1/3 today was average. Was at decent tables but not too many big hands. Flopped a set of 3s in a limped pot on K-10-3ss, bet pot on flop and turn, V donked river 3/4 pot on a Kx-Qs runout and I just called instead of raising my bottom boat. I guess I've been playing too much PLO. He only had a weak flush.

Got 3! like three times, folded all three times.

Only other interesting spot was EP raise to $10 (noticed earlier he raised with SCs in EP), two callers, I have A4hh in BB and squeeze to $45, only first caller makes the call. Flop: 10-3-6hxx. Check, check. Turn: 2h. I jam $120, he folds.

Up $100 in five hours. Back to crap sleep schedule unfortunately. Leaving for Vegas in a few days. Should be an interesting trip.

1/3 was uneventful and dull. No big hands. Got JJ once, got some value out of second pair on T-8-6-K-K runout. That was pretty much it. I put my name on the PLO list and ran much better there. Flopped quads again, and this time V paid me off with flopped top boat on 4-4d-5d-8d-Jx runout. I had pocket 8s too AND I was blocking the straight flush. Unfortunately for me, I didn't realize I had the 6d in my hand and so I didn't snap call when he c/r me all in otr. I was a little embarrassed to say the least.

Up $51 in 1/3 and $402 in PLO in 5 hours. Will post monthly results tomorrow. Honestly, I'll be happy if I broke even in October. Nice thing is I get a decent paycheck soon to pad the roll before Vegas.

Decided to play PLO again. Stayed because the table was amazing. Young maniac Asian dude raised every hand to pot (was mediocre post-flop as well). I finally l/rr AAK33hh and he called, GII on J-8-4hh, he calls with gutshot Q9 and gets there. -$200. Didn't get a chance to win my money back from him before the floor later kicked him out after he told the supervisor he was drunk....

Another hand I limped KKT98ss and solid BTN raises, EP gambooly old Asian limper l/rr AI ($100) - have seen him do this with any fives cards, so I make the call as does young maniac Asian and solid raiser and flop 985r, GII with two others and 67 holds.... I knew I was behind on this flop but I was getting a good price and only had $100 behind. Suppose I could have picked a better spot to get half my stack in pre, but this hand was pretty damn good imo. -$200.

I won one small pot limping AKQJTss in EP, flopped AKK, c/r a pot sized turn bet, all folded. :/

Last big hand I limped AsAxXXX and flop J-7-3sss. Old loose guy bets, I pot, middle aged black guy calls, old guy folds. (I have super tight image at this table.) Turn: 2d. I pot $155, V thinks about it for 30 seconds and calls. At this point I am done with the hand as I only have $50 behind and have no fold equity. River: Qs. Checked it and he had JJJ. If only I had more chips to fire that third barrel. -$220.

Later GII pre with AA556ss and lose to xxx66 which rivered a set. -$50. Other hundred or so I lost were from calling raises or limping and missing.

Overall down $800. I lost $100 in October not counting promos.

November off to a bad start.

A little monthly breakdown....

165 hours in October (casino and home games - for those paying attention, home games were not counted in previous post), +$10 overall (not including promos) for a whopping 0.06 bb/hr!

I think it's fair to say I made it rain in October.

Average session length: 6.6 hours (notice this is much longer than previous months'). Average win: $65.

Aggregate hourly is down to $12.16 (3.76 bb/hr.), $13.2 in NLHE (1/3 and 2/5 combined), and $1.67/hr. in Omaha.

Roll is around $4,800.

Up to 475 hours since I started tracking in the app.

Goals for November: bluff less (including preflop), control tilt.

Life: went to gym, went on OKCupid date, got laid. Yee!

Let's run it up in November and Vegas!!!!

Your hourly volume for a "rec" is sick!

It's one of the pet peeves I have with the LLSNL forum, as a lot of the posters are still under the very misguided notion that a lot of their opponents are just "recs" who haven't been around the block. But a bunch of recs put it sick volume and have therefore seen a thing or two. I only get in about 550 hours a year, but my guess is the majority of my opponents get in more volume than I do. I talked with this old guy the other day (likely a ~breakevenish to small winner OMC) and he gets in 5 four sessions per week, which puts him at ~2000 hours of "rec" poker a year.

Played very long session. Lost money. Why the long session? Needed to get to normal sleep schedule, so pulled all-nighter. Drank plenty of coffee, and didn't feel too fatigued until near the end.

Played 1/3 all night/day. Was at table with a couple crushers which was interesting to observe. First hand I 3! AK and jammed K-9-2r. Fishy V called $60 into $90 with JT for gutshot and hit the Q otr. -$100.

Changed tables, bought in for $300 as many unfamiliar faces and the table was relatively short so I had most covered. First hand dealt AA, say raise and throw in green chip, dealer says I called, I protest, but he didn't hear me say raise, probably due to my headphones. Oh well. Thankfully this little snafu saved me $150 because after I checked the flop and bet the turn, an EP limper jammed a KQ84ss board, I folded, he had KKK. Lost the minimum...!

Later raised AcQd in EP, reg (covered me) called, two other called. Flop: 9-T-3cc. Figured not a terrible board to cbet with backdoor clubs and jacks to barrel turns on. Bet $30 into 60. Reg called. Turn: 6x. Check, check. River: 8c, giving me nut flush blocker. I check planning to bluff raise, reg bets $50, I raise $175, he tanks for two minutes and . . . calls with QJ for straight. Silly me bluffing at 1/3. Didn't I just say I wouldn't do this?

Switch back to original table as second table broke. Call crusher's LP open with JJ in SB, EP limper calls, flop 8-9-Jr. We check to raiser who checks. I bet blank turn, limper raises my $25 to $65, I call. River brick, he jams $135, I call and he flopped the nuts with QT.

Try to trap with KK calling a MP open and call cbet, A ott which he bets $35 on, I call, check down river and he has AQ.

Missed value flopping set of deuces on 2-Q-9-K-T, I raised pre and planned on c/r flop, but crusher checks his top pair behind in position, he turned top two pair KQ and only called my bet, and the river gave any jack a straight which killed the action so I bet small which he called. Meh.

Flopped set of 3s, GII against nfd and middle pair, I boat river.

Changed tables as crusher left and new players were super tight, then lucky table promo of course hits my first table. Went for a walk outside to relax. Seemed to help. Came back, raised AQ, two callers, flop Q-8-4cc (I have Ac), I bet 1/3 pot, older black man raises AI for $55 more, I call, he had QQ for top set.... Then decided to call it a night as rush hour had ended and I had to pack for Vegas trip.

Very happy this session is over. -$880 in 22 hours.

Vegas!

Arrived in Las Vegas tonight. Played some 1/3 at The Orleans where I am staying this week for poker league tournaments before staying with some 2p2ers next week. The sunset was a beautiful purple. Nice to be back ten years later.

Put at table with a bunch of older dudes and a couple of my poker buddies from back home. Not loving the table.

First big hand get AdAs. Raise EP, both my buddies call. Flop all hearts seven-high. I bet, one caller. Turn 7. Check check. River blank. I bet small he folds. Phew.

Next relevant hand I get QQ in SB. Player in MP makes it $17 (on the large size for him). I flat. Flop 10-6-6cc. I donk $30. He calls. Turn: 5. I jam 80. He snaps with TTT. :/

Then get AKcc, make it $10. Reg to my left who changed seats makes it $25, BB calls. I jam $75, reg calls. We river top pair A and he tables top set AAA. :/

Then a couple hands later I get KK. I make it $17 over one limper. Three callers including my buddy. Flop Q63cc. I bet $50, buddy jams $70, I call, turn Q, river 2, he tables AQ....

I call it a night. Down $300 in one hour. Welcome to Vegas...? Time for some rest after a day of traveling.

Welcome to LV dude. The NL games at Orleans can get pretty juicey and usually at least 1 game running 24/7.

Busted in big freeroll tournament with $10,000 main event package prize. Aces cracked by A5ss with flush completing spade on the river.... Then short, went all in a few times eventually got called by KK.

Entered tag team tournament last night with good poker buddy Jeff. We cashed! (Top 15 teams got equal payout.) Made $476-$85 buy in = $388 each. Slept in today. Needed the extra sleep after non-stop poker.

Now buffet at Orleans. Later more cash game.

Played in special “grinder’s tournament” for the league events this afternoon. (Lol @ the name. No one there is a grinder.) Low-hanging fruit; no pros allowed from outside.

Everyone buys in for $75, $1/$2, three hours, player with biggest stack at the end wins.

Ran good, straight over straight, stacked someone for $150. KK held over four callers. Bet pot on 2-2-4cc flop, all fold, all in player asks if I have quad deuces - because of course the preflop raiser has 22 and bets pot when he flops quads! - his A7cc bricks.

Ended up $290, second-biggest stack. Will try to play some PLO tonight methinks....

What are these "poker league tournaments" you speak of going on at Orleans this week?

EDIT: Just saw on Bravo that your poker league event is going on through Wednesday. What type of poker league is this? How many people are there for the league?

2nd EDIT: Nevermind....found the information I was looking for.

Played 1/3 at Orleans last night for a few hours. Took a little while to get a table.
First big hand it’s limped to me in BB with 99 and I jam $100, take down $15 dead money.

Later get 99 again, call a raise, flop 9KK, GII ott. I’m good against I assume Kx.

Later 3! KK to $65 over ep open to $10 and a call. Gets through. Then call a MP open with AQo in BB and flop AKQ. Check call, turn checked through, river she goes for thin value with AT and owns herself.

Up $200 in three hours.

Played in tournament tournament director tournament and national freeroll tournament yesterday. Got to top 20 in TD tournament and rejected a 20-way chop $130 each along with a couple other players; wanted to play for big cash. Busted out in 15th, two from min cash.

Did a grinders event and made $90. At least a couple regs were eyeing the game hoping to swim with the fishies. It was comical. Sorry, private event!

Got to top 45 of 400 in nationals tourney but went card dead and busted. Oh well.

Then did another grinder’s event and lost $14. Card dead, missed draws. Luckily in 1/2 you don’t suffer as big of a loss as you do in 1/3.

Today woke up around 1:00pm, got my discounted venti iced latte at Java Vegas, and headed to the Orleans poker room for 1/3. Card dead, missed a lot, down $350 in four hours.

It does kinda suck not the be a regular anymore. Staff members don’t recognize me, no usual smiles/first name greetings. Dealers are quick to point out minor things, like not posting my blind all the way across the line. At least regs assume I’m a fish since I’m a new face.

Heading to Freemont Street tonight. Maybe a little Golden Nugget action?

Tomorrow check out and move in to Zefa’s place with other 2p2ers when real grind begins. Thinking Bellagio and Aria to start.

Freemont Street was cool. Street performers and live music is always fun.

1/2 at Golden Nugget went well. Crazy that you can buy in for unlimited in a 1/2.... There was a yappy guy who talked in fancy terms but had it out for me and thought to 4! jam over my l/rr with A9o (my AA held).

Then flopped set of 6s and turned quads, got high hand. Then QQ held.

Up $495 in 3 hours ($150 promo included). Thinking Aria and Bellagio tomorrow.

Moved in to Zefa's pad. It's really nice!

Played the Nugget's $50 daily tournament with buddy Jeff. We both cashed (he got third, I got second). The rake is rediculous with only $33 going to prize pool per buy in. Had to rebuy once so only $88 profit.

Went to Aria 1/3 after some dinner at BBQ joint near the fire breathing praying mantis on Fremont. Ended up $31. Then tried some PLO where I missed a big draw once and lost another raised pot. Just two hands and I was down $180! Tomorrow is last day with Jeff before he has family coming into town. Not sure where we're headed yet - will see! Definitely recommend coming out here with a good friend. It makes the experience so much more fun.

Ended down $64 today.

Bellagio today. Sat at table with buddy Jeff. Started on wrong foot. Raised KTcc, OMC BB calls (!), flop KJThh. We bet he jams $80 eff we call he has AA. Turn: J.

Then buy in for max and get QQ, iso limper $17 (had been doing this a lot with much worse than QQ), three callers flop Q-3-6dd, limper donks $50, I raise $130, he jams $175, I hold against nut flush draw.

Then slowly bled out over next couple hours, no thanks to Jeff who 3! me AI no less than four times. Stupid short stacker.... love ya, Jeff!

He had to leave to meet family but we grabbed a bite at Snacks, mostly comped thanks to poker play. I bought a fried chicken sandwich ($12.29) and a bag of potato chips ... for $4.30.

$4.30. One bag.

When the cashier told me the bill and I discovered I was being ripped off I asked to void the chips, but apparently it was too late and they had to call someone to undo the transaction. Phone call? $4.30? My precious time? "I'll just buy the chips," I said.

Said goodbye to Jeff (sad), headed back to poker room where I had been seated at a new table. Just as I sat down two tourists joined, both pretty clueless. I raise AJ, tourist calls, flop 772r. I Cbet she tries to raise but fails. We check a K ott. I check call $15 on an A river and she has ...

QUAD SEVENS! I got schooled.

Later stacked a guy when my KJcc went back door flush on K949Tccc. Ended up $375 in seven hours, called it a night as I was getting tired. Roommate says Wynn is nicest poker room in town. Will check it out tomorrow.

Got a ride from Zefa to Bellagio early in the afternoon (thanks!), decided to try out the 2/5 instead of walking to Wynn.

Bought in for max $500. Didn't start out in the right foot: limped TT utg, several others limped behind. Flop 733. I bet $25 into $30, one caller. I check call turn $50 and blocker river $50. He had trips (53cc). Had I opened, would he have called pre? Will never know....

Had tight image so got a 3! Bluff through with AJo. Stole my fair share of limped pots too. Table was fairly passive until some new faces appeared.

3! new lag's btn open to $25 from sb to $130 with QQ. He called. Flop K-x-x r. I bet $100 he folds. Said he had queens. Later 3! KK, no callers. Decided to change tables as new players seemed tougher than those that left.

At new table dealer calls me a nurse because in his opinion I was nursing my stack. I wanted to tell him to go f*ck himself. Instead I politely asked what a nurse was; it's a term I'd never heard used before for a poker player. A couple hands later I got KQo and 3! squeeze a utg open to $20 and btn call, to $85. Both call "the nurse." Flop Q-7c-3c. I check call btn's $120 otf and turn is a beautiful Kh. I check, but btn checks back. River is 7d and I lead $200, he folds. Ended up $602 in five hours.

Zefa meets me for comped buffet at Paris (thanks again!) then back to Bellagio for 1/3. Table was pretty good. I 3! AQo in SB, v calls, flop QQJss. I bet 1/2 pot he jams $120 I snap he has AsKh and wouldn't you know it the dealer put out two more spades. Later I 3! a dealer and she called and donk jammed $125 on j high flop. I called with KK and she had QJ. I hold. Made top boat with AA and boat with KQ, made moderate wins those hands. Hard for Vs to have too strong of a hand.

Then things went south. Kept playing, table seemed good, but got into bad spots, missed a double gutter when I'm pretty sure V had a set or top two and would have stacked him on the straight completing river. Then called an ep open with K4cc after several callers and called v's overbet jam $75 on K- x-xssc. Didn't improve against her AK. Then ran into quads with 66 on T-7-5-5-5 runout (checked until the river) against most annoying guy at table. Decided it was time to go. Down around $280 at 1/3.

Overall up $314 today in 11 hours.

The reason for limping TT? The reason for squeezing KQo vs UTG? The reason for cbetting Kxx with QQ OOP in 3bet pot? The reason for calling UTG opens with K4s?

TT was going to be a l/rr. KQo is a 3! Or fold imo. The QQ could go either way I think. Why is betting so terrible? He has lower pairs in his range, not just Ks. And a lag would probably 4! Jam AK.
