me doing this are? maybe 80/1 but it should be interesting as long as I don't lose 6 buy-ins at 1/2 straight away that would be an anticlimax

Cheers for reading

Aspers, hippodrome and empire I like to change it up but I lost £750 last night so tonight I think I'll go empire with the cash left

Aspers the most because it's easier for living in east London. But like that the empire's lack of 1/1, means entry level players have to start a 1/2.

Looking to get back into it. Just brushing up on so theory and playing a bit online to get back into the swing.

Aspers has 1/1 ☺

Yeah you will be fine after playing online, live is so much worse than 2nl zoom on pokerstars for example

Are you just buying in for 1500 at empire?

I've seen like half the table buy in for 2k at a 1/2 game there, felt like a noob with $300 first time i ever played.

Na I would have been buying in for £250 each time at the empire 1/2 ☺
But I stayed in the pub too long and missed the last train so didn't end up playing
Know what you mean about deep stacks though in the 2/5 game I played there they all had about £3k

Then today went to play..... On the train there I realised the 40 min journey ends up being 1h40 on a Sunday

So a bit of a train disaster Weekend

Results

Friday lost £750 in 1/2 plo - should have been playing NL
Sunday profited £500 in 1/2 NL
Sunday profited £1250 in 1/2 plo

Great turn around I was expecting today to be the last of my money but got very lucky and the thread continues ☺

Now on the long train back home again

Ik that feeling, i used to/still do take the train from NJ -> NYC to play in home games and that 2 hour train back home @ like 2am or 5am in the morning ****ing hurts.

But other nights you just have like 2k-3k in 20s/100s in your pocket and walk through NY pennstation and feel like a boss.

Thanks Grim, yeah it's really fun to play

it just feels like you would always be making a profit in that game

vs 1/2 holdem when half the time your making a profit and the other half the time it feels like you are breaking even vs nits

having said that a few people were laughing at my attempts to play poker tonight so not sure how accurate my summary is

Notice any differences in games this last pay-day weekend compared to the rest of the month?

I was thinking to myself on Friday that the room seems more drunk and all games looked more loud/fun than normal - hadn't considered it might be because of pay day so thanks for bringing that up might try and get two sessions in next payday weekend

Tried out some 6 card Plo yet grim?
