This is a great idea. I just watched the Youtube video. My favourite bit is 53:00 where villain calls two streets with 10 high and no real draws.

When are you doing the next video?

I've just started grinding the 3.50$ HUSNGs on stars, hoping to move up to the 7$ soon. That was my first post on 2+2, so thanks for motivating me to get involved.

Haven't heard of your band Expander before, but you guys are ****in great. Definitely catching some Gehenna and Celtic Frost vibes. Dig the art and the concept too

Pretty sick that you worked with Ballou and Joel Grind, have you worked with them before?

Best of luck OP, I'm rooting for you! I'll be sure to check out the stream

Welcome to 2+2! Thanks for speaking up and for checking out the video. That T3 hand was a funny one for sure.

I'm traveling in FL right now to visit my mom and brother. They live in NWFL in Destin and I haven't been able to travel home to visit them in over a year. Going to try to stream a video this week.

GL at the husngs!

Thank you so much! Not a ton of metal/punk fans in the poker community so it's very cool to have someone "get it" and appreciate the art and concept too.

We've done both our full length records with Kurt at his studio in Salem, MA. Joel mastered them both as well. We did the first full length in 2017 and then our newest we recorded in Feb of 2020.

Due to the pandemic we haven't been able to play as a band since we did that record in Feb of 2020 but we're getting back together for writing and rehearsals in July. Stoked!

In my absence from Global the roll slowly continues to build with their freebies which is nice at the current bankroll we're at, haha.

@OP: it'd be cool if you post some hands here, so we can discuss the spots. I play HU SnG's, too (25 bb).

I've been on vacation for the last 4 weeks visiting family in Florida. I haven't streamed at all but I've been working on the challenge whenever I can get a few games in. Hit an ATH with the bankroll yesterday. I'm going back to Austin next week so I'll get setup for some streaming once I'm home. And as far as hand histories...with Global it's a browser based client and there's no PT4 or HEM capability and no real easy way to share hand histories to my knowledge. If I get into any really interesting spots I can just manually recreate the hand I guess.

My family is from Northwest Florida from a beach town called Destin. Here's a poor pano of us (I'm taking the photo) having beers on the Destin bridge.

I have family that lives on either side of Choctawhatchee Bay so I've been staying on the north side of the bay in a town called, Niceville. Yep, that's really the name. I brought my bike and am trying to keep a regular riding schedule but with daily rainstorms and vacation vibes I've probably only been averaging about 50 miles per week.

Here's a recap of a ride I did...still can't believe how flat it is here. By comparison, in Austin, one would probably climb ~800 feet of elevation for every 20 miles of riding. You can see that, in Destin, I climbed 164 ft on this ride.

My family moved here in the late 90s and I finished 4th grade through high school living here. On this current trip I met up with my best friend from childhood's parents (like my second parents) and they gave me a USB drive with pictures and videos they kept of us as kids. We were obsessed with skateboarding and I was obsessed with punk and pop punk music and tried hard as hell to get all my friends to listen to the same music as me. Here's a couple pics of us from the year 2000 skateboarding in Florida summer. I'm on the right.

My best friend's father was always supportive of whatever we'd get into. He would take us to skateparks in the summer and we'd spend all day dropping in on sketchy plywood ramps that weren't cared for very well, haha. We didn't care. We were stoked.

That friend's father was also supportive of me getting into poker. Some of the first $1/2 live I ever played was a session at the Ebro dog track in Florida and his Dad staked me. I'm still so relieved that I hit aipf with AK vs JJ and profited a couple hundred bucks because I was terrified to report back losing results. Even though he assured me he didn't care about losing the money...he doesn't really play poker and mixing up family and money and poker is just not usually a good idea. But I didn't have any money at the time and I was really excited about, and very new to, poker so I took the shot. I think that was 2010.

This vacation is the first trip we've taken together since the pandemic started. I love Austin and am always happy there but it feels good to be away for the first time in a while.

Thanks for the posi messages, everybody. MothersMilk, the opponents do stuff like this often. I imagine it's just getting themselves lost in a hand and then guessing?

Not too shabby yourself! You got some nice results on the site, I saw. GL out there.

Bankroll officially cleared $200 today. Gonna start taking some shots at $15s here and probably move back down if I fall below $150.

Challenge all games so far.

Stake breakdown so far.

Games are what we expected. Soft, crazy, lots of open shovers, lots of **** talkers. We are technically up $130 at sngs at this point with an ABI of $4.9. Which means since the challenge started we've made about $70 in Global freebies which at these stakes is pretty tremendous rakeback, if you wanna look at it that way. We've paid $103 in rake so that equates to something like 70% rb for now. Obv this will be way less proportionate to the br as we move up but for now it's keeping us an an accelerated track which is very nice.

10bb shoving really pisses some people off.

In fitness, I did my longest ride in a while which felt good.

More poker tomorrow. Also supposed to be going out for a fried oyster po boy tomorrow for dinner. Maybe that's why I pushed today's ride to 25 mi. I'd better bike tomorrow, too.

Fun thread, will be following and good luck!

Any recommendations for HUSNG strategy resources? Have been dabbling a bit and it would be fun to get current on strategy. Happy to pay up for the best stuff.

Thanks for following along! I saw recently that husng.com has some 2021 husng packs but I didn't see what speeds were included. Might just be hypers. Most of everything I learned was from talking with friends and from the forums. I'm not advertising as a coach or anything but if you want to go over some stuff feel free to send me a PM.

Won about a buyin and a half today playing only $16s. We'll take it especially since it was our first session at our current highest stakes for the challenge. I'm starting to feel motivated to grind this challenge more that we're getting to a stake level where the money feels like a little something. Not gonna set any volume goals but I feel like I want to play more than before now that we are shotting outside the micros.

We met my mom and her boyfriend at a place called Lulu's on the bay in Destin. It's a bit of a cheesy place as it's Jimmy Buffet's sisters restaurant and it's touristy as **** but the view of the bay is really nice and the oyster poboy was legit. Also their live music was surprisingly solid. A competent guitarist and singer busted out Pink Floyd, several Beatles cuts, Simon & Garfunkel and Neil Young.

Shoutout to the Grayton Fish Whistle IPA which wasn't bad for a local beer. Especially in a place where craft beer was mostly unavailable 10 years ago and good local beer not until like 5 years ago.

The plan tomorrow is to grind and then hit the beach in Destin if the weather holds. We've been running bad with daily rain for about 10 days. And there's a tropical storm pounding other parts of Florida right now so we'll see.

Thanks! Yeah it’s aggressive for sure. Just gotta stick to plan to move down at certain points if it doesn’t go well. Which at quick turbo structure is very possible even in soft games.

I’m not skateboarding these days as I’m in my early 30s and I just don’t want to break bones. I’m a guitarist and have to protect the wrists, haha!

Only got 9 husngs today and made like $6.

Did have a nice afternoon/evening at Henderson Beach State Park.

Gotta try for more volume but my "main" grind and family stuff kinda took up a lot today.
I also got a 40 minute 11 mile bike ride in. Hoping for more volume this weekend.

Thank you. These are all turbos although the Global software is super quick and so is the structure. 3 minute levels in these turbos.

Made it back to Texas this week. Been getting showered in the $16s which is a little sad since they're super soft. Just running super bad all in mostly. I'm going to move back down for a bit.

Bankroll was $300 before but we're currently eating a bit of ****.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since getting home this week I have done two 30+ mile bike rides though. Feeling great about that.

Anyway - sad to move back down to the damn $8s but this is what happens sometimes when taking shots aggressively. All these husngs are very soft. Almost no games vs regs so hoping to turn things around quickly.

We've been getting hammered in the $16s. I was kinda stubborn moving down at br $150 but kept losing. Even ran poorly in some of the $8s I played. At one point today I had less than $100 in cashier. I was focused in the games but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't bothered to be running so poorly in soft games. The $16s are the first stake where you can start winning a little money so running good and holding there would have been awesome to start. Here's all SNGs so far.

However, tonight, with a bankroll of around $100 I decided to shot the $11 Bounty HU Shootout. I kept expectations low but figured since it was a bounty ($5) I could maybe get a discount or win small if 1 or more HU matches went okay. An hour or so later...

I wound up shipping the tourney for $75 and won an additional $30 in bounties. Pretty helpful to double the bankroll from ~$100 to $200 while things were going quite poorly. Shoutout to 2+2er MothersMilk for telling me about the tourney and encouraging me to play it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I rode my bike 5 days this week and hit my weekly goal of 100 miles for the first time in months. I wrecked and bruised my ribs badly in April and hadn't hit that weekly goal since that time. I have an annual goal of 4,000 miles and I crossed the halfway point this week. I'm 150 miles behind pace on the year but gonna push hard through the Texas heat and really push it during the fall to try and hit that goal.

Here's the ride that bumped me over 100 miles for the week.

Here's the annual progress.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In other news I've been working on music for all of my bands lately which feels great. I ordered a new guitar during the pandy and it took 6 months to have built but it showed up in Feb 2021. I hadn't had the chance to play it with my bands until today when my metal band, Expander, got together for our first rehearsal since Jan of 2020. The guitar is a GodCity Instruments Craftsman 2. It sounds so ****ing good and is the nicest guitar I've ever owned. It sounds and feels a lot better than my Gibson Les Paul. Meeting up with the band and turning on the amps to rehearse was already a treat but this new guitar made the experience doubly awesome.
