I just googled that and I believe that's an AMD processor? I'm an Intel guy myself
It's a bit of a special case atm. Intel has reigned alone in that market segment for ages and AMD has just now come up with a product that is as good and they offer it at under half the price of intel. It's that big of a difference in price per performance in the 8-core market right now.
Something like this will save you a lot of money and run slightly faster, more efficiently and whisper quiet. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3K2VTH
16gb ram is enough for all but preflop solving, which is generally beyond home use. You rent a cloud server if you want to get into that from my understanding. Could be wrong though, I haven't looked at it in a while.
Regarding the discussion over winrates in zoom, I find it pretty hard to believe any reg would have, no matter how good he might be, a sustainable winrate of 6-7bb/100+.
It's hard to gather huge sample though because regs who crush usually move up to 200z so they might have crushed 9bb/100 over their first 125k hands at 100z and called it a day.
At 200z, the best winrates usually cap at 5 or 6bb/100.
ty ty max , hope things are going well with you, too!

I heard something similar from one of the guys I was speaking with. I've always been an intel man myself but beginning to think about getting this AMD processor instead, especially after you pretty much echoed the guys thoughts word for word. hmm.....
REALLY cool of you to go out of your way to build a pc spec for me, very much appreciated! I'm going to give it a think.
16gb isn't enough for some postflop bvb stuff as I like to put in multiple bet sizes, but yeh it doesn't stand much of a chance with preflop stuff. What do you mean about renting a cloud server?

Anyways, good job Clanty, nice work.
And yeah, ssd drive is a must.
Ty mate .
There's def a reg who has a confirmed 7ish bb wr over a very large sample, not sure about higher. Agree with moving up before getting a reasonable sample. GLGL!
NP, I know what a wall of information it is. I'm only up to date on components every four years or so when I build a new system and it happened to be a few months ago last time.
Re; cloud server - there was an excellent youtube tutorial on using PIO on a rented Amazon EC2 server but I can't find it so the cheap bastard must have taken it down.
Basically, you rent a computer with either silly amounts of CPU cores or RAM or both and use it remotely. Moving PIO to the server is pretty straight forward. You just unregister on your computer - move it over to the server window (which is just another windows desktop, much like when you connect to a buddy with TeamViewer) - register again on the server side and off you go.
Pricing is not too shabby and certainly cheaper than running a high end system on your own unless you literally spend all day in PIO.
Quite impressive how far you've come in the last 6 months or so. Results are really good wp. How many more hours are you putting into study now as opposed to before?

His individual stakes samples are pretty small yeah but his overall graph isn't, it's quite a decent sample size and from that graph it's quite clear he is a winner.

Do you have Skype? If so, and you wouldn't mind adding me, could you PM me the details?

I've done hardly any studying this month and it's not good enough... From Jan-March I put in a good 3-4 hours Tues-Sunday and then 6-8hrs Monday (I don't play on Monday). & thank you

I am making the executive decision to end my Poker month here and take the rest of it off to do (to put it frankly) a **** ton of studying. I've been so bad with studying this month that I now don't feel like I've progressed anywhere near as much as I should have done. My only progress this month is my increased volume on the table - this is the first month I've kept up, and even slightly surpassed, my volume goals. However, when thinking about my progress ref my Poker 6max cash game, I don't think there is any whatsoever, and it's that that should be prioritised (IMO).
I have already comprised a list of things I intend to work on, some of which are past activities I ended up blowing off in previous weeks for no good reason. This will not happen this time around.
My target for next month is to appreciate the work I've put in and feel like it has been a successful month. "Successful" being defined using a metric of applied effort, and not how much I made, how many hours I put in, how many hands I did, or something else linear to that.
With all that being said, I don't want this blog to turn into some guy moaning about how lazy he has been, or whatever the negative notion may be. However, I do want to honestly project my thoughts and feelings, mainly for myself to look back on and learn from, and maybe (hopefully) it can help spur some readers who are guilty of something(s) similar.
AKo is ridiculously spewy, also don't float this combo of AJo on this flop
That hand just seems.... so out of place, like every other hand is reasonable and (in my opinion) decently/well played and then there's that AK monstrosity.

AJ isn't std, was adjusting to villain. Yep AKo is spew . YOLO.

Lots! There's too many different things to list out tbh.

It's not as bad as you think, def not a "monstrosity", but it's also not +EV
