Obviously not great. Not run too well and like 3buy ins below ev in 2.3k hands today which is annoying but whatever.
Only 2 real goals for the month:
1 - Clear Summer Of Grind pt2 - Need 17,400 hands before Sunday which works out at just under 3k hands per day - Not ideal but def do-able
2 - Continue the rehab for my knee - Keep doing the exercises that I've been given (pretty sore but think they're getting slightly easier each day), get my stitches out next week and start physio next Monday
Ended up playing live on Saturday which meant no grind. Wasn't even gonna go but was able to get a lift there and GF was off to a hen do so would have just been stuck in the flat on my own all day anyway so was like **** it.
Was the regional finals at the casino for the pub league I play in. Tourney was pretty gash as per but ended up drinking a lot, having a good laugh and winning £95 playing cash with mates so was actually a really fun day all in all and glad I went.

Random stack pic - In for £100 out for £195
Hands from the last few days:
His proper LOL sizing genuinely made me want to fold but I haz QQ and 50bb BB v button. What you gonna do? Wasn't even mad after this just thought it was funny.
Example of the "hidden luck" aspect to poker - If utg 4bets his KK I almost certainly stack him![Frown](https://d30akgybcov179.cloudfront.net/icons/unhappy-emoji-v2.svg)
As played not sure if I should be betting flop but 155bb's deep OOP I kinda wanted to pot control - Was also the last hand of the session so was slightly more reluctant than normal to get stacked.
Standard I think?
Um, lol. Thanks I guess? Overbet piled to rep missed QJ/clubs etc. His call blocking them both seems... less than optimal![Stick Out Tongue](https://d30akgybcov179.cloudfront.net/icons/stickouttongue-emoji.svg)

H3 86cc; Not overly happy about either decision in this hand man, pre should be a fold vs UTG, flop prob a xr, turn+river could be ok I guess but don’t really see us beating much.
H4 KT; lol nh
H5 AA; think we should size up on flop, river looks like a fold
H6 33; hmm not something I’d do but guess donking flop is ok vs recreationals, river is kinda thin as we have to hope he bets JdXx which he prob won’t.
Don’t give much thought into the 50bb coolers/suckouts vs recreationals, it’s what keeps them around

Nice live cash score
Get yourself down to a grosvener, do the same again and spin up a real roll!
Hand 1 - Hand 1 unlucky, I'd probably fold to the minimum 5bet if he was 100BB from experience as I think you mentioned.
Hand 2 - Yeah I get the reasons why you check, but I think it really sucks if we xc a flop bet and the turn goes xx a lot. Yes the board is better for the cold-callers but not immensely so; I think if the board were say J97r I would check though.
Hand 3 is well-played I think, if he pots it OTR I would fold though. Preflop is close but we're slightly deeper (I'm also a loose bad live reg so maybe this is why I'm ok with this peel
)
Hand 4 - haha! I think turn is a good spot to OB as a bluff, perhaps even more so than betting turn 3/4 pot and OB river. Nice value though!
Hand 5 - (with the 33 on a monotone board) I'd probably fold OTT to the minbet.
In general though well played! glgl will be following along

H4 - Thanks!
H5 - Really wasn't sure on river so glad to see somebody say fold!
H6 - Agreed. As I mentioned very rarely donk but thought he'd check back this type of flop a lot. Set over set is always brutal but I actually think I could have got away from this on the river. Thought he was nutted with his turn min raise and I don't beat much (anything?) when he follows through after I call. Bit annoyed at myself looking back on this one
True that, frustrating when they get there but obviously gonna happen a lot (especially at zoom) so nothing we can do about it! Appreciate the feedback man and hope things are going well for you!

Preflop is close but we're slightly deeper (I'm also a loose bad live reg so maybe this is why I'm ok with this peel
)
Hand 4 - haha! I think turn is a good spot to OB as a bluff, perhaps even more so than betting turn 3/4 pot and OB river. Nice value though!
Hand 5 - (with the 33 on a monotone board) I'd probably fold OTT to the minbet.

Thanks man! Yeah I actually pretty rarely play live but games are so good that I should def make the effort to put in more hours! Kinda hard at the moment since I'm not able to drive but when I'm back to full fitness and get a new car sorted then I'll be looking to play more regularly!
H1 - Agreed. Would have just lol folded to the 5bet if we were deep given his ******ed sizing lol. Really thought he had it but didn't really feel like folding to a shortstacker
H2 - Yeah that's fair. As I said was playing it to kinda pot control a bit but I do think leading flop is probably better than x-ing overall.
H3 - Can't deny it I'm a sucker for a suited 1 gapper... So def on board with you saying peel
H4 - Thanks, still think his call is lol but def wasn't complaining!
H5 - Probably bad but the turn peel was somewhat just boat mining, I kinda thought he was nutted after the min raise and like I mentioned think I could/should have found a fold OTR.
Anyway appreciate the feedback mate and think i mentioned but enjoying your thread too, good to have you on board!

Won the pub live donkament I run last night, was a quiet night but a win is a win and puts me clear at the top of the league which is nice.
Been a good start to today too, feel like I've really been playing my A game so far and currently +just under 4 buy ins in ~2100 hands.

H3 - Not gonna lie, I probably fold this pretty close to never actually in game... Is that really terrible? Know it's a biiiit loose but thought it'd be ok. That said it is probably the very bottom of my range. I'd c/raise flop most of the time so not actually sure why I donked here. Pretty funny though cause I reeeeally rarely donk flops yet 2 hands here I'm doing it haha.

Yeah we don't really beat anything in H6, plus it's just not a very common line by recreationals as a bluff, so fine to let it go otr.

Don't think pre w 86s is terrible, but assuming we're faced with a reg who opens ~20% UTG don't think it's something we need to defend. Gonna be difficult playing OOP and make a profit here, and him 3x'ing also means we should fold more.

Monday was pretty terrible, ran like 3 buy ins below ev and dropped just under 4 buy ins.
Yesterday was really good, managed just over 3k hands and won back everything I lost on Monday plus a little bit extra - Was up 6 buy ins at one point but had this hand right at the end of the last session which I wasn't too sure about. Feel like I misplayed it but not sure what's best.
Would flat AK in position vs UTG a lot but OOP not sure how much I like that. C-bet flop or not? As played maybe c/jam turn is better? (Obviously same result anyway but this leaves me in a weird spot with just 1/2 pot behind if I brick everything)

Siiiigh. Completely standard I know, just annoying because feel like it's been happening a lot lately and would have got me back to almost even and feeling good. Instead here I am stuck 2.5 buy ins after 200 hands.
That's OK though, back to it after the break and comeback starts here!

Fwiw I agree with you man. Frustrating but actually OK with my play for almost all of it. Maybe played slightly more aggro than I had to in a few spots which is ok but probably increased the variance a little more than I wanted to. Haven't butchered any hands for stacks though so don't feel too bad.
Just gotta grind through it and look forward to things turning around, hope you're running better now

Won't let me edit the above post now but played a few hundred more hands and got back to only being down $27 and having + 5 ev bb/100 for the day so calling it at least a moral win.
The entire comeback came from smallish pots where I made hands, picked off a few bluffs and sucessfully bluffed the **** out of people when this came on spotify:
Such a good "F U I'm winning this pot" song!

Played two sessions tonight - One for 1800 hands and then another slightly shorter one after dinner for ~1200.
Pretty funny cause I was trying to play pretty ABC to reduce variance after running so badly yesterday... and while I managed that pretty succesfully at least for the first session stacks were flying everywhere later haha. Between hands 1500-2500 on the graph is pretty crazy considering I was playing TAG and 3betting way less than normal tonight! Also cleared another $22 in 1st deposit bonus/rakeback but couldn't figure out how to get that on the graph so not a bad day results wise overall. Also ran above ev which makes a nice change from recently!

Pretty sure my last 4 days have been something like:
Lose 4 buy ins
Win 5.5 buy ins
Lose 3 buy ins
Win 4 buy ins (including rakeback)
Swiiiiiiiiiiings!
Too tired to do hands now but there's a few fun ones so will get some up tomorrow!
In other news I got the dressing on my knee changed this morning - All fine with the stitches and I get them out on Tuesday. Also saw my knee/leg for the first time since the operation and was pleasantly surprised how not-gruesome it was - Was totally expecting it to look horrific so that was nice!
Finally, I now have a Snorlax and a Gengar in Pokemon Go. They were always my favs as a kid so life is good
Off to a wedding tomorrow so gonna try and get a session or two in before that!

Neglected this thread recently!
Truth be told I think I've only played about 900 hands in the past 9 days and they were all on Monday (won a small amount).
I've had to go through to Clydebank once more to get a check up and stitches out on my knee which was fine but time consuming. In addition I've been doing my exercises, physio, looking for a new job and having a social life and been going to some fringe stuff since it's August in Edinburgh and things in town are mad as always.
Still very early days on my cruciate rehab but physio said I'm doing better than expected and really well, just need to keep up my exercises but I'm off pain killers and crutches and moving a lot more freely than I was even a week ago. Even made it to the gym (just doing upper body obvs!) for the first time since my operation yesterday - Got so much weaker after a few weeks off but to be expected and can hopefully build it back up over the next month or two!
So have been v busy but I fell a bit behind on the Summer of Grind promo which left me needing to play 9k hands in the final 2 days for the second $ bonus. Got there in the end but the last few k hands just felt like a slog and was happy when it was over to be honest.
I'm just a rec but needing to play for so long and frankly running terribly over those last two days just left me feeling a bit burned out and wanting a while off poker as well.
Results were extremely disappointing if I'm being honest - Pretty much break even in ev bb/100 over the 60k hands:
![](https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/cache.php?img=http%3A%2F%2Fi1276.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fy464%2FSiCro43%2FZoom%2520Graphs%2FSOG%2520results_zpsy4hwwyff.png)

By far the biggest downswing came at the end - a lot of this was down to coolers and bad beats but I'm sure it's safe to say I was autopiloting and folding marginal spots to reduce variance and speed up the hands per hour by that point too.
Got $300 from the promo plus probably another $110 or so in rakeback from other bonuses so still ended up making money for the promo overall but obviously results could have been better.
Pretty much bubbled a small live tournament at the weekend (FT'd and came 8th with top 6 paying) Guy (who obv went on to win...) limps UTG with TT and then tanks for like 2 minutes before calling my 12bb all in lol. My K
Q
somehow doesn't get there.
Not gonna bother posting the biggest pots because they're mainly just
AA v KK and KK < AK all in pre type standard boring coolers and beats but here's a few funny hands from the end of the SoG promo:
These 3 hands happened within literally about 1 minute of each other... Impressed I didn't tilt tbh!
Obv same result but should have gone slightly bigger on turn so I can jam for pot on river but don't thiiiiiink the 88 hand is too thin vs a river check when I think a lot of his range is AsX?
Open to comments on all of them anyway.
Wasn't too sure on this one?
Not all bad though!![Wink](https://d30akgybcov179.cloudfront.net/icons/wink-emoji-v2.svg)
Going to try and get back to grinding online again today or tomorrow and will hopefully have some more interesting updates then!

Obv same result but should have gone slightly bigger on turn so I can jam for pot on river but don't thiiiiiink the 88 hand is too thin vs a river check when I think a lot of his range is AsX?
Open to comments on all of them anyway.
Wasn't too sure on this one?

I'm guessing it's to not give away free info to any of his opponents that might be reading this. Small gains but gains nevertheless

He'd done this once already so I wasn't worried about UTG having a monster although actually expected to lose a decent %age of the time when I get overcalled by the BB lolz
I should probably play Friday night's more often...

Sup guys, hope everyone is well
Wasn't too happy with results and some of the play in my last update, pleased to say things have been going pretty well since then.
![](https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/cache.php?img=http%3A%2F%2Fi1276.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fy464%2FSiCro43%2FZoom%2520Graphs%2FAfterSoG_zpsf5txaff4.png)
Graph is from the 15th of August cause that's the day after the Summer of Grind promo finished and left me feeling a bit over the grind and kinda burned out.
Volume has nosedived as you can see (like 9k hands in ~4 weeks lol) but results have been pretty pleasing. Slow and steady profits which I suppose is what you want.
Obviously it's better to play when you want to and are feeling good and motivated but must admit I didn't think it'd make such a drastic difference to my results at the micros.
Plan going forward is still to try and play 1k hands a day on average but I'm going to play when I want to and I'm not going to sweat it if I miss days or skip grinding if I'm not feeling it etc. Would rather have lower volume and work on improving rather than just grinding volume and rakeback for the sake of it
There's a 6max tournament tonight as part of the GUKPT which is in town this week and I'm debating playing it but not sure I'm in the mood for a serious 8-12 hour grind so will see how I feel tonight. Would have fired a satellite or 2 for the main event but myself and a few guys are off to Aberdeen to visit our mate and have a night this weekend so I'd be away for day 2 which means no luckboxing the main for me.
Away from poker things have been pretty hectic the past week or two. I'm looking for a new job at the moment and have had various interviews to prep for and what not. Small chance I'll be moving to Newcastle but not sure I'd take the job even if they offer me it and interview isn't until a week today anyway.
ACL operation was 5 weeks ago today and I'm still getting physio once a week and they're really happy with my recovery so far – still a long way to go but I can almost fully straighten my left leg again and I drove a car for the first time since the op last night and without wanting to jinx it all went smoothly!
Final thing is that I've become addicted to Suits... Started watching it on Monday night and just finished season 1... So good!![Big Grin](https://d30akgybcov179.cloudfront.net/icons/biggrin-emoji.svg)
Few hands for you guys:
1. Lol
2. Sick turn... Easy game sometimes
3. Wouldn't be a session if I didn't run KK into AA after all
Pretty sick to be drawing basically dead though lolz
4. Gross
Guess I could have folded pre though
5. Bleeeh, maybe could have got away from this one?? His flop min raise seems so nutted - I tanked then decided he didn't have a full stack so he might be a fish and do this with KT/AT the there's flush draws so decided to just go with it but don't think I'm happy with this one
6. Could have folded the first time but as played getting 3.3/1 IP against a presumed fish in the BB pretty sure I can't fold even though I'm gonna be dominated a lot.
Guess I can jam flop but then think I isolate myself against the part of his range which is overpairs and AX![Spade](https://d30akgybcov179.cloudfront.net/icons/spade-emoji-v2.svg)
Think turn and river are fine as played. Was pretty confident he had an overpair with one spade so nh him and he owned me I guess.
7. Not sure if I'm a nit for checking this back? I guess he maybe calls A
X
but wasn't sure much if anything else I beat was calling a jam and betting small and getting shoved on seems gross...
More than enough for now, peace!

Guess I can jam flop but then think I isolate myself against the part of his range which is overpairs and AX

Nice to see you doing well man, that graph is looking very good
Pre is fine in H4, gross result
H5 should be fine to stack off as well, don’t really want to bet/f this flop, they’ll show up with worse/draws here a decent chunk imo
H6 is std cooler, ul
H7 is a weird spot, think checking back is fine but at the same time I’d think he bets fat value himself otr, so I’m not too worried about running into better. It’s certainly thin tho and SPR is weird w like 1.2x pot left. I prob end up jamming, but not sure at all

Assuming you mean me?
If so then I've never claimed to be a 100z player? I've played maybe like 10k hands of it lifetime (if that) and I've stated multiple times in this thread that I'm just a rec so not sure what your point is?

Well... that was weird haha.
------
Aberdeen at the weekend was a good visit. Relatively tame drinking wise but good fun and hit a few new bars and won a bit at blackjack at the end of the night so no complaints!
Got 2 bounties and won a small live tournament on Monday night so that was cool. Played a quick session online yesterday evening and that went really well too!
![](https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/cache.php?img=http%3A%2F%2Fi1276.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fy464%2FSiCro43%2FZoom%2520Graphs%2FUntitled_zpsftqlnozy.png)
Not going to lie I ran like god which is always nice:
Wasn't folding and obv same result anyway but think flop bet should be a bit bigger ^
Think the hand above is at least somwhat interesting - Pre feels close/debatable but if I give him a range of KK+ then I actually have 21% and I'm getting 22% to call. Then add in the AK (which I think is reasonable) and I have 32% so seems like folding would be really bad. Obviously nice to bink it though.
Job interview in Newcastle tomorrow so not sure how much of a chance to play I'll get until Friday but hopefully get a quick session or two in!
