For those of you that don't know me, my name is Doug Polk. I am widely known for being the best HUNL player in the world, and in the last couple of years have transitioned over to more live tournaments and twitch streaming.

I think that in today's day and age, a lot of people are very much discouraged about the state of the games. Frankly, in many scenarios they have good reason to believe so. However I still think that with good bankroll management, game selection, and solid play, you can take $100 and turn into a reasonable sized bankroll.

I ran a poll amongst my followers to see what they most wanted to see. Surprisingly, even more then 10k-->100k, or $100--X in a period of time, they wanted to see me take $100 and turn it into $10,000.

This makes sense to me in a way, because $100 is an amount of money attainable to almost all people. 10k-->100k, while more high stakes, does not resonate with the audience. I could be guessing here, but I imagine this is why this was the most popular choice for my audience.

I have long been someone that enjoys taking on challenges. In fact if you look at the history of large prop bets on 2+2, I am in a way one of the founding participants. I did a challenge lord knows how many years ago, where I attempted to win 400 buyins in a month at NL 25. While I failed in my pursuit, it laid the groundwork for many other prop bets to come.

I will be starting my challenge at 6 PM PST this Sunday. I read through the rules about the fourm, and it seems that you are not allowed to link to outside content. I won't link, but I will be streaming the entire challenge on twitch if you find yourself interested in following along.

If not, I will be updating this thread approximately daily (either before or after my sessions, I have not fully decided yet) with my progress, graphs, hands, and general thoughts.

The strategy I am going to use in terms of what games I am going to play, will likely change a lot as I see what the climate is like. I am aiming to start off playing mtts/sngs, and then move over to cash as I build up the roll. However, this is subject to change at any point that I think I could do it more efficiently in other areas.

I will be playing the first 4 weeks through August. If I have not completed the challenge by the end of August, I will be taking a couple weeks off before resuming the challenge. I will also be playing 5 days a week, all starting at 6 PM PST.

I do hope that this challenge goes well and I succeed in my goal. I know that while I am a great player, trying to 100x a bankroll in a reasonable time frame while playing on a smaller site, can have its obstacles. But either way, I think this will be a fun way to give some content back to the community and try to remind people, that you can still build up from the ground in poker in today's climate.

I am going to do it on WSOP. If getting games becomes not possible I'd consider my options, but I don't think that should be a problem.

Real fan of everything you have brought out so far, but this is abit ridiculous, people are discouraged for a reason, and watching one of the most established players on earth 'building a bankroll' shouldn't really provide much encouragement for anyone.
