Obv I didnt ship the Milly, busted it in 2959/49,287 for $690. I pretty much bricked every MTT I played yday on 888 and Party and lost between both sites about $330 but with the cash in the Milly I still finished the day ~$140 up.

Anyway, time to get back on the 180s grind again.

Update #24

OK, so it is def time for an update again. Last Sunday my backers and I agreed to part ways after I offered them a buy out so we (at least imo) ended our deal on good terms.

Since then I am playing for a new backer who also paid for my buy out. IMO the deal he gave me is super sweet and should benefit both sides a lot. He will back me both for Hyper HUSNGs (starting at the 7s) as well as for MTTs with a very flexible schedule for them.

The first few days back the Hyper HUSNGs were not that stellar but obv it just take some time to get back on track after my 4 month hiatus in them.

Anyway, I will continue to work hard on my game and keep up with the volume and results will take care of itself. I am def looking forward to grind them again as I just love that format not only because HU is so much more challenging and the earning potential is so huge but also because of the life style / balance it provides.

Micro Millions starting today and I am rly pumped for them. As much as I like tournaments I have to say that I like tournament series even more I think I will play about 50-60 events for sure and maybe even some more as I am in a MM competition with a decent side pool for who ever gets the most TLB points

Thanks for reading and gl!

Update #25 (MM Day 1)

I ended the day with 0/4 cashes in the Micro Millions. Busted the first two events a few hands after the add-on period, event 3 after 15 minutes and event 4 after about 45 minutes even I had a sick run of hands with 3x AA, 1x KK, 1x TT, 1x AK and 2x AQ

I also played some of the red tournaments as well as two of the 10 HU MTTs but bricked them all.

Just played a few HU SNGs to bypass the time between event 3 and 4 but at least I had a nice run in them

Anyway, gonna peace out now and will try to be up again for event 7.

Update #26 (MM Day 2)

Such a super fail day for me. First of all I slept in super late and missed about half of the MM events I wanted to play today (event 7-9) and than I was just overall in some ****ty mood for w/e reasons and as a result I played super sub par. At least I just played event 10-12 w/o any HUSNGs so my bad mindset didnt cost me that much. But still pretty annoyed about that so I will just take the rest of the day off and try to fix my sleep pattern.

I may or may not start tmr with event 18 but we will see.

Update #27 (MM Day 3)

Having a way better mood today I played a total of 6 MM events today (18-23).

Cashes:

#18 [3 Turbo] 799 / 15,981 (AK<TT for half my stack, then 77<KQ<A9 for a 125k pot when avg was 75k)

#21 [3 PLO 6m] 903 / 8,721 (was super short and 3b shove JJT8ds and someone behind has AAxx)

I also got one bounty in event #22 [11 Super KO] and busted not that far away from the money with AQ<KQ.

Anyway, 2/13 in cashes so far. Could be better imo

While playing in the MM today I also grinded the 7s on the side for most of the time. Not complete happy with the result thb, maybe I am sometimes a bit too optimistic on the river

Update #28 (MM Day 5)

Not a lot to report from the last two days. I had a very laxed Sunday and just played event #30 [2 HU Turbo] but I busted already in the first round. Not a huge fan of that strucutre either tbh.

Monday was also pretty laxed. I had to go to the library early that day so I just played event #40 [5 6m Turbo KO] but busted after the first orbit.

I will def play a few more events today. I just over slept event #45 [3 PNL Hold'em] which is rly a shame because I love that format. But I am not sure why they have to run it every series so stupid early. So I started the day with the event #46 [11 6m Super KO] but busted that after 20 minutes. Lets see what the rest of the day will bring.

Update #29 (MM Day 6)

After that update above I bricked event 47-49 but at least min cashed event #51 [2r Ante Up 2x] after QT<J9 and a flopped OESD.

Anyway, the 7s went pretty OKish for most of the day until I decided to play one more session when I gave all my daily profits away and then some more. Pretty upset about my redline atm as it looks quite ****ty and I just cant figure out atm what I am doing wrong. So yeah, a bit depressed about the current situation but I can afford to feel sorry for myself atm.

HUSNGs since the last graph:

Very nice! My plan was to move after the upcoming summer semester, so around August/September but given how things are looking atm that might be a bit unrealistic...

Update #30: March Review

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I was (and still am) pretty busy with irl stuff esp with uni as I had to write a 5k word essay until last Sunday. Needless to say I didnt finish it until that dead line but my lecturer was kind enough to give me time until this Sunday to finish it. So yeah, unfortunately will def spend some more hours with that...

Anyway, I will just give a quick review about last month since I am playing for my new backer (since 10th March).

HUSNGs aren't looking too bright atm, seems like I fall abit behing the learning curve in them but with all the training material available to me I am sure to turn things around in them this month. It is just a matter of me putting enough time on and off the tables into them but that I exactly what I want to do this month.

MTTs were also kinda w/e, no deep run in a MM event this series but there is always a next time. I will prolly not play too many MTTs this month but only a few here and there.

No monthy goals this time, like I said I have still some work to do with that essay and then there is another essay I have also to write while the next semester starts next Monday and I didnt set my schedule up for it so far so I will have to see how that works out. I am not rly looking forward to go back to uni tbh so I hope that I will have at least a chilled semester with lots of time to grind

Update #31: April Review

Sup everyone,

it is time to revive this thread

The reason why I didnt update last month was the lack of volume as I had a lot of uni work to do. I would love to say that I spend that time off from poker in a productive way but that just isnt the case. Uni is a pretty big struggle right now tbh

Anyway, after I played close to zero games in the first half of the month my volume picked a little bit up over the second half. Needless to say that it is still nowhere enough...

As for MTTs I didnt rly play them in April besides last Sunday as I won a seat to the Red Spade Open in the 500FPP VIP Bash with 500 seats GTD - that one had such a sick value with an overlay of 233 seats! Anyway, so I played the RSO but busted in the second lvl (bad spew on my part). Moreover I played a few micro MTTs. Nothing too interesting to report besides a 10th in the $4 8-max [1,000 CAP] after AJ<KT. Even with "only" 600 ftw that would have been nice little boost before SCOOP. Speaking of which I am not sure if/how many events I will play but we will see.

Targets for May:

[ ] 120 hrs HUSNGs played
[ ] 30 hrs theory

gla!

Update #32

My upswing is confirmed over now..... I just finished playing a guy (he finally declined) who just god moded me the whole time....

From his perspective

Day overall:

MTD, looks pretty ugly now

Monthly targets:

9 / 120 hrs HUSNGs played
0 / 30 hrs theory

Kinda super sad day today because my backer had to drop me.... I can understand his decision (which had nothing to do with me) and I wish him all the best. Just sucks big times as I have no clue how/if I can proceed with poker in the future...

The Return

Alright, after some people told me that I should stop being a lazy bro and update my thread it is now the time to do so.

So, after my last backer dropped me I didnt rly know how to proceed with poker. After 2 weeks or so I realized that I had enough points in my FTP account to buy 24 SNG tickets a $5. I used those to grind the $5 turbo HUSNGs which went pretty well.

Then I got a rly awesome staking offer I couldn't refuse Long story made short, I am now backed again since 1st June. The original plan was to split my volume between turbo HUSNGs on FTP and MTTs on Stars. Unfortunately I did rather poorly in the HUSNGs last week so my backer and I decided that I should just focus on MTTs for the time being.

So I played my first MTT session last Sunday and it went OKish. I made one FT in the 2r [500 Cap] where I took 7th after JJ<AA and AJ<KQ. Besides that I had some other semi-deep runs and ended my session with a small win.

I had to take the last few days off from poker bc of an important presentation I have tmr but after that it is time for the weekend grind!

Since this here is getting rly TL;DR I will wrap it up now.

gla!

I'm rooting for you man but this part really made me LOL. If there is one soft field to build a steady income with it would be HU hypers. The again, why HU in the first place, doesn't it make a lot more sense to work on your MTT skills playing the 1.50 and 3.50R 180mans on Stars? There's plenty of content and coaching available for that.

Gl with whatever you end up doing!

Nah, from what I understand you imply that turbos are dead which just isnt true. In 2012 the two biggest winner for HUSNGs $36-100$ stakes are turbo regs. Of course the proft ceiling is (a lot) hyper in hypers but turbos are far from dead / unbeatable. They still provide a very nice income potential with far less swings.

Why HU in the first place, well there are a few reasons:

1) A far better (social) life / poker balance compared to MTTs (or 180s for that matter). As I am not a full time grinder but uni student I have quite a few days every week where I am just not able to play a 6hrs+ MTT session. However I can squeeze a 1-3hr HU session on almost every day.

2) Like I already said you earn a very decent (side) income with them which can help to buffer that MTT variane a bit.

3) FWIW I think one of the best things you can do to improve your game is to play HU, at least for my game it did wonders.

I am not playing any 180s besides the 4.50s.

Thx for the rooting

Here you say you are now banned from HU hypers and only allowed to play MTTs.

This I definitely never said.

Agreed

Makes no sense as an MTT reg. Best thing you could do with your kind of hours is grind these to improve during the week and play the longer ones during weekends.

No, I never said this. What I said is that the original staking agreement comprised HUSNGs turbos and MTTs. And I didnt get banned from HUSNGs turbos either. It was a mutual decision btween my back and me. FWIW if I had the desire to play HUSNGs atm I could def grind them again. I just take a break from them with the option to grind them again later.

Ok, I misunderstood you then, my bad.

That is an option in theory but given the fact that I have some very solid MTT guys in my stable who I can work with in order to improve my game but no HU guys it seems like a too good opportunity to miss out on.

Agreed
Cool

Actual it makes a lot of sense when 1) you dont want to grind turbos 2) you want to grind a low variance format to buffer MTT vaiance and 3) you use them as table fillers besides your MTTs.

Update #33

OK, another week is over so time for another update I guess. Not that there is a whole lot interesting to write about but I dont want to make a habit out of updating only when I run good / bink something.

So I grinded the last three days in a row, a shorter session on Friday (where I lost some), a pretty long 13hr session on Saturday (where I lost heaps) and a shorter session today which ended with a small win. Long story made short I ended the week with a quite big loss. Feeling a bit gutted about this week in general and esp today with some nice (semi) deep runs but nothing panned out unfortunately.

Anyway, that is the nature of the beast obv. Let`s see if next week will be any better though I will not have a lot of time to grind.

gla!

Update #34

Alright, time to wrap up this week as I am not able to grind today and tomorrow.

I put in a night session on Tuesday which was OKish so I decided to put in another night session yesterday.

Could have been an rly decent day

Came 9/9 to the FT. AA<TT for a 4/6 stack

Came 6/9 to the FT. 6 handed BTN opens, shorty shoves and I iso shove with TT. BTN has AA and SB KT... two hands later I shove 33 and run into AA again.

Besides that I busted in 16th in the 27 Progressive Super KO after TT<AA (no bounties lol).

At the end of my session I had one more shot at a FT in the 27 KO 4k. Unfortunately I decided to spew off my 6/15 stack in a super stupid spot.... I am rly disappointed with that one and prolly even more than with the two FT busts tbh. That was such an unnecessary play I took there when I could just let it go and still have a very healthy stack to cruise to the FT. So yeah, feeling pretty mad about myself still.

Overall I made a bit over $500 yesterday which is obv nice but at the same time I am a bit gutted about it.

Anyways, I rly like those night sessions but the daily rhythm they bring along doesnt rly fit with the rest of my life atm. However I will def pull off a night session here and there in the future when it is possible.

On a lighter note, on Wednesday I had the pleasure to meet a true PG&C legend, the one and only blakkman
We talked a ton about poker and I played my first live donkament (55 FO) as well. Too bad I couldnt make anything happen in that one and busted well out of the money. At least I lasted longer than blakk (flex) So yeah, was def a great day overall and cool to meet him finally in person.

At the end a big shot out to my man ChAAnt JC who is crushing it lately

Ok, thats all for now, gl to everyone grinding this weekend!
