Hey!

There are a few things I'm looking to get out of this thread.
The main ones are accountability and networking.

I'm currently trying out poker full time and my main volume at the moment is at 50NL regular tables.
Just started playing full time about a month ago. Still trying to figure out my routine and what works (and what doesn't). I think my mourning routine is pretty okayish now but the night one is struggling.
Also, feel absolutely free to PM me if you want to team up and study together.

With regards to the challenge itself, well.... I've started already. I've got about 300kh and very little profit to show for it. Hopefully, that's gonna change.

Picking on the above, with the night routine, let's try to stick with the following for the next few days and try to figure out what works and what doesn't and why it does or it doesn't.
- Daily review
- Prepare for tomorrow
- Turn off pc and phone in DND + night mode
- Have some tea
- Hygiene stuff
- Read / Podcast
This should be ~2.00-2.30 am

Suggestions are more than welcome!

You can expect some updates now and then with graphs, hands, weekly or monthly goals, that sort of thing.

Hey GL! I started at 2nl about 2.5 months ago and am currently at 50nl (zoom), can suggest you to use GTOWizard free for preflop ranges and watch a lot of youtube videos from Weazel_1991, Nick Eastwood and BluffTheSpot. Since you're not losing staying at 50nl is ok I guess

Nick's videos are great!

Yesterday night was listening to something and the good old 'Why?' came up.
I started thinking about why do I play poker and why do I want to do it professionally.
Also remembered bbisick's post where we talk about what's our vision.

The answer, to the 'why?' question, for me touches a lot of things.
I was discussing with some friends a few days ago if we would teach poker to our eventual kids. I would definitely do it.

In my opinion, poker can be a very cruel thing, let's say.
The fact that we are playing with our salary, without someone to tell us what, when and how to do anything is obviously a double-edged sword. There's this inherent freedom but at the same time, you still need to show up. And, if your competition shows up more than you, you're done, eventually (variance).

Variance is obviously another big thing. Winning without being a winner and losing whilst being a winner. The fact that our brains are not used to deal with percentages besides 100/0 or 50/50. 10% is still 10%. It will happen. That two outer is going to happen too. But, what about that 876sss flop when you have AhAd?

Nonetheless, I think poker is amazing.
Dealing with variance. Accountability to oneself, not only to play but also to study, to have decent meals throughout the day, and exercise, and sleep, and 1001 other things. Management of financials and risk. Mental health. Making hundreds of decisions per minute, with incomplete information, which will effectively affect how much you get paid.

Poker pushes us so hard into getting to know ourselves better and actually fulfilling our potential, it's amazing.

If you play good preflop ranges and do what they do/suggest in the videos you should definately be able to win at 50nl

Was on holiday for a week after some crazy stuff to book it due to changes in covid travel restrictions. I'll be on holiday again in a few weeks, this time to visit friends and family which haven't seen for like 2 years now.

Not much to update on.
My night routine stuff was going well but the holiday completely destroyed it.
I'm home for a few days now and haven't touched poker yet, but I'm definitely feeling more 'at home' now so time to start to grind.

PS: this weather in the UK is absolutely terrible! This is not why I moved here

Coming back from holidays is always a struggle for me.
I came back on the 12th at night and barely played since then.

Also, the lack of games is real around here.
I'll add another site and my OCD really hates to play multiple sites.
Something I need to learn and get used to.
