Began @ 7 playing the £1-2 holdem bought in for £400 with my name on the PLO list, got a seat and transferred over buying in for £200. Floor then told me that I 'couldn't take money off of the table' so had to lump the entire £400 on.
Completely disagree with this rule for transferring between PLO and NLHE tables due to the game being completely different and often having separate player pools. I completely agree that it should be the case when transferring say from say one NLHE table to a different one to prevent hitting and running.
Managed to run my £400 up to £650~ then got it all in pre with AAJ5ss vs AKKxds and 4568ds for a pot that I think was closer to £1.5k than £1k was hard to tell with the side pot. Bway don't let you run it twice (one of the villains didn't want to anyway) so the board ran out giving the short stacker with AKKxds a flush for the main pot and the 4568ds villain scooped the £600~ side pot with a straight.
Chips: ( although not impressive considering I was in for most of it )
I consider myself a PLO fish. However, a nimble fish can still navigate it's way to outwit the whales at the table. There's still huge value for people who consider themselves weak omaha players in these live games simply due to positional knowledge and pot control. For example I lost another £1k pot later on in the session where I flopped the nuts w/ no redraw otb vs a whale. Managed to pot it two streets knowing that he wouldn't raise unless he also has the nuts, and then when the board pairs otr just check behind to lose to the nut boat. These types of players are what make me certain that it's +ev for even a terribad PLO player like myself to play.
Back to online today anyway so will post results soon. May venture out to the live felt once again as is almost always the case once I get a sniff of the value I'm missing out on it's hard to resist!
