Day 55

Damn those pesky fishes are running hot!! Nah, I assume I only remember when they suck out and forget the times I do it!

Had good couple of sessions. No profit really but think I am getting more and more solid and have to think a lot less in the very basic spots. I am hoping to move onto some postflop adjustments and improving my cbetting game now.

Study has been good and have been working with another student of Ilidek's who is in similar situation to me. It is good as we have quite different leaks it seems so we can hopefully work well together with coach.

Does anyone know if I can use PT4 together with PKR?

I liked your Q&A video.

I really liked when you talked about balance, it got me thinking.

I think it's important to have this balance in your life, atleast for most of the people.

For example me - By working too hard for a long period, I feel overburned and sick from work, so there needs to be some time for leisure, it's good to reward yourself with leisure once in a while, to cool yourself and enjoy life and your hard work you've done prior.

Obviously we need to try to push it a little by little, so we could push our comfort zone to maximum, so we can work more and have less time for leisure and still be happy in our lifes.

Obviously you're a beast with work ethic, you're mature, you pushed yourself where you can work like a machine and still be happy. But for young people, I believe you have to push a little by litte, each and every day till they reach that frame of mind. I don't believe that it's mentaly healthy to be zero to beast in a short period of time.

I wish you luck with your goals.

One of the nasty sides of poker is when you really start to put in the effort and talk poker with guys on a daily basis + study your game ect. it's really hard to just shut if off. Like Chris said he was out with family and some poker thoughts still going through his head. I think it's one of the reason's it is easy to get burned out when you play for a living and even can happen when you play part time. I bet the guy's that play year in and year out find some way to just shut poker off from their mind from time to time (maybe through meditation) dunno.

Day 56

Weeeee! Ran into some brick walls today!! Made full houses and flushes galore but either split the pot or lost to better hand. Made 5 hours (of 5.5 hour session) at least and it was one of those days where you can almost "know" it is coming. That is totally ridiculous thought of course if I think about it but some small tilt is going to creep in when you keep hitting better part of range and decisions will be slightly worse at least. Of course this is all part of my training and this will disappear over time

Worked my little butt off today though. Spent hours in the forum. I just know I need to get better at hand evaluating so this is the best place. I am worst player in there so every answer is something for me to learn.

I think stop loss days are really good for you unless you are some kind of work addict as it forces you to re-evaluate and push again. Just one every now and then though thank you very much!

Worth a mention... I thought I was working hard. Today I worked more than twice as hard as yesterday. I am quite embarrassed about yesterday now. But also very excited about what more capacity I might find. Cosmic

Wrt going from "zero to beast" in a short period of time... Its my belief that once you start making any small improvements then you already are a beast. I think you might be under estimating your capacity and also setting unrealistic targets. Burn out is a problem to overcome not be scared of, its like a muscle you need to keep stretching. Good points.

I agree - a big part of being a professional is keeping on top of this sort of thing. It is not just about game strategy. Far from it in fact. But don't use it as an excuse to not break your balls

Day 57

Awesome day (if you can overlook results ).

Really set about my tasks with professional attitude. I think I found another level somehow last couple of days. I sure am tired out but its pretty addictive and its gonna be more than worth it!

Back to being a forum whore. I want to be able to look at hands much quicker and see wth is going on. It takes me ages to work things out still so to improve it I am just going to spend every minute that my brain can handle reading HH's. We had some coaching with Gordon today and it just was sick how fast he reads what is going on in a hand. I haven't even registered pre-flop action and he has worked out river ranges. He reads hands better than I read english!!

Made myself some targets of amount of hands to read and evaluate etc.

Lost again today a little but EV was positive. Lost AK v 32 all in pre (he called too). Standard but funny.

Hey guys, I am suffering with some pc/internet issues so updates will be pretty thin next few days.

Commented on 11 hands on forum so far today on my phone and just about to evaluate a few others.

Hoping to do some work on my cbetting over the next few days using PT4 database and probably won't play too much as disconnecting just as I was gonna win $10k pot is meh

Day 66

Woo woo!!! Internet issue will be resolved within 24 hours! Have not played few days now so cannot wait!!!
Been studying cbetting last few days. Learned loads, I have always been poor at cbetting. Too much checking back and protecting ranges and all that BS. It has been quite interesting for me to have a few AHA moments studying this stuff. Pretty sure its not been a terrible thing not being able to play as I have had to use my brain to think things through rather than seeking opinions and taking them as gospel.
I am hoping now to play next few days then make a video for coach to comment where I just replay cbet opportunity hands and talk about the closer spots.
I am not exaggerating to say I think my winrate is going to improve over 20bb/100 here quite easily (of course cannot see this short term but you get me ).

So, hopefully tomorrow we will have proper update of session profit/loss etc and will be back setting normal daily targets....

Day 68

I feel younger every day

Great day today, caught up lots of playing time these last two days (19.7 hours) and managed to post hands, comment, evaluate etc too!

Feels like I am running well at the tables but I am sure that some of it is just because I feel so much more comfortable with my cbetting. I haven't had much time with this "cbetting more" but it just feels so much easier to play this way rather than XB and play guessing games all of the time. I have always had nitty tendencies too (they don't bluff right?) so I think not only was I checking back too often but was then folding to pressure. Hopefully I am seeing the bigger picture now anyway and I think my overall hand reading is starting to improve (at last!!!).

Day 71

Got very disappointed with myself for exceeding my stop loss. No excuses its just bad and unprofessional, it is there for a reason and I need to stick to it. I have thought of way to make sure I don't miss it again.

Coach looked over the 20bb plus pots and they were all WP so that is comforting and I do feel I played well but if I had stopped on time I would have lost less and would also have proved my discipline. I hope this won't happen again.
