Re: Zero to Hero. My quest to become a solid person/player.

Another short session, another almost two buyins. Played 300 hands 4 tabling. Will play again soon. Prefer short sessions, keeps me sharper, I concentrate more.

BR = $93.93
FPP = 556.24

Got absolutely face****ed today. Not happy with how I played a lot of spots. Some were just bad luck and some were horrid mistakes/choices on my behalf.

BR = $63.84
FPP = 656.93

Finally booked a ****ing winning session at the casino, sat down with $100 at 1/2 and came away with $300 after 3 hours.

****ing ecstatic with how I played. Used a lot of pot control lines and just thought out how I was playing the hands and such. Played hardly any pots oop.

Yeah dude, pretty much I managed to get reads on every ****** on the table, bar one or two moderately decent players, I was pot controlling like a beast and betting when I was good and finding folds when I wasn't good. Able to watch people's betting tendencies and make decisions based on that.

Got coolered a few times at the start of the session but managed to pull it back and get a $200 profit off the night.

Played 3 hours.

If I hear one more 1/2 pro go through their "detailed analysis" of one more hand, I'm gonna ****ing fly off the handle.

Sorry for the lack of updates (Loljks I don't actually think anyone gives a ****), my game has come on bucketloads recently. I played some 2/3 at the casino yesterday, and thought about every decision actively, paid immediate attention to the position of myself an other players and such. Not saying how I went, as that didn't bother me as I know I played well. Back at my rig tomorrow. Will be playing more soon.

Weird, I got busted by Q9o all in when I shoved JJ on a 478 flop after I 3-bet pre and he cold called my shove vs another player who led out, so leader folds and he calls and spikes a Q, I call him a disgusting turd and finished my session for the night

Re: Zero to Hero. My quest to become a solid person/player.

So, I got really wasted and then got a root tonight. Not a supermodel by any means of the imagination. But ehhhh. Gotta do your time at micro stakes before getting to High stakes.

Busto'd my roll online the other night on my bday while wasted btw.

Redepositing when I get paid for work and then the real grind begins.

Gl to everyone reading.

Have a good morning/day

Your story sounds like how I got started in 2009. From experience I would suggest:
- focus on improving (technically and mentally), don't focus too much on $ at this point but have decent BRM.
- stick to playing cash games only if you're going be serious about playing poker. I find dicking around in SNG's and tournaments to be a waste of time.
- watch and re-watch good instructional videos
