My last and only attempt of PGC failed miserably (2 posts or so). I had no real goal in mind.
So let's start a new one and do better this time!

The goal is to make $10.000. Only Sngs count towards this profit target.
I have a part time job for 2/3 days in the week, so i'm going to be playing 4 or 5 times a week. If i can average 30 hours a week of poker i would be happy. This challenge will start today July 4th. I would really like to finish this before the end of the year.

My results have been very mediocre last years, mainly due to a of lack of discipline wich led to not putting in enough hours and study and maybe falling behind of the curve a bit. But hey i still like the game enough and with a bigger bankroll i could be able to have decent side income playing higher stakes. I really want to have a bankroll big enough to play mid stakes tournaments and sngs comfortably.

Starting off with a $500 roll at the avg $3 stake.
I have the most experience playing 6 and 9 mans so i'm going to start of with that. But this could change later on.

This challenge will not be exclusively on stars necessarily, but because of the ability to play lots of tables
it's the most obvious choice to at least start there.

I've played 166 sngs so far and luckily ran a little better at the end of the session to book a small win.



Liquidity
I tried playing in the morning CET but there are not a lot of games and you have to play a variety of 6max,ko,9man,fifty50, 18 mans etc to get enough tables up quickly. I might have to schedule my play to a later time in the day (on my days off). This is going to be quite the grind

Yeah volume is not nearly what it is used to be, I'm afraid you will need to play mostly during peak hours, especially later as you ladder up the stakes. Maybe hypers also worth taking a look at to fill in the gaps.

Yes too bad. And i think you are right about peak hours. It's something i have to adjust to. I noticed games start to pick up later in the afternoon CET. It might be better to start the grind then on my days off, we'll see. It might also be a little bit slower because of the summer. The hypers might actually be good idea once the bankroll grows a bit (talking about 3,50 hypers+).

Same as here, but statistics are blocked for now. I probably unblock and reset statistics on sharkscope down the road to reflect the progress of the challenge.

Have to work till wednesday, i'll be back thursday putting in a solid session.

Getting well versed in formats is important as while not knowing your average session time, would not be too surprised if getting in the same load soon would begin taking more and more time increasingly.

Yes that's probably true, we'll see. I don't mind playing less tables as long as i will be able to increase my avg. profit per sng. I can always add in some other sites along the way to keep up the volume.

What's up folks,

Some stuff came up this weekend screwing up my playing time. But the hours i did play i'm starting to enjoy "the grind" (has not really been a grind so far but you know what i mean). Some notable things.

Game quality:

Most times they are fine, not great. Sometimes they are horrendous (4-5 regs in a 9man 3 dlr sng) and occasionally they are great. Maybe like 10% of the time.
It has definitely gotten thougher imo. But maybe that's just me. I'm definitely getting a subscription to icmizer to study a lot of spots i'm uncertain about atm.

Volume:

Struggling with it so far. There's always the chance of some stuff coming up and that shouldn't be an excuse to not play. I need to get in some type of conistency.
For starters i'm going to plan out my day in the morning and set some realistic goals. I think 50 sng/day for the moment is way more achievable for me. If i want to have a chance of making the 10k goal this volume needs to increase over time. How some guys crank out 150-200 sngs every day is beyond me. Hats off to them.

9mans with only 4-5 regs, honestly those are pretty good games.

Played versus u Yesterday. U play god.

Maybe i was exaggerating a bit with the horrendous part. But a 9 man with 5 regs, high rake and basicly no rakeback doesn't seem great. Luckily it doesn't happen all the time

Hello there not gone just yet,

I've been busy, had to work full time and it was so freaking hot for a while 40 degrees celcius. i wasn't really in the mood to play from my appartment with flat roof and no airco :P. Real western problems over here lol.
Last week i went to visit my brother and his family for a week in france wich was really fun and relaxing. Lot's of hiking, cycling, swimming, bbq-ing, drinking etc.
