So, no news related to the grind, but I spent last night making A4 sized flash cards that I'm gonna stick behind my monitors and use while grinding, mainly they're just concepts and ideas I want/need to drill in, with a few slogans and stuff to motivate me/persuade me tilting is not the correct path. I honestly don't see me getting a lot of hours in over the next few days or until I'm back on campus at Uni (29th of July).

If anyone has anything to say about the way I'm doing this thread it would be awesome to hear

dammmmmn son solid dating brag! You must wingman me at some hotspots in the CBD one night soon

I think the thread is running well. Keep including a balanced mixture of graphs + quick HH's of interesting spots (leaks, etc) as well as non-poker based stuff here. Things that make you happy and fulfill the rest of your time away from the tables (both online/live)... reinforcing these ideals and personal hobbies etc will keep you motivated as well as get your mind off any tilts/downswongs/beats. Ill try to keep some strat speak and general banter going so we can both get some juicy discussion + learning done along the way.

Lastly, keep dat grind on the mind!

haha I reckon man!

And yeah, what does everyone use for graphs?

Pretty much just got ****ed by variance tonight, not much to report on.

BR = $90.94
FPP = 309.50
BR savings for 2/3 = $0

Re: Zero to Hero. My quest to become a solid person/player.

haha I read about your stance on live now. Wont be too long before we both have 2/3 rolls! I went through that same thought process and banned myself from any live last year for about 6 months, aside from some low limit home games. Now I just treat every infrequent live session like a hit n run and pretend I am playing against some faceless idiot (which is usually true) and dont take the insane bull**** hands people play against me (and bust me with) personally. Main strat is to build a quick stack and avoid any tricky plays that gives the initiative to fish to get creative and **** on my parade.

for graphs either the built in one on HEM (im running HEM2 atm) OR sharkscope http://www.sharkscope.com/

There are some others people use but I've forgotten..and yeah variance is a *****.

Looking at that graph is depressing.

Didn't play today.

Which is lucky.

Because I'm on permanent life tilt ATM.

Today can blow me.

Re: Zero to Hero. My quest to become a solid person/player.

Thinking of switching to cash. Really felt like I was playing well tonight. Might try it a few more times and see how it goes.

BR = $114.94
FPP = 334.45
BR savings for 2/3 = $0

So, I've been thinking about saving for my live BR and I've been thinking about just saving 30BI for 1/2 and starting there. That would work out at $4.5k. (max buyin here is $150??!!!!)

Anyone got any opinions?

Re: Zero to Hero. My quest to become a solid person/player.

dont shoot for the 1/2 man...its a lottery most of the time unless you table select and play a-game...even then its tough to beat the game. Rake is too high, not enough hands per/hr etc. At crown im talking about here.

I'd say keep grinding and buy in short to a few 2/3 games or shortstack some 1/2 for short term then quickly move your profit into 2/3.

I promised myself I wouldn't go at all!

I'm
Considered taking $100 and having two $50 buyins. Usually if you can get HU with some noob you can just flip for your stack.

I rarely berate regs.

And when I do. They're 75 year old grumpy Italian/Greek men who limp AA on the button

So, I figured while I'm sitting in the cab at work on a break I might as well talk some strategy.

So, during that 5nl Zoom session last night I was playing a lot of position based poker, hyper aggro post flop and cbetting big.

I was 3 betting a decent % of button steal attempts, and 3 betting from the button against a decent % of CO steal attempts.

Gonna go back and analyse some some where I ****ed up, and just generally try and find where I am losing money.

I can see my game improving a lot just in terms of how I react to situations and how I think. I'm
Finding it easier to bluff catch and my pot control is starting to take, even a primitive, form.

I'll post some hands tonight and ask for opinions and such.
