Hey guys, my name is Louis, I'm 18 years old and am studying Geology at University. I live in Australia and have been playing poker for 7 months now.

I started playing last year after watching the November 9 during my final exam peroid. I had played online beforehand, but only for play money and never taking it seriously in the slightest, more of a "I'm bored, let's find something to do". I instantly took a shine to the game and started playing as much as I could, I found 2+2 and started playing on 888 poker. Busted the free $8 deposit pretty quickly, then moved over to Party Poker getting $50 free with my signup. Busting that once again. Dropped probably another $200 on Party Poker before eventually trying to work out why I sucked so hard.

Anyway, I moved over to Stars in december, and I currently still a losing player, having made no withdrawals, I'm down probably $600 online. Although I can see through my play that I'm improving steadily

I've switched game types more times than I can count, but I think I've finally settled on MTT's.

Anyway, to the exciting stuff (haha micro stakes).

I'm gonna be using this thread as a bit of motivation to improve and post more hands. I'll be posting my progress as I go and for each tourney I play.

My BRM is pretty tight atm, and by tight I mean not huge. I have $150 which I deposited tonight and hopefully this will be my final deposit, fingers crossed.

I'm playing MTT's under $10 and play daily. I'm going to try and play during the nights and study before I start each night for at least an hour.

I'll be splitting poker and study for Uni, as I'm striving to maintain better grades from now on, first semester was a bit of a lazy period for me haha. I'll also be trying to stay healthy and fit, as I live on campus and have access to the gym during the day.

Anyway, even if I don't play, I'll still be updating this daily as to how life in general is going.

Cheers for reading guys

So, ended up being too tired to play all 12 MTTs last night, so I dropped the last 2 which unfortunately included event 3 of the MM.

I only cashed once last night, which was in the big 5.50, coming in the top half of the 400's. For around $10.50.

BR sitting at around $125.

Going out to crown tonight with my mate, but only playing degen table games as I haven't played table games in months. I may play poker later in the night if the cider and jäger bombs convince me.

Have a good Friday night everyone.

So, follow up from last night. I'm keep this thread with a focus on everything I do btw guys, not just poker.

So, got the train into the city, met up with my mate, headed into crown. It was his first time there so I wanted him to have a good time. Anyway, we go get drinks first, overpriced drinks at that, and I'm soon feeling seriously intoxicated, before gambling we wanna eat so we head to this Asian restaurant called Sho, great food, we get duck pancakes but we are both too ****ed off our faces to finish the things and the quickly retire to the floor to gamble.

I don't play table games much at all, as I can't stand not having an edge, and tonight seemed at first to be going ok, within 20 minutes I was up $70 off of $50, on the $1 roulette table (lol Baller as **** obviously ) and riding sweet. Next thing I know. I'm being told by my sober mate (he works in crown so he cant gamble and had just finished his shift) to take the $170 I now have in my pocket and finally go play 2/3, as I have been telling him and myself that I'm gonna play 2/3 soon.In my highly ****ed up state I believe this recommendation is better than anything in the world. And next thing I know I'm being eye****ed by every reg at the table.

Few mades hands later and I'm sweet, sitting on $300 and 100bb. Ten lady luck decides to throw a curve ball. I'm on the button with 47o (a personal favourite) and being drunk, I'm playing anything I like the look of when I'm IP. I call along with the whole table and we see a flop of 478. I'm allin by the turn HU, turn comes 9, river comes 9 and he shows Q9o. Quickly reassuring me that "he didn't believe me".

I rapidly depart the table with my friend telling me to calm the **** down because I'm "lethal, on the verge of frenzy". Go back to Lucknow games, tilt off an easy $100 on blackjack and roulette. And then head back to poker, however $100 only allows me to sit down on 1/2.

Meanwhile, my friend is being offered Ice and blowjobs off a man who my friiend is convinced he is a cop, the man is offering my mate blowjobs off an elderly lady in a corner (pimplol?) for $30, assuring him "you can **** her throat as hard as you want man".
Which my fried obviously declines.(however he told me that if it was free...)

Anyway, 1/2 went ok until the board rolled out 5789. I'm allin with A6 on the turn and ask the guy, do you have 106? To which he says "yeah sorry bud", quickly takes a chunk of my stack and I end up leaving the table with like $80 more than I started with.

Long story short, I finished with hungry jacks and had a relatively cheap night at $250 dollars, so I'm pretty happy.

Gonna try and get some grind in today once I've eaten and the piss has worn off.

I will play more depending on how I feel towards the end. May just finish with the big 5.50 if I'm feeling tired.
