More $0.25 45 and 90 man sitngos, made mincemeat out of a few of them but got unlucky in a few / had to leave for work and shove every hand and hope to get lucky heads up. Should have hit my first milestone of $40 (freedom to play $1 tourneys) but didn't as my 64o didn't quite hold up against AK heads-up in my last tourney :P

Why are you playing on pokerstars when you live in the UK? The Euro sites are way softer and offer much better rake-back deals. Pokerstars and Fulltilt are the sites that are most popular on 2+2 mainly because of the number of Americans who post here since they have trouble depositing and playing on other sites.

Make a big +EV decision and move site (just about anywhere - just not FT or PS!)

It's a very good point. However I've started this and I mean to finish it. I think earning the bonus once I've got the $600 for max deposit bonus is worth it.

SSDD. Finished badly this time, with 3 tables in a row costing me a buy-in when villain hit their overcard while on a flush draw vs my mid-overpair

Still made a profit from ~1.5 hours play though.

Magic, I didn't notice, but are you playing 2nl 6max or FR? I'd recommend 6max @ 2nl. Nice to see you're above $50, though, when do you plan on moving to 5nl? You won't notice much of a difference, if any at all. I personally didn't notice anything different until moving up to 10nl.

How many hours/hands/tables do you play each day? Sorry for all the questions, especially if you already mentioned all these things. I skipped to the last page.

Good luck.

To add a bit of BBV:

Brag: Got PT3 working again (on a Mac and it sucks on there sometimes) so have some graphs for y'all. And they look sexy

Beat: Missed out on a KO in a $1.40 KO MTT by t1.

Variance: Running about 13bb/100 above AIEV

Hi buddy,

-> Playing FR as I suck at multi-tabling and nitting it up is dirt easy at 2NL, although I do get very aggressive on dead money and pile on the pressure. As you'll see from the graphs below I'm crushing it for 40bb/100 (~27bb AIEV as you can see I'm running very well which is nice for this challenge )

-> I'll move to 5NL once I hit $100-110 as my brm allows.

-> I always play 6-8 tables with a $2 buyin (most Stars tables allow up to $5 on 2NL but my brm rules say $2 max atm and not a big fan of deepstacks against bad players while multi-tabling, end up getting more confused by weird plays). Tend to play 1-1.5 hours or a tournament when i have the time. Looking for a job atm so not much time for poker unfortunately.

-> Tend to play as many tournaments at once as I can load up in a reasonable timeframe. Not playing many tourneys as simply don't have time atm and cash is going well so why stop

-> Think most of the rest of the questions can be answered by the graphs below, let me know if you want more.

So I may have done something a little bit foolish. I've been learning how to play Omaha 8 or better for a while, and decided to have a look at some of the games on PS. I couldn't believe how soft they were, so I dived right in. As I'm pretty new to the game I wasn't sure if it was wise to play as part of this challenge as learning can be expensive at the tables. However I found the opposition so terrible I've been cleaning up. It's pretty swingy though, more so than NLHE, and I ended with a few rough losses, but still I managed to mark up a profit after approx 1k hands 8-tabling 2PL. Unfortunately I don't have Omaha PT3 so don't have any graphs.

I like the sound of this... I think lol. What's the challenge? Does it have to be NLHE? Just cos I'm bruising the PLO8 atm

Not sure about the PLO 8 thing yet as it may mess this up. Was basically thinking for the month of september or october starting on the 1st, we both play 10k hands that month and whoever has the lower bb/100 win rate after pays the other player 1 BI depending at what stakes we do this or maybe something like 20% of their overall winnings for those hands (assuming>0).

Would be a really good insentive for both of us to start plugging leaks and put in a decent volume in a month. You need to get your ass to 5nl or 10nl before we do this though as im not grinding 2nl again lol. You will need a hud of some sort to monitor progress, can't rember if you had that set up. Happy to reduce the volume to anything> 5k as its hard to do < 4 tabling.

What do you think?

Sounds interesting... like the idea but whether it happens or not will depend on whether I actually have enough tome to devote to it or not. Tbh I hope not as I hope to have a full-time job soon! I have PT3 so can track progress. I think abetter prize for the winner which doesn't involve the winner getting loser's money making it less worthwhile. Prefer the loser to buy the beers when we eventually meet up again

Crushing 2NL today as have some hours to kill, will post an update later today.

p.s. People play weird at 2NL. Got KK slowplayed into me against 4 opponents, UTG limped, i raise from BB with TT and they flat my 7BB raise UTG w/ KK and 3 others call... he slowplays it all the way to the river... so strange. This is why I refuse to buy in deepstacked into these lol.

Finished my session for today, up to 4k hands at 2NLHE now and crushing it for 43bb/100 (29bb/100 AIEV - nice to still be running hot). Not had the time for tournaments and tbh I don't see any point given how much I'm destroying these cash games atm. Running 12 tables at once comfortably now, which definitely increases the $/hour. Will post graphs at 5k hands (hopefully in a few days).

And so the truly horrific downswing begins. I won't bore you all with the details, pretty standard, sets against flush on river, straight against FH on river, flopped straight vs turned flush, you know the drill. This hand history sums up my session fairly well.

As promised, the graph for (just under) 5k hands at 2NL. Still on a downer, keep making bad calls and running into big pairs. Hoping a day or so off will bring me back around again. Some good fortune in OM8 means I'm up for the day though.

Decided to take a few days break as wasn't running well and needed some time to sort myself out (crashed my car a few days back and been dealing with that). Played a few hundred hands tonight 12-tabling 2NL as usual. Hit a few hands and scored a few bluffs, but missed a lot of AK/AQ hands to mid-pairs too.

Feeling the "days played" thing isn't working as only managing a few hundred hands a day anyway, so it's pretty meaningless. Will just post br from now on, and graphs at 5k hand milestones with a tourney graph if I have the time to play any more (not likely atm).

Current Bankroll: $66.00

Next milestone creeping up, $100 gives me 20x buyins at 5NL, so will be looking forwards to 5NL freedom. Maybe we can do that winrate challenge then too, statue, if we both have time.

Thanks man,

Yeah I'm just gonna power on through. Might take a day's break as I simply havn't seen anything like it before - how I'm not down more I will never know. I started off getting nothing playable and praying for better cards, in the end I was praying to get trash again as at least I was just folding rather than getting stacked. I keep telling myself it's only a ~3k hand downswing and I'm just being a little girl about it

Also the EV line in PT3 doesn't make me feel any better. It still tells me I'm running above EV. Obviously it doesn't take into account money I got in good only to get outdrawn or the crazy number of coolers I've been dealt this week :S But again, I need to just man up and quit complaining. Got a week before my gf gets back form South America and the amount of time I have to spend on this drops significantly as a result. Time to get grinding!

It did indeed, thanks man. I know it's not a particularly good stat for measuring how well I SHOULD be doing, but it's as good as I've got. Fact is, running bad or good, doesn't make a blind bit of difference to this challenge I suppose. I'd happily suck out AK vs AA all day so long if it gets me to $600... and I guess so would everyone else
