Just another Bovada grinder, will give the too long tl dr story sometime down the line.

In a nutshell, I have been grinding a lot more Blackjack than poker lately, and I have to get myself back on the right path.
Basic Background 32 year old.
Live in LA..
Work 50 hours or so a week(make $70,000 ish a year but no savings because lol Blackjack degen)
I have $211 on Bovada right now, about $500 in Bank, rent paid through September.

My first Goal
Play 1,000 $12+1 6 max plo8 SNG.
$2500 target profit
Play no other poker or gambling until this goal is complete.
Update here as much as possible.
Once this goal is complete we will make our foray into live poker, need to develop the mental toughness via the monotonous grind for a bit though.

Just a quick update..

I am going to amend the games to any PLO8 SNG or MTT HU included.
played a quick four games, busted MTT, went 2-0 in $10.50 HU matches and won a $20+$1.50 6 max sng.

pretty tilted postdeleted but here is pretty much it...

Played $100 Lo8 and busted it but won $22 knockout HL so plus $184 so far.
Played well in knockout especially shorthanded but gave it away everywhere else.

been 48 hours blackjack free which sounds like nothing but tough given depth of my sickness...

thread helps me, not man enough write about losses so I had to make sure I won so I could post.

Played another pretty long session, 33 games,plus $18 lol, grindedall sngs, found myself playing sloppy, not afraid to get stuck to book long session, almost deliberately getting in the hole, must watch that in the future, gave away a few sngs, which is huge, one more first and I am one pace for the session but stilljust rinse and repeat and play better next time.

notice myself playing worse when watching TV, so I will avoid the TV in the future.

finally a decent session, albeit super short one again...

just trying to build myself back up and psychological boost from small winning sessions is key. played 5 games, went 2-1 in HU games and won both 6 max SNGS. started to play better, leveraged my stack from 4800-7500 in the second sng without showdown(9,000) chips in play.

still have not clicked the Blackjack button, it is imperative that I stay away from that button, it does not take me to good places in my mind.

3-3 HU games and 0-4 sngs for -$53. ran like **** 3 handed in 6 max sngs, played less than engaged.

normally would dump rest of money in Blind rage in Blackjack, will write this, wake up early, grind all the Omaha sngs, and try to book a decent win.

It has been a ****show so far today, tons of games, stuck $80 on day, got last limit O8 MTT
5/7 5 pay $250 up top.

Tilt shoved about $300 in equity last 20 minutes, went from 2/10 to out in 10th $11 deepstack plo8, $478 on top. pretty disgusted but dig deep, pull out this last Limit O8 MTT and quit for a little bit, it's a marathon not a sprint, but tough last couple of miles.. will be back with total shortly

sooo pullled out the $22 limit o8 MTT for $280 to save the session.... went on a rush shorthanded and then made nuts every hand HU so it was a pretty easy win really.. no hard decisions.

Proud of myself that I didn't let my bad play from earlier affect me

Still made 3 big mistakes that cost us a few hundred or we could be super up.

1) limped A884 pre sb-BB then tilt shove river on 2579A board when BB has all the 34s i his range. did this 10 handed when i have 290k and villian 180, can just 3x pre and he can never call and even if he does can pot any flop and be super live vs his range...

2) shortly before this, busted a $100 flat payout MTT 18 left with top 11 all paying $100, was 3/18 and was in ego spot trying bully equal sized stack,I guess I proved money means less to me.. but would rather have $100 really.

3) regged and busted the $55 NLo8 MTT, was tired and tilting and not in the right mindset play higher dollar MTT. affirmed it was bad decision by 7x overbetting shove qj43J board and getting snapped by kj87.

still, you pick up and you march on and hope to do better next time.

Finally a sexy update +$640 session.

played mainly MTT... got second in $22 turbo plo8 for $240 and fourth in $33 5k guaranteed for $522. 4th hurts because each ladder is so much money($200 a spot), but I nit folded my way way to 4th so can't be too upset, just anytime you don't finish first in an MTT there is some rage.

Instead of blackjack now I write it down in here and go to sleep and live to fight another day tomorrow. four days Blackjack clean and it feels great, less likely to go off in Poker when Blackjack sickness not recently with you.

just a quick 3 games session,
went 1 and 1 in HU MTT and mincashed $11 MTT for +$14.67

Noticed a mental leak where I nitted to mincash the plo8 mTT so I could have a winning session, instead of chasing the money.. another leak is I want to revel in a win and grind out of a loss, it should be the other way around.. easier to attack when you are ahead.

Had buddy over and shouldn't have grinded but I am degenerate so of course I did.
played impatient, bubbled a few sngs and squandered a deepish(final two tables) run in $22 plo8 nightly, where I grinded a big stack to ashes and then sobered up a bit too late.

Mental toughness is such a huge part of the battle, at anytime prolly 80% of the field is distracted somehow and looking to go broke and if you just hang tight and never give a penny away, that is enough to take the money usually.

anyway misstep here, if not for this thread I would be furiously playing Blackjack, trying get unstuck or bust account. but I am not engaged at the moment. so smoke then sleep and live to fight another day

just 3 games, hu plo8 sit and go and a Limit O8 MTT which I both lost, and $15 turbo nlhe which I won for $340...
ran pretty insane in the nlhe, didn't really lose any all ins and never had the best of it . ez game when q4 is the nuts...

I guess I am switching this to any MTT I feel +EV in, Turbo NLHE I can play, just can't play postflop at all.. good at flipping though. so Turbo NLHE up to $20 buyin are included... as long as I am not tilted...

obv results have been very good right now, a lot due to run good but also this thread helping me stay a bit more detached. Just have to remember be so philosophical during the 500 game break even stretch.

lost a bit in sit and goes and busted all the MTTs but nightly $22 plo8 where I got fourth(notice a trend). pretty annoying because 4 handed all the big stacks kept playing all in pots and rivering chops, at least 5 rivers I couldn't fade to ladder to 3rd...

pretty exhausted, pass out and live to fight another battle.

+$73 in 51 games. proud of myself here, came home tilted from work and turbodumped $220 trying to run everybody over, switched to the HU plo8 sngs bec. I wanted to win every hand anyway and that kick started a rally, was rivering nut nut quite a bit and getting paid bec. of loose image, got second in a Turbo stud hi lo and min cashed a NL after whiffing first 12 or so MTTs.
Had to dig deep here, I opened up the Blackjack Window for a split second, but I backed off which was very important to pass the test, but shouldn't come that close.

busted evverything super quick except some stud hi lo where I missed a bunch of lows in multiwy pots vs high hands, then got 13th in $33 plo8 with $1300 up top, was 6/22 then made bad value shove on a 10 7 6 2 vs 101043 then lost w fh to rivered aces full to bust 13th... very tilting. sit and gos saved me but tilt busted the last few of them after I lost MTT.

rinse and repeat.

Mental toughness is building with each session. 10 days Blackjack clean now which feels pretty incredible, prolly longest break I have taken in 3 years... mini session just 4 games, won both $31.50 HU plo8 sngs, 2nd in $26 turbo plo sng and mincashed nightly plo turbo 4 games +$104.90.

had him all in w/ 83 vs 69 on 863 board, he bet pot I jammed he snapped lol, but he binked a 9 so had to settle for second. can't cry, had to do a ton of binking myself to get HU. Wasn't scared or nervous or jumpy in slightest 3 handed or hu... just make best decision and when it's done write about it on 2+2.. then call it a night/

Just wrapped up session, 23 games +$188.

got killed in all my sngs especially HU, but closed $22 knockout Hi/lo for $350 plus the knockouts, got all the chips 12 handed, and except for a scare headsup had complete control of Tourney.

Proud of self, had sister and BF waiting to go to dinner, and could have used that as an excuse to go broke, decided to win tourney and keep them waiting instead .

every day I go without blackjack it gets easier and easier to grind. just keep it going.
