I currently have enough Starcoins to enter a 4.40 satellite. If I lose which is the most likely outcome I will deposit $10 and shoot to reach $100 playing NL2. I have zero need for money at all as I have a well paying stable career. I have a desire to get better and eventually draw a small amount of money for life's expenses.

Rules:

No more than 6 tables at 6max or 10 at full ring

Do not move up stakes at all

Use Pokercoins to win satellites and sell T$ for Cash

Goals:

Hit a $100 bankroll and if I reach this goal start a new goal.

Post two hands here per session. 1 Poorly played hand and 1 well played hand IMO.

5+ Hours played per week and at least 1 hour of studying


This thread is being used for me to be honest with myself and have written record of my goals and rules. It looks like I may not be able to get into one of the 4.40 satellites tonight due to the possibility of me winning and then being entered into the actual tournament and not being able to cash in my T$. I do not have the time to play much more than a satellite and cash games for an hour.

Entered a 3.30 and 11.00 T$ Satellites and was unsuccessful with both. Deposited $10 and will be doing my first session shortly

Played a small relatively successful session of 1:15 minutes and closed up $8.39 with and EV Adj of $6.58.

Not fully sure I made the right decision on this hand.





Reason being that I am unsure is the following:

It was the first hand he sat down for and coming over the top on me IMO narrowed his range pretty easily to hands that either dominate me or at best he has QQ maybe JJ. Calling the five beat I am 42% odds.

My cards vs his range of QQ+,AKs,AKo give him 58% edge. Ive made worse decisions but feel like this can be corrected. I should have respected his first hand shove?

Current Balance = $18.39

Played another decent session finishing up a good amount over the previous session. I 6 tabled NL2 and played 3 ante table this session totaled $6.65 winning session over 53 minutes. Almost reached my goal of 3 hours this week having played 2:07.

I am currently up $15.04 for a Total of $24.97? Pstars and holdem seem to be off by $0.07. Oh well in that case I am up $14.97

Felt this guy had air he was playing stupid all game. Tanked a bit when he called my shove but laughed when I saw his call as I had evaluated correctly.







Next one... not sure I played poorly but was almost a snap decision for me when I really should have thought more. Not a bad play overall?

Good luck getting to $100. I turned $10 in to $200 on Bovada once. So it's possible.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have done it before so I can do it again. Keeping a journal like this really helped with discipline so I am trying to replicate.

Has to be a quick post so no hands. sessions have been pretty smooth and Im not far off EV adj rate. Only slightly above it.

Last session was +$8.04 in 26 minutes of 6 tabling NL2 Ante tables.

Current Balance is $32.99 for a total of $22.99 won.

played a longer session today with not as strong of results. 6 tabled NL2 Ante. and wound up down $1.86 on the session.

Current balance is: $31.12

Up since beginning challenge: $21.12

Two hands below:

Wishing I would have played the river better felt he had air or something weak. After evaluating would a small bet possibly cause a shove over the top that I can snap off with chased flush draws? I felt he was drawing to a flush as he was playing really soft.






Next one... Should I be going crazy here? probably not but my read was that I am ahead too much of the time even on the flop

had a very spewy session and gave back most of the gains I had made and was getting it in bad against the worst fish
