Hello everyone,

due to a lack of motivation, too much procrastination and other stuff I decided to make this thread.

I've been already playing poker for a long time, like 6-7 years and I'm not as good as I would like to be. When I started to play poker I was really passionate about this game, I did everything I could to become better, move up and of course make money. I was working a lot with my game, mental stuff, tried to be as productive as I can and I slowly reached quite good stakes, made some decent money and built a healthy roll.

But now I've stopped progressing and the main reason is, that don't have a vision(long term motivation). Previously the desire to move up was pushing me and now when poker future is not looking great, higher stakes are dying moving up is very hard, simply because a very small amount of games are running and regulars there are very strong.

So ok, I won't expand anymore for now, just made this thread to commit myself to it.

My goal is to make 100k$ in a year from now(September 16th) or it's time to move on and start working on plan B.

I will be playing cash games online and live. Everything will count related to poker, from time to time I play some tourneys, so I will count them too.

Also I'm not gonna tell what stakes I play, where I play, because I don't want to reveal who I am, so this thread/diary might be boring, but I hope it will help for me.

So see ya and good luck to me!

P.S. english is not my first language and sorry if this post is messy, it's early morning here, I was already off to bed, but couldn't sleep, because had a lot of thoughts in my head, now when I created this thread and wrote some stuff down, I can finally go to sleep and prepare for my upcoming fight at the tables!

Day 1 of challenge

Alright, just closed my last table and feeling very tired because it's very late, I'll just make quick update.

Played 3.7k hands today in 2 sessions. First session was awesome was up 5BIs and the second one started quite well, the tables were really awesome with a lot of veeeery good recs, but suddenly got completely destroyed, ran really awful, but whatever happens to everyone.

Not really nice end of the day result wise, but I'm really happy about my game today.

I hope this thread will continue to give me motivation to play good, because when I know that I'll have to post my results, I feel more responsible and careful with how I play.

Today's graph:

I said in first post that I won't tell what limits I play, but whatever, I don't think it makes too much difference.

Good night

Good luck .. past results at nlhe cash games? Do you feel there is still 100k to be made at 500nl + a year online as a steady income? Thoughts on current zoom climate. Where is most your volume?

Thanks About my past results, I scored a bit more than a half of my current goal and yeah I know this goal sounds optimistic and it really is, but I need something bigger in my mind to push myself to work harder.

And yeah I do believe that it's still possible to make 100k+ at high stakes, because there are some people showing these results even in this forum, but of course there aren't a lot of them.

As I said I'm planning to play quite a bit of live poker aswell and I have a lot of hopes there. Mixing online midstakes with live 5/10+ I think 100k is also doable, but here is just pure grind, you got to put a lot of hours.

Day 2 of challenge

Meh, so hard to force myself to update, when results are bad

So today played first two sessions a bit higher than my main limit and ran terribly like yesterday's last session. Played okayish, and after few coolers started a bit tilting, not like spewing or something, just scared to commit to my plan, like decided to go for a 3 barrel bluff and for some reason giving up on the river, which makes my previous streets bad. And to finish strong lost bvb preflop allin cooler in last hand

Whole day felt tilted, like saying to myself why I played these higher games, when I can play my main limit no stress In the near future I won't be taking any shots higher, just gonna grind my main stakes, because these shots usually messes up my mental state when I get screwed.

In the evening played one more session, ended up like half BI up.

Graph of today

So current numbers since begin of the challenge is -2 617.59$ I will count in rakeback at some point later.

Day 3 of challenge

Alright, finally booked a winning day, what a rollercoaster it was today. First 2k hands played meh, not bad, but too much autopiloting, not doing any moves, probably playing too passive postflop, but then caught a second breath from somewhere and started feeling my game. Results went up and down, but finally managed to point the graph to the right direction

Graph:

So summed up without rakeback current challenge result is -1892.01$

For upcoming week plan is just grind as much as I can and on Friday I'm going for a one week trip to play some live poker.

That's it for today, c ya

Day 5 of challenge

Okayy, today was a great day, not only because a variance was on my side and got back some of my EV money, but also because I was feeling well throughout all the day. Previous days, I was feeling dizzy and sleepy with hurting eyes, because my sleep schedule is messed up, like falling asleep 6am and waking up at 3pm.

Today forced myself to wake up earlier which was a great decision and also finally kicked out myself of my chair for an evening 5km jog. I should do this more often, because lately I'm not exercising enough, like playing basketball once a week. Going to a gym is too boring for me and I usually pay 1 month entrance fee and end up visiting it at very best 5 times. So I don't know yet how I should solve sports question.

So giraffe of the day

And challenge numbers pre rakeback -227.71$ At least I'm in a green zone with rakeback! Will add rakeback with a merged graphs in the post before leaving for a live poker trip.

Peace

Day 6 of challenge

Yeah! Finally in the green zone! I'm happy about my game at the moment, got in a good rhythm, not tilted at all, even when in the evening session dropped 6BIs quite quickly, still stayed sharp and managed to comeback and make some more.

Tomorrow is the last day and at night leaving for a live poker trip. It's kinda sad, because got to leave when finally found my game and motivation to grind, but on the other hand need to change surroundings a bit not to burn out. Also live poker is always nice to win some easy moniez and bring some of these beautiful bills back home. Also I don't want to go into details where I'm going, because this place lately got worse for regular players not so welcoming anymore as it used to be, so I don't want to promote because nobody likes regs.

So graph of today

Challenge numbers pre rakeback +623.24$ Gonna add rakeback and merged graph tomorrow, c ya

Day 16 of challenge

Alright, time for update. Didn't manage to update before leaved as promised, because had some stuff to do, but I'll try to recap and sum up all current results.

So firstly, yesterday came back from my one week live poker trip and meh results wasn't that good as expected, but could be worse, at least didn't lose money and covered expenses. I will be adding profits - travel expenses(flights, hotel, taxis) to my final challenge number.

So the games were soft as always, especially very nice on weekend, but got brutal card dead in first days, when the tables were the fishiest. In whole trip wasn't running very good, but didn't get any crazy coolers, so didn't have big loosing days, but didn't have nice winning ones as well.

So numbers for the trip:
Played 50hours;
5/7 winning sessions;
46$/hour;
played only 5/10.
So with travel expenses subtracted ended up winning 1473$

Now I'll post my whole current graph since challenge beginning as I promised to do that before leaving for my trip:

Up like 10BIs it's okayish, would be even nicer if didn't have that unsuccessful shot higher. Also collected ~820$ rakeback.

Played only few hands since came back, it's quite hard to play online after a break, but hopefully will get back on track very soon. Serious grind probably will resume on Monday, now I'll just try slowly warm up playing few short sessions.

Ok that's it for now, here's the all summed up numbers for the challenge. Online table winnings 700.32$ + 820$ rakeback + 1473$ live winnings so total is +2993.32$

Day 19 of challenge

okay, time for an update.

since the last post played few sessions, volume okayish, but not really happy about my performance, it wasn't terrible, but i had to force myself to play almost every session. The main reason probably, that my daily routine is still messed up, that's the disadvantage of live poker trips. Before leaving for my trip I was slowly getting in a good rhythm and after one week break it's again messed up. But meh, I can't resist for those way more easier and bigger money in those live games.

Also today finally decided to try new thing in my nutrition, because it is pretty much terrible, eating a lot of $hit, which leads to feeling like $hit. Btw I'm too skinny and not happy about that, would like to gain some weight. So as I said I'll be trying quite expensive thing, there is a company here which delivers prepared healthy food in the morning for all day and you can choose calorie count. The only thing why I didn't this earlier because it's really expensive, compared how much I spend for food now. But I'll give a shot at this for 2 weeks, if it will make me feel better and more productive I'll consider doing this for a longer time, because it's an investment in me and when feeling better, my game is better and maybe it will be easier to focus and grind more, so it will pay off very fast.

So now about results After last post at same day had a terrible couple sessions, where dropped 12BIs in 2.5k hands which is really annoying especially when the tables were great. The following days forced myself to grind more hands, played meh, not too bad but not too great, grinded up back about a half of that big loss.

Here's the graph since last post:

So this graph sets me back for a challenge and I'm quite behind the pace, only up like 1.5k(will get correct numbers in later posts), but it's easily fixable and can quickly turn around, just need to get some good run and play better.

Alright, that's it for today, c ya

Whatever day of challenge

So let's update a bit, not done this for a while, that beginning with daily updates enthusiasm has gone, not sure how often I'll be updating in the future, probably this will be random, unexploitable, mood dependent.

So firstly overall cliffs, results still sux, game still just okayish, some sessions playing awesome some meh. So nothing new.

So results since last update:

Again awesome start of graph! Looks like different limit, but it's the same throughout all the graph. Damn those down spikes! Have no idea how to get rid of them. Since the beginning of the challenge I had only 5 losing days of 17 and I'm still down on table winnings.

Anyway, tomorrow is Monday, new week, let's hope it will bring something better!

Now some recap about my new nutrition plan which I mentioned in my last post. I had my food delivered two times already(they don't bring it on weekends) and I'm not sure if I'm gonna continue doing this after those paid 10 days will end. The main problem with this food is that almost every meal is a torture for me to eat it. I have no idea, maybe I need some time to get used to this extremely healthy food, because switching from eating all $hit to half vegan, non fat or sugars food it's not that easy and it takes time for my body and stomach to adapt.

Everything else except the price I love. It's nice, because the time spent for buying and preparing food rounds to 5-10mins a day, because only thing I need to do is to take it from the courier in the morning and some meals needs to be heated and that's all. I have 6meals, I never overeat, it's well balanced and I feel good throughout the day, but fml when I need to swallow it without throwing up. It is really hard sometimes, especially breakfast, because it full of carbs and getting healthy and tasty ones not that easy. I really hope that maybe I'll get used within those 8 days, because I'm not going to pay a bunch of money and torture myself if nothing changes.

So that's it for today, too lazy updating challenge numbers and not in the mood when not winning, will do it next time, thanks for reading, hope to show up next time with some better results, c ya

Kept postponing to update this thread for ages and now finally it's time to do it.

Sooo a lot of time since the last update and some stuff happened.

Live poker

So firstly, during those days of silence I was in Malta for another live poker trip. I was surprised that about how many tables there were.. empty ones.. It was maybe like almost 2 year brake since my last EPT trip, it always was a full of action event with waiting lists to waiting lists, huge mtt prizepools and stuff like that, but this time it looked sad. Don't know why. Maybe it's just coz Malta sux or stars can't attract people anymore with their new business model. If I heard correctly EPT Prague will be the last EPT event(where I'll be going too) and they will start new events with new name and not only in Europe.

Anyways even there weren't too many tables, still 1-3 5/10 tables were running and they were polarized, totally unplayable filled with not that bad regs, which is not common in live games, or very juicy with whale spewing thousands across all the table. Of course during the best games I usually get hours of card dead, but whatever, at least not loosing. Also played IPT ME for 1.1keuro and it was most boring event in my live tourney career, played 2 hands in level 1 and then card dead until like level 7-8, lost 2 flips gg wp. I didn't check tournament structure it was so turbo, wouldn't have played it if I knew, because 2 years ago when I played same event it was deep and quite fun.

Health issues

So after 10 days of grind came back home and got a beat. I caught a virus, which was total disaster and still not fully recovered. I spent 3 days in bed with brutal stomach ace, even went to hospital with an ambulance. But now situation seems getting better and almost not feeling pain anymore. Visiting hospital was scary because doctors were suspecting something different, what would require operation, but luckily it was just a virus infection. Coming back home was so awesome and during that hour in hospital I realized that I should not be complaining about pathetic stuff, bad sessions and other things and should be happy that I'm healthy and appreciate what do I have created and be happy that I can do, what I'm doing.

Online poker

Now a bit about online poker. Was grinding some in Malta on my laptop. Most of the volume on the lower stakes, because I don't have my HM2 on my laptop. I was running hot and made quite a bit. Also was running quite good before the trip and after I came back played just 2k hands, because of my health problems. But now slowly will try to get back to the rhythm and will probably be grinding only online till EPT Prague, which is like in the beginning of December.

So lets move to numbers and graphs. This is whole graph since challenge has begun.

Numbers for the challenge:

Online table winnings - +3295.72$
Online rakeback - +2360$
Live poker winnings after expenses(MTTs included) - +4665$

Total +10320.73$

Still behind the pace like 2-3k, but not too worried about that, happy that finally graphs going to right direction and hoping to keep this up.

So that's it for now, still no hand histories, already spent some time writing this, too lazy to browse my database for hands, maybe in later posts
