if you are looking for motivation, I suggest setting some smaller goals and a timeline to meet them in. This way you can have more some more achievable goals that can provide satisfaction when you meet them. $100k is so far off that relatively big moves in your roll do not even provide much progress toward your goal. This isn't to say you can't set higher goals (eventually $100k and beyond) if you do well, just set goals that you can meet in a shorter time frame
