I have deposited $10 on FTP with the goal of running it up to $500,000 which will give me a shot to play the big game with ivey/dwan.

The rules are as follows:

1) Bankroll strategy will consist of 5 BI's per limit, starting at NL2. I will move up to the next limit each time I reach 5 BI's for that limit.

2) I will never move down limits. Instead I will keep 1/5th of my bankroll in play. So if I have a losing session, rather than moving down I will simply buy in for less.

3) If I double up at a table I will leave in order to avoid having too much of my bankroll in play at any given moment, unless the table is ridiculously juicy and too good to pass up.

4) I may adjust bankroll requirements at higher limits should opponents prove to be too difficult.



500BB's should be more than enough for the small stakes games, and having such a tight BRM strategy should help keep the challenge interesting and moving along. Creating a challenge thread should also help keep me motivated to take it seriously, since I have a hard focusing at micro stakes.

The end goal will be to achieve 5 BI's for the 500/1000 table so that I can sit with a 100BB stack and play effectively vs Dwan, or anyone who sits that high obviously.

I will try to play and post HEM updates every day. Should I reach a landmark bankroll of 100k or greater, I may decide to abandon the challenge in pursuit of playing professionally with a new life roll.

This may work if you stop at 500$ at least go to ten but ins once you get to 500 otherwise all your time will be for nothing a/say 15000 times

not doing too good so far. Just running into constant minbetting, minraising, people donk betting flops for 2 cents into 50 cent pots, then snap calling my raises and then donk betting the turn for 2 cents again into like 1.20 pots.. I have no idea what these people are up to. EVery time I fold I see 2 minraising fish get it in with air/gutshot random draws, and whenever I join in the fun someone has me crushed with random 2 pair or better on flop. I just cant put anyone on any hand whatsoever.

I'm doing this because I went busto and am looking for a fun challenge to reinvigorate me to play. I also think this strategy will be somewhat possible allowing me to jump through the ranks quickly which will keep me motivated.

So you went broke, are following bad brm, and set your goals way too high? I predict failure.

Additional notes:

This will be done entirely at 6max NL cash. No rush poker, no HU, no SNG's, no tourneys. I may experiment briefly with FR to try and limit variance, but FR is so slow I probably wont be able to stand it.

edit: Roll almost back to $10, just learning better ways to handle some of these goofy plays people make.

edit2: I will post results around midnight each night so it encompasses a full day of play, since I play 2-3 sessions per day.

just play rushpoker, i once turned my last $3.45 (rakeback) after i went busto, to $400+ in just 3 days. play like a nit and play small ball poker and only stick it in on the river IF you have the absolute nuts, otherwise always check behind and never value bet thin. i only play rush poker for rakeback btw
note: i didnt lose the $400, i cashed most of it out and now im playing my beloved limit tables again
