I have lurked here for years, but never posted. I got inspired by Doug Polk's $100 to $10K challenge. I happen to like his poker videos, and enjoyed watching him play his way through the microstakes.

So i decided to start the challenge myself but a little different from him. From watching his videos, he played a lot of heads up cash games in addition to the tournaments. I am not a heads up specialist, nor a sit and go specialist. I also wanted to do it using the daily/nightly tournaments.

I do play cash live here in Vegas, but for the most part, i play tournaments. I wanted to see if i could do it in small buy in tournaments.

So I started November 5th.

I play on wsop.com. my screen name is chrstphr if you want to look up my stats.

I deposited $20 on Nov 5th. I ran that up to $61 and then down to $0.77. I deposited another $20 and ran that up to $39. I added another $40 bringing my total buy in to $80. I was going to add an additional $20 two weeks later to make it an even $100 but did not need to after the $40 deposit.

I am adhering to bankroll requirements of 50-100 buy ins. I started playing $1 tournaments and freerolls and have moved up to any tournament that is $10 and under. mostly concentrating on the $3 and $5 rebuy tournaments.

In 2 weeks, i have run my bankroll up to $951. I now no longer play the free rolls.

I now play $1, $3, $5 and some $10 tournaments. I ran good yesterday and finished first in three tournaments, the $500 gtd, the $600 gtd and the $1000 gtd. So far i have about 12 final tables. My stats are from a very small data pool since i started this 2 weeks ago. So there probably wont be much to go off of yet. I track my playing on pokerprolabs. Most of the graphs and ROI stats etc are not anything i am used to for tracking my playing. As a live player, i usually track my playing with my bankroll.

Im sure this will thread will be trolled, but not different than online in the games. I hope posting this is not the kiss of death and i lose the entire online bankroll. I take plenty of donkey beats daily, and probably dont play optimally.

If you have any questions, let me know. And good luck to anyone else trying the $10K challenge.

Its funny there is so much trolling people think every comment is a troll remark. Some guy said he won 2 sngs and I said you won 2 sngs ? nice job. And he said FU man I am not a professional. I am proud of myself if i win a sng so go F yourself. I said what? I said nice job. He said oh your serious oh ty. He said there is so much trolling he doens't know if people are messing with him or not. So this is not a troll sounds like you got good BR strategy pretty sure you can finish your challenge.

Thank you. I have been a lurker on these forums for years, so i know how it can get on here.

I can confident i can reach the goal, i have no idea how long it will take. But being able to play some of the better prize pool tournaments regularly should help shorten the challenge.

as long as i run even.
