Day 72

Not much action going on today. Spent 7.5 hours at the tables and seemed to be lots of people play 10 hands and leave. Because I am a balla!?

Kept my eye on the cashier today and got a bit close to stop-loss for comfort but turned it round. Have to say HU is great for helping you realize that variance is massive.

For now I am table selecting HARD so its ok imo.
Also, I do agree it is a touch high maybe but I am going to go with the thought that I won't change it until they give me a reason to do so. Not going to balance for the sake of it, rather do it as an adjustment if that makes any sense. Thanks for advice though amigo, I totally get your point.

Day 74

Kind of half day today as it is holidays . Played 5 hours, not many handss to comment on and posted only one myself as gonna spend time with family then friends... Will catch it up though!

Seemed plenty of fishes at the tables but did not run so good against them. Made a buy-in but could have made a lot more on another day (and maybe lost more too so whatever!).

Hope you guys had a great Christmas too, was awesome here especially with two young kids going bonkers about the place!!!

Unless villain is a fish we want to bluff river in H2. Even if he is I'd minbet to fold out 64, 76 etc.
River xb looks fine in H3, betting some other rivers.
Don't get why you're betting turn in H4.
Stove H5, intuitively I think it's fine if he never folds a T.
H6 looks fine.
H7 looks fine.
H8 is good.
H9 x flop.
H10 is obv fine.
H11 you're right, call flop
H12 is good.

Coaching For Profits @ BPC
Day 77

Stop loss day as you can see above

I think I played ok. I have not run too well last few days. I have seen a lot worse so I don't get down or anything. I sometimes wonder if I should get more angry about it? I look through my hands and yes, I see mistakes but not usually anything too disastrous!

I don't care for winnings yet or "what stakes you play at?", so long as I keep working and keep my bank-roll I trust Ilidek, Gordon and of course me to MAKE ME RICH!!!!!!!!!!

3 Sessions, 12 Hours...

Roll Update.
Session = -$208
Roll = $2011
Overall profit = $119

No worries, all good, keep getting better, let's do it!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 83

Long time no see! Will give quick update of Christmas period then reflect and project...

Been active at the tables and in the forum but took slight break from blogging over Christmas just to get that extra 30 minutes with my kids! If you don't have any of these yet then you've just about got time to make some for next Christmas!!!

My game has improved a lot over Christmas (still bad obv) but I have lost at the tables. I ran badly over this period. All-in spots, bad run outs like this
Spoiler:

SB: €25.90 (VPIP: 100.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 1)
Hero (BB): €50.90

SB posts SB €0.25, Hero posts BB €0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: €0.75) Hero has A K

SB calls €0.25, Hero raises to €2.00, SB raises to €25.90 and is all-in, Hero calls €23.90
SB shows J A
Woo woo!!!!

Flop: (€51.80, 2 players) T J T
Damn you!!!

Turn: (€51.80, 2 players) Q
Yeah baby - comin atchya!!!!

River: (€51.80, 2 players) T
Stupid game

SB shows J A (Full House, Tens full of Jacks)
(Pre 25%, Flop 71%, Turn 13%)
Hero shows A K (Straight, Ace High)
(Pre 75%, Flop 29%, Turn 88%)
SB wins €49.80

2nd nuts v nuts, shockers like this
Spoiler:

SB: €24.50 (VPIP: 100.00, PFR: 100.00, 3Bet Preflop: 100.00, Hands: 3)
Hero (BB): €50.00

SB posts SB €0.25, Hero posts BB €0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: €0.75) Hero has 3 Q

SB raises to €1.00, Hero calls €0.50

Flop: (€2.00, 2 players) T Q 3
Hero checks, SB bets €0.50, Hero raises to €2.45, SB calls €1.95

Turn: (€6.90, 2 players) T
Hero bets €4.14, SB calls €4.14

River: (€15.18, 2 players) 2
Hero checks, SB bets €3.50, Hero calls €3.50

SB shows 2 2 (Full House, Twos full of Tens)
(Pre 54%, Flop 12%, Turn 5%)
Hero mucks 3 Q (Two Pair, Queens and Tens)
(Pre 46%, Flop 88%, Turn 95%)
SB wins €21.18

you name it. All part of the game and does not bother me. All I know is that my thought process is improving all of the time. My replies in hand histories are getting nearer to the replies of the better players and the coaches (this is my favoured way of measuring progress btw).

Some figures for last 11 days...

Was "playing" = 55.5 hours (includes waiting)
Hands played = 8700
Profit/loss = -$115 (includes some RB from previous obv)
Hands posted =25
HH replies = 87

As you can see I have run 7 buy-ins under EV which is totally standard but is also slightly comforting . Also I have been value betting hard against fish into the nuts like this...
Spoiler:
SB: €29.04 (VPIP: 100.00, PFR: 33.33, 3Bet Preflop: 50.00, Hands: 10)
Hero (BB): €82.06

Pre Flop: (pot: €0.75) Hero has Q Q

SB calls €0.25, Hero raises to €2.00, SB calls €1.50

Flop: (€4.00, 2 players) J 6 2

(Pre 17%, Flop 19%, Turn 9%)
Hero shows Q Q (One Pair, Queens)
(Pre 83%, Flop 81%, Turn 91%)
SB wins €56.08

but that will turn around. I feel like I could have won at a decent win-rate over this period so I am very hopeful for the future and am very happy with my improvement rate.

Overall update...

Roll Update.
Roll = $2007
Overall profit = $144

Got some rake back to come which should be 4 or 5 buy-ins.

Overall I am really happy with my progress at CFP so far. Bearing in mind I had never played HUNL Cash before I am pleased that I have been able to stay at NL50 without dropping down (I started on bottom limit for playing so I thought dropping down would happen quite quickly).

The difference in my thought process is pretty amazing to me. I can't believe how way off I was with my study and learning before. I was going to say here that my advice is to get coaching if only to get better direction in what to study. But I actually think that its really important now to find the right coach and type of coaching for you. I cannot recommend BPC highly enough but not many people seem to listen to me when I say that! Maybe this time next year when I am making $10k+ each month .

2015

Nothing much will change.

I will try to work a little bit harder but I am happy with my overall work rate.

I will always look for ways to be more efficient and more effective with my learning and as always will listen to all advice.

I will be making $10k months. But that is not a goal, its just a question of when it happens.

Happy New Year everybody. Don't wait for it to happen, go and make it happen. Starting now.

Good luck.

Day 84

Yoyo!

Played 4 hours on rest period because addicted LDO! Then played 4.5 hours last night instead of usual 5.5 just because its back to work today and was not excited to get up this morning

Dropped a clanger and realised I have not reviewed last coaching session before Christmas so started on that too.

Posted hands, commented on hands (11) and evaluated hands (12) too so it was good productive day.

Ran a bit pants again...

Day 85

Awesome day!!!

At the tables won a little and could have been more other than the beautiful variance . Lost one 3b pot ran AA into KT on KTx (only 60bb) and ran 1 buy-in under AIEV so all good!

Posted hands (3), commented on hands (18), evaluated hands (11). Did some work reviewing coaching but ran out of time so will continue tonight with that.

Roll Update.
Session = +$39
Roll = $2028
Overall profit = $173

I am gradually becoming a melee of to-do lists! Now I have got one overall daily one with two (sometimes three) sub to-do lists. At first it was a bit daunting filling them in and trying to prioritise but now I am getting them fine tuned it is fantastic. It removes some of that feeling of being overwhelmed and I am hoping that after a few more days with it I might find time to add a few more things in!!!

I am constantly thinking about a good friend of mine who has had a major life set-back. Unfortunately his wife is suddenly quite ill and will be in hospital for some time to come. Also they have a tiny baby to look after so my friend has had his life totally turned upside-down by this. My friend is a super strong guy and his wife is strong too so I am confident they will come through all of this. I won't go into any more detail but I want my friend to know that all the time that I am working I am dedicating it to him and his whole family. We are a big distance apart so I feel a bit helpless otherwise but when its all sorted I am coming to visit!!

Day 86

Stop loss!!!!

Holy hell, this was terrible session! Lasted 3 hours but it was one of those days when you can gradually see it coming (totally illogical!).

This was my showdown line...

It happens ofc!

Was just about to post the -20bb pots when coach hit me up for coaching (I had emailed him I reached stop-loss) so we went through those hands and 6 out of 7 were well played and the other was not tooooo bad either!

Then we did a review against three villains that I lost most to in last month to find leaks and it was really not as bad as I expected! Lots of times villains just "had it" and hit rivers etc. There were few instances I missed a bluff opportunity and couple of times I could have value bet but overall I was just happy to not get ripped apart!!! Still it was good to find these leaks and I will review the video and work on this as soon as I can. (We were going to share the video to other students as a learning tool but there wan't enough on it!)

Roll Update.
Session = -$176
Roll = $1838
Overall profit/loss = -$4

Back to my original roll which is a bit sad . Hopefully will turn it around because dropping down again is not really an option!!!

Had a look at recent overall results...

and...

So I am $600 down in EV. That is a bit reassuring. Also after Ilidek saw I ran bad in non all-in pots too then I am confident this will turn around and that I am on good track. As I get better and better variance will affect me less and less. Villain is probably moving up to NL100 now with all my EV$ so as I improve I will sail past villain and blow kisses on the way

Yesterday - Posted hands (3), commented on hands (10), evaluated hands (19), played 3 hours and had coaching - a highly productive day! (Just expensive )

Today - Post hands, evaluate hands, comment on hands, review coachings x 2, coaching with Gordon, play 5.5 hours, crush souls.

Hold on tight villain! Peas is coming through!!!

Had a great day study-wise. Fantastic coaching with Gordon, learned so much. Also reviewed another 20 mins of coaching session with Ilidek which has some real good nuggets of information and made good notes on that. I feel that I am learning at a really fast pace lately.

Yesterday - Played 5.5 hours, posted hands (3), commented on hands (23), evaluated hands (11), reviewed coaching (20mins of video) = GREAT DAY!

Today - Play 5.5 hours, post hands, comment on hands, evaluate hands, continue to review coaching.

It's a bit of a challenge lately! Running bad and now bankroll is getting a bit thin. You know what these challenges are??? Gifts. One day I will be so thankful I had them... Now get outta my way, I got work to do...

Overall profit/loss = -$55

Yesterday - Played 5.25 hours, posted hands (3), commented on hands (15), evaluated hands (28).

Today - Play 5.5 hours, post hands, comment on hands, evaluate hands, continue to review coaching.

It has come to my attention that I am terrible at river decisions! Seeing as they are expensive this is a leak I am going to tackle immediately. Watch the $ roll in imo .

Unfortunately my run bad rubbed off to my wife yesterday. After a meeting she went to local (small) supermarket at 2140 hours to get some groceries and as she was about to walk in there was an armed robbery! She was rather shaken up and spent ages with the police at our house making a statement. Don't think she slept too well either so I dunno how she is coping with a class of 30 ten and eleven year olds today!!!

GL, been following for some time now!
Some pretty extreme runbad judging by those hands.
A2cc on that monotone flop: I would definitely look to raise the flop there vs. most funplayers, especially with that stackdepth. They dont exactly play well to the raise and continue super wide and all the protection you get to your hand is very valuable there.

Leave me some comments, more to come on these themes...

Song name?

Also good video but becoming bored of poker is a big issue. Not just work ethic. You can't play if you don't enjoy the game, which is what happens to me often.

I also don't think playing poker 12 hours a day is particularly healthy either, although u probably have to if u want to be best.
