I heard from people that tried getting added to the final 3 month of a lease that it wasn't long enough.

I'll make an update at the end of the month. I had a really ****ty 2 week span where i didn't even play the games I was supposed to and basically just wasted time.

My current plan is still to try to get SNE although it will be much tougher than I orginally thought due to lack of $60s that run.

So yeah one of my friends was just in customs for 6 hours, strip searched, and told he's banned from Canada for 1 yr for crossing too much without a visitors pass or dual citizenship.

Seriously hate this piece of **** country we live in so ****ing much.

Pretty much feel like my life is over. No way to make money now.....can't even leave the country to make it.

Greear10 - lame - sorry to hear that. I wonder what's going on. I've had no issues crossing or getting the Nexus pass with the people having full knowledge of what I do. What was the reason for banning him? Simply that he is crossing too much?

He actually crosses the least frequent of us 4. Me and Sukel21 cross together 5/6 days a week.

He got denied once because his buddies car has weed residue under the seats and his name is flagged in their system. When we signed out lease though he went into customs and showed them the lease and they said everything was good to go, now this.

It's unreal because I asked multiple border patrol if what we're doing it ok, and all said yes, just make sure you aren't in Canada >6 months out of the year.

I am going to try crossing tomorrow morning and see what happens.

I would have to bet that the whole incident with the weed residue was the reason for what happened here.

He was detained over 6 hours and stripped searched. That seems very extreme but like you say, if hes been flagged because of the other thing, it makes sense at least from customs standpoint.

I do not think you or anyone else who are crossing several times a week/month will have any problems just because you are " visiting/crossing " too much.

Keep us posted but I am sure you will be ok.

Also keep us updated on your friend if he is going to pursue a lawyer and try to appeal this decision. A one year ban from Canada, that is harsh.

Edit - I did just reread and saw that your friend did show customs the lease, explained the situation and they told him he was good to go, so really, no idea why things turned out the way they did but I still have to think it was because of being flagged in the first place. That sucks.

I'm almost certain that's it. I was told multiple times there is nothing wrong with being here for a few months and playing online/live poker. In fact, I have that in writing.

All it takes is one dude having a bad day or deciding to be on some random power trip to **** you over though, regardless of past assurances.

We all met at the bar a little bit ago to discuss our options and see all the paperwork that ole Douglas was given.

There were sheets of questions he was asked and below each question was word for word how he answered said Qs. I guess he gave a slightly different answer for the same question (he said they asked the same Qs over and over and over) and when asked why responded with "I don't know I'm stupid."

I almost moved to Windsor in June 2011. Was going to commute from Missouri and go 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Probably would've if I had a group of guys that would've helped me out with a lease.

Me and Sukel21 just got through our hour+ shakedown from customs.

They basically said we need to have more proof that we are tied down to the US, my 2 kids and his kid aren't enough. Need mortgage payments/rental agreement along w bills and they said to start requesting our receipts for tolls.

He said basically though that we can be denied access to Canada at anytime since we're not residence.

Pretty unreal how the world works. We are the perfect people that Canada should want in their country. All we are doing is boosting the economy bigtime and getting none of the benefits of being Canadian.

LOL Canadians. Re read my post bro, never did I say Canada "needs" us to boost their economy. What I said was they "should want" people like us coming as much as possible because it helps their economy, which is 100% true.
