gL this year.. youve been improving your game!

Best of luck Lipo, I play a lot of the lower stakes games you play and see your name appear a lot in tourney lobbies. I follow your threads quite closely on 2+2 too.

I didn't realise you were in make up though, i thought u had yourself. I guess that sucks when you go through a big down swing, but you're a great player and you'll pull through.

I agree 100% about the importance of hard work. This year I made the resolution to get really good at poker, just like I do every year, but this year I decided to get my head down and do it. Got a coach, study my game all the time, changed my diet/fitness regime. Any other tips you would recommend for someone grinding their way up from small stakes mtts?

Best of luck in 2013, I will be following this closely. Subbed.

GG on your $109... Well played. Always an awesome way to start a Sunday as big as today... Continue the run.

yea was fortunate to ship one of the mtts i woke up for, the early 109 (not kickoff) for $8700. i have a few other cahes as well, so i'm freerolling my day

i think there's a significant psychological advantage to starting a sunday off with a big score. should play my A game for rest of day in bigger/more important stuff.

everybody tends to make some knee-jerk reactions when things aren't going their way. i'm no different from anyone else, and tried to get into HU hypers. i think spending that time, branching out, and learning something new was one of the best things i could have done for my MTT game. i enjoy the mtt grind though, and i have quite a bit of makeup, and i feel it's my obligation to clear that. i mess around in hypers during off-peak times and am learning a lot of stuff, and it's cool that similar strategies translate well into MTTs. learning another game also just got me in the habit of constant study/review again

I started off as a 45 man and 9man SNG player at really low levels. I grinded 180s and low-stakes turbos throughout msot of college until 2009. Post 2009-I graduated from college, and went on a pretty big heater and was playing HSMTTs on my own money. Black Friday didn't technically hurt me financially (thanks to some lovely friends)., but it kind of set me back in a lot of ways. one of my biggest regrets in life so far is not moving prior to the wsop after black friday. instead i just withered away for a month in may, missed scoop, and bled my bankroll in vegas that summer before moving to cabo and getting backed. i actually managed to get on my own money again down there, but busted that bankroll playing way too big and being irresponsible with my scheduling. i've been backed since with some $$$ in savings. i spent the the first half of 2012 playing live tournaments and traveling all over, and the 2nd half trying to rebuild for some future travels this year . hope this is enough of a history. i dont want to focus too much on the past in this thread, and rather look at the present moment and improving in the future.

spend more time reviewing. dont try to come up with rules for poker. add a few more good value games, utilize technology. network and meet people.

make diet+fitness a priority. a huge thing that has helped me while losing so much money, is staying healthy. as someone who has had problems with gaining weight (being FAT) in the past, ive been able to keep a stable/healthy weight for the last 2 years now and have made several lifestyle changes and look forward to more. in poker you dont have full control over what's going on, when it comes to health and fitness, you do. you decide what you put into your body, and how you treat it. i'm not fitness guru/expert, but i find the better i treat my body, the longer hours i can grind, and the more rested i feel.

also something to keep in mind, and i think it goes untalked about a lot of times is mental health. maintaining mental health is just as important in physical health. i wont go into this too much, but just remember to take care of yourself on the grind.

thanks everyone else for the well wishes.

had a good day (+$$$). will post a graph tonight when SS is correct

MTTs for the month so far:

had a 2nd in the turbonator today on FTP which is a 109r turbo. it was a 6k HU match which is really big, but it was a match i was more than comfortable playing. over 46 hands, the guy did not flat a single time from the BB. i had him dominated all-in a few times but couldnt win the allins to finish him

month is starting off very nicely though. very happy with my volume/play this weekend

have already reviewed the 109 i won today

gonna play some open faced and head to sleep

i think your doing it wrong, i'd advise stop using lock as your skin and create a new account on a skin that doesn't except US players (cake, euro club poker etc) as i led to believe they use a different cashier. Set it up from your relocated location and make 1st deposit using an e-wallet for the deposit bonus. Then do all your cashouts via your e-wallet. I did this and have received all cashouts (up to mid 4 figs) within 2 weeks. ***Disclaimer*** only my suggestion, if you lose all your monies its only my opinions! ***

it's easy to lie to yourself on a sunday night and say you're going to wake up and grind the 109r at 9am. i'm awake at 9.30, but i just dont think there's any way i'll be clicking the register button yet.

going to try to go for a short run. woke up with a swore/swollen throat though so not sure how that's going to go. also need to pick up some trash bags, for the last 3 days on the grind we havent had any trash bags in our house at all. gotten 6-7 meals delivered in the last 4 days, for between 4-6 people. we have stacks of to-go boxes piling up to the ceiling, and a weird musk poisoning the air in the room

yesterday was an eventful breakeven grind. FT'd the early 26 on ftp as CL and the multi50 but walked away with 2 4ths.

ended early last night to head to dinner in tijuana with a crew of 8 people to Kobu sushi. was a good group of people up there, the food was pretty good, and i managed to fade the CCR

thanks for picking up dinner Zima421

so far from this thread it probably just looks like i go out to dinner all the time, and while dining out is probably my biggest hobby outside of poker in mexico, this past week has been more of an exception and not the norm. have had a lot of people in town and have been more out of my regular routine than any period so far this year. things should normalize in the next week before i leave to for Colorado.

i'm playing 1 $109 tournament there a week. but i probably just still need to make the change to a different skin. i deposit/withdraw everything via MB, so any non-facing US skin should be fine

i'm liking this a lot so far over the last 2 days. dont really think fedde is crap though, but music/taste is all relative (for instance, i dont like dubstep ). i'm just thankful that i work a job where i'm able to work hours on end always listening to music. if anybody else house some good edm (house/minimalist/trance specifically), drop it in this thread
