I'm 32 years old, and starting my Microstakes journey the odds are stacked against me with so many sharks in the water.. But i know deep in my heart that my abilities, and belief in myself shall prevail against these fine young aggressive players.

My motivation for playing is to create a second income at the moment, I'm currently doing online arbitrage on Ebay/Amazon. It's not only the slow season, but I absolutely hate doing it. A lot of people think that its fun to work at home, or be your own boss.. Well its nothing like people think its a lot of stress, and responsibilities.. but I been hustling since I was in my early twenties, and now have a house, and a wonderful family..

Poker is a very entrepreneurial field, which is why I absolutely love it. Yes there's stress, and tilt involved.. However at the end of the day I'm falling in love with this game.

My goal for the end of the year is to move from 10 NL to 50 NL, and be good enough to play 1/2 Live. I'm very lucky to live in Florida, and it is the host of some really great casinos.. Online poker is a great learning ground, provides great competition, and also can put in sick volume.. But in the end I'm a old school geezer, and want to have my fun with the boys on the felt.

Mix of 6Max & Full Ring

Also my volume is extremely low i started off playing just one table to fully concentrate on the game.. and moved up to two, I tried playing three while I could play three I'm not quite there yet.. I'll only add a third one if its a extremely juicy table with some bad fish, and I have good position on them.. I'm very selective on my tables.

I started by playing one hour a day, than moved it to 1.5 now two... I had a couple of four hour sessions one was extremely good, one was extremely bad.. but I was in the zone... Typically I get tired after two hours of play, so my goals by the end of next month is to make it a consistent 2.5 hours of play to add in more volume ill work on that gradually.

Last thing I think its great to express my feelings about certain hands, goals, and motivation.. It will help me look back on this down the road to work on myself, and my game..

Just about to finish reading the mental game of poker by jared tendler on the last chapter this will be fun

Tonight, took me a while to get in the mood to play my head was a little weird my mood was out it.. Water , phone conversation with friends, and just being able to sit down in peace for a good hour finally got my head cleared.

Put in 2 Hours and 15 minutes of grinding today.. I purposely pushed past the 2 Hour mark.. I feel i get more zoned in after a big loss..

I misplayed a hand so bad tonight, and will post it to remind myself wth am i doing? I like to play aggressive, but this hand was really uncalled for.. Most my wins for the night came from 6Max.. Full ring lately my variance has been down, there's plenty of fish at the tables on full ring, but lately the past couple nights the stars haven't aligned for me to get it in with them lol.

Overall i was really card dead early the first hour with a group of fish on both tables, which frustrated me, which is what resulted in my one stupid play IMO.. I remained calm reminding myself its all variance my time will come.. which it did towards the end of the second hour.

This player is a bit of a calling station, and I had a feeling would call my raise.. On the flop my original intention was to bet, and give up on the rest of the hand since my raise preflop/flop raise was both called.. Instead I did not put on the brakes.. Also my flop raise could of been stronger since it was bluff more like .70

With a player who's probably going to call your raise when your in the blinds, and your oop i feel this is a spot where i have some growing to do.. in order to work on my game.

Wasn't crazy about the flop this was a spot where i knew someone was probably chasing, and i wanted to keep them in the pot so they can pay me off.. at the same time i wanted to induce pot control. On the river i feel I'm a much better player than this, and should of check/folded instead like i said earlier my frustrations amounted and instead of getting away from the hand i called and my KK was no good obviously.

These two hands were my biggest loses and also my 2 biggest mistakes of the night.

Tonight I made quite a few mistakes I'm not proud of, also avoided a bunch of tough spots that I believe was making the right decisions.. The session started off stagnant, once again no flushes were hitting / straights / and i was being 3bet to hell by a couple of regulars.. I have pushed back quite a few regs and they back off here and there, but they still light to their 3betting.. I just have to be smart about it cause they have a horrible fold to 3bet, and have a hard time of letting go of hands when people do call their 3bets.

So this made me play full ring like a NIT , but at least 6 max was fun.. Also after warming up for around 30 minutes and getting into the game I'm actually getting comfy with 3 tables yay more volume!! Think this will be my peak however for the next few months, the max I would want to go by the end of the year is 4 total.. so this is working out great pretty quickly.

This also turned into a grueling 3hr+ session just nothing was going .. play was so stagnant .. did get tired at the 3 hour mark , so I think I can start playing regularly pretty safely for 2.5 hour sessions.

My awesome .90 cent profit .. will take Monday off spend time with family, and have a lot of work and errands to work on.

Ty Doezoe!,

I am my own worse enemy atm .. Yes I ran like **** early and stacked off QQ vs KK , AK vs AA, and made some bad hero river calls .. Both my AA's were cracked, and my jacks lost.. But in all honestly I could of folded the QQ/AK and need to learn to control myself with the hero river calls when I know its probably -EV , and the villains won't be able to fold in the same situation..

I hit a good run of cards later on and got a bit titled at the end with a aggressive 3better , I 4bet light he called, and he bet small on the flop.. I 3bet him on the flop and he shoved.. I really can't let others make me rush my game plan and affect me mentally once I get a bit annoyed my game will suffer, so I have to prepare myself better mentally for these situations cause they will come up and I just have to get better at dealing with it.

3 Hour + session actually doing 4 tables .. this is totally going to my max tables I can't fit any more and the screen, and honestly the action moves at a great pace for me.. I played mainly 6max tonight and was a small winner in full ring.

Need to recoup and refresh after this session have way to much work to do this week so won't have a long session like this till possibly this weekend.

Bankroll $138 - Looking to make a move to $25 NL at 100k Hands if i have $500 bankroll by then after doing some calculations that target lands in October.. Thats fine long as I'm learning and progressing.
