After around 10k hands of brutal variance I managed to grind through it and went on a heater today, really happy with how it went. I played my A+ game and everything just seemed to work. I made some adjustments to my game, mainly trying to play smaller pots preflop and dumping the $ in post. In the past it would have consumed me but today I felt really positive.

Have changed some stuff in my game, I was focusing too much on statistics which are almost irrelevant due to sample sizes and the fact that it's 10nl. I'm focused more on a fundamentally sound game instead of getting into stupid spot after spot 3betting light. There's no need to do it and I used to know that! Today went really good, won 6 buyins.

I'm just rehashing after the last few days, I know I ran somewhat bad but I have to admit myself I tilted like a monkey too at times. It's almost all about mindset, if you're positive, positive things happen on the tables, it's that simple IMO! 10 buyin downswings may only be 3 or 4 because of how poor you're playing. Of course it's possible to run that horrid too, but for those in my situation somewhat tilting it's impossible to distinguish the difference until you go back at a later date and get out of that debilitating mindset.

Been spending more time working on mental game stuff lately than playing. Jared Tendlers book is excellent, highly recommend it. At the first onset of tilt I'm able to notice it and quit immediately citing the reasons for it, and in turn working on controlling on those issues to eliminate them. So far it's been very helpful.

On the poker side of things it's going ok, but I've crippled my winrate by having tilted session after session. When I'm on my A game or close to it 10nl is no problem, it's when I start tilting I start gifting stacks and just generally playing bad.

You could probably get away with 10 for 5nl if you know what you're doing

Non showdown is around -200 and showdown +700. I think it could be better but I went on a bad run for around 15k hands and it plummeted.

Really bad day for me, lost like 200 bucks. A lot of it from run bad, a lot of it from tilt. Still have around 40 buyins for 10nl but I need to make some lifestyle changes before I play and get in control of my tilt issues.

I'll be taking a break for 2-3 days probably and getting back to it. In the meantime I'll work out an exercise schedule and continue reading the mental game of poker. I accept I'm playing badly but I don't remember experiencing such bad variance in the past over such samples.

Feel horrible but tomorrows another day.

Yo Nuxx, i've been following your thread and gaining inspiration from your journey. I'm on a similar path. Sounds like you had a tough day, which is bound to happen with poker. Either we win, or we learn, we never lose. Smart move taking a couple days off, but I'm sure when you return you'll be hungrier and more prepared than ever. Hi everyone, sorry for not being here in a while. I figured out I had some tilt issues and needed to cut myself away and get on top of them. I cashed out but deposited 200 bucks around a week ago and started grinding pretty hard. My goal is to play 100k hands by the end of September.

Here's the progress so far, I had a terrible start to 16nl ( literally coolers / unavoidable situations ) but then in a couple hundred hands it turned around quickly. It's pretty strange.. there's more out and out whales playing 16nl than there is 10nl zoom, but some better regs too.



I haven't felt badly tilted throughout the last 30k hands which is definitely a plus. I think the key is a positive mindset and good things just happen. I'll probably invest in starshelper as I find it helps make each stake feel identical and eliminates the issues with adjusting to the new dollar amounts and bet sizings. As usual I'll try post daily updates and hands! As of now I'm playing 16nl zoom.
