Played well, bluffcaught blind on blind w/ 66 on K8438, won good 3! pot with AQo on Q64ss three way all in and held. Then folded winner with QQ on 245 facing donk which I called and a jam for 3x pot (and a call). I had 56% against what these two Vs had: 77 and A5, and that’s best case scenario. At one point someone claimed he checked a set otf IP because I called pre and I scared him. Fear the elephant! I joked that it was probably due to my shaggy hair and caveman beard. Booked a $700 something win for a change.

Up $1,000 2/5, down $250 5-card (AJT98ss AI pre against some AA-garbage). Deepstacked 2/5 ftw!

Just one of those days yesterday...card dead all session, no sets, no big pots. A small loss.

Another slow night, a small $300 loss. Called it earlier than usual for a weekend. I needed the rest.

Good day, on a Saturday no less (if you recall, Saturdays tend to be bad for me). Won a nice 3! pot deep with AA at 2/5, then dinner, but new game after dinner break was no good, so moved to 5/10 where I got AA four times and held three times. Twice was against the same reg, poor guy. (He's not really poor; he wears a nice watch and probably crushes online too, plus he's good looking and has a beautiful wife. I'm sure he'll be ok.) Up $1,700 something on the day.

Funny, I was starting to complain about how little I was being dealt AA lately....

After 5/10 broke, I meandered around the poker room and ran into one of my pro buddies. I told him I was thinking about going home but I was up a good amount, running good, and wanted to win more. I had nice number in my head (around $2k) that I wanted to achieve.

He said: "you're tired, go home. If you stay you'll lose it all, you fish."

(He didn't say the last part lol.)

Yeah, definitely keep posting Dumbo.

How many hours a week do you average nowadays?

Thanks all! It's always nice to receive some positive feedback. I owe a lot to the thread for sticking with it all this time.

To answer your question, RoadtoPro, I am probably averaging around 40 hours a week of play nowadays, which is a lot given that I am working too, and probably why I have been feeling so exhausted recently. (And maybe playing worse too?) This is still about 20% less than I was playing before my job, but probably not enough of a reduction. It's been hard to change gears drastically. I will probably start playing more bar poker during the week to prevent burnout.

A shorter session last night, a small $290 loss. No big hands. Double-barreled AcQh-high in 3! pot IP on Kxx and got called by a flush draw that missed. Called it shortly thereafter.

Why would that prevent burnout?

Less concentration required, not playing for money, more friendly/social atmosphere, food allowed at the poker table, no plexiglass. Less stressful. Need I say more?

Lost very little last night in a short session after celebrating friend's bday, nothing really worth mentioning. Got called by Q-high no draw on 2345dd as the pfr, so that was nice. Otherwise not much to report.

Got 3! like...seven times at 2/5. Missed a bunch at 1/3 too, for a $600 loss. No action with my monsters, no sets. Yawn.

That’s incredible man! Playing 40 hours a week, on average, with a job?

I’m averaging around that as well I believe- not including 2+2 or studying- but this is my job?

I respect your hustle my friend.

Not a whole lot really went my way last night, played some bar poker too as planned. People seemed to always have a very strong hand against me, if their big bets were to be believed. Went for thin value once with 88 and owned myself against a flatted QQ on K2373 (thought this V would call with 7x - which he probably would). Went for max value on AK475 w/AQ and won at showdown, so that was nice. (V mucked, assuming AT-like hand.) X/folded an OP on a bad flop and runout (24654) and called it shortly thereafter. -$500 between PLO5 and 2/5.

Won an appeal today, now at worst 2/5 ever. Many 5/10 Regs.

Why play kings when you can just sit back and wait for AcAs...? Just ran into AA with KK against a 5/10 reg. Super annoying. UTG open BTN 3! call. Flop low b/b/crai $200 to my $100 bet ott, snap Ofc. I didn’t even want to be at this table. Thankfully just got a transfer to a table where I can play deepstacked.

2/5 used to have some merit when there were plenty of whales but now I see it for what it is: a soul-sucking grind. Lately it has been absolutely abysmal.

Capped off the night with an epic revenge slow roll at five card against the dude who called me the f bomb on two separate occasions. “That’s bad etiquette, who raised you that way?” he exclaimed. I replied, “so calling someone a ****** is good etiquette?” He called the floor over this time (lol), feeling “threatened,” because I “called him a gay slur,” and after hearing the whole story they asked ME if I’d like a table transfer. I said I was heading home anyway. Makes running KK into AA earlier worth it. Down $500 today but up 10,000 in Justice points.

Two 2/5 sessions separated by bar poker and dinner. Break was caused by the sad news about the great Justice Ginsburg's passing; I couldn't concentrate; when I found out I exclaimed "no!" to the table's surprise. She was also an aluma of my alma mater. I remember her favorite class was on writing by Nobokov. She was brilliant and inspiring. Her shoes cannot be filled. As long as there are good people left, her legacy and memory will always be imprinted on this country. RIP RBG.

AA cracked at 2/5 by 98ss runner-runner two pair Q56r flop 9-8 runout. Reg next to V (who was extremely happy to win) says to him, "you know you're a fish, right?" Lol!

Omaha won with oesd+bdnfd+top two with backdoor flush against smaller flush, ended up $750. Made just $200 or so on the night due to the 2/5 loss.

Live cash can feel soul sucking, because it feels like every big hand matters. Multitabling online can make it easier to digest losses in live cash, because unless you're some super crusher, you'll have a number of tables showing losses in a given session. So, when you get into a live cash session, you can see that this is just one of those tables that aren't working out great.

Got a little out of line *for my standards* at 2/5, 4! bluffed straddle versus BB with A6hh v. JJ, lost minimum on TT6 flop. 3! SB v. fun BTN open (98s range), got 4! jammed on, lost $100 there. Lost $450 against same fun player with nfd against bottom two ship flop Q98dd. Got bluffed off chop by same V in 3! Pot with AK v his A2s on JJ633. Currently stuck $650. Sigh.

Just lost another two to a different fun player. You may be a better player but you aren’t entitled to win.

Finished strong, posting a small $100 loss in the end. Phew! Now if only I can get back to winning and not just losing small amounts....
