What's the best way to eat an elephant? What's the best way to eat an elephant?

Background:

Played on/off for 2/3 years, lacked stability. Have since brought a house, got a good job and a real sense of discipline. I can pretty much play every Saturday and a couple of times throughout the week.

I used to 6 - 12 table, click buttons, win when I hit, blame the deck when I lost and ended up pretty much BE. I've since began two tabling, actually thinking and have improved dramatically.

This isn't going to be a thread full of hands, more a place to maintain motivation.

Long term goals

- 100NL reg.
- Cash out enough to pay for 1/2 of NY trip - around $1500

Monthly goals

- 2k hands a week min.
- watch a Road to Robusto series
- update at least once a week

Role when started -$287

UTG 26/19 over 250ish hands - EP was 8/8
BTN 21/19 over 500ish

Only notes were BTN plays very fit/fold.

IMO UTG range should be pretty strong. BTN could have anything from PP to SCs.

I'm lost on what the best play is. I don't like calling, i'm not thrilled about shoving either.

First day went OK. I feel that I played very well in the first few hundred hands but got ran over a couple of times by the deck.

After around 1800 hands I feel I was playing for the sake of playing, auto piloting and generally spewing. I am going to try to insta-quit when feel his happening.

I will aim to go through the session and post some interesting spots, although any opinions on the above hand would be greatly appreciated.

Really bad day today. Got on two very good tables vs. 60/10s etc. and got my arse handed to me on a plate.

Many lessons learnt today. I kept over compensating for the fact that he was playing too many hands and did this myself, calling hands I should be 3bet/folding and generally playing horrible.

I have the session on video therefore will go through it over the next day or two and pull some of the interesting spots.

If anyone who is playing around the same stakes fancies a chat about poker, a sweat or a mini study group then please post.
