#154 def dont raise flop.. just let him fire away, its not really wet and you will get all the moniez from valuehands anyways and you keep his range wide

#155 flat flop. no need to take little eq spots vs fishes especially when you have position on him (hes probably not folding a lot once he pots it and we don't want to gii vs 40-45% equity range). also its not that wet and you wouldnt raise Jx there would you? also we have position and if he bluffs flop w/ psb he probably gievs up ott a lot so we dont really have to raise flop for max FE since we can just flat and see if he gives up ott

as played I'd fold to psb ott

Weekly Progress Update 16.12.2013

Bankroll: $678.13 (+$12.51)

Graph for week

Goals
Goal 1 - Play 75 Hours Total In December. Played 26.15 hours so far this month (34.9%). This is ok as I was planning to get some extra play in over Christmas break.

Goal 2 - Post EVERY SINGLE marked hand in the month (use 2+2, BPC, anywhere!!). I have posted every single hand that I marked this week. Total hands posted (mine) = 22

Goal 3 - Comment on lots of hands on the forums - aim for 100 in this month! Only done 16 hands! I do find this a bit difficult as most people are better than me strategically. I need to ask more questions in threads I think.

Goal 4 - Make a "To Do" List for each and every day that you will be active in poker, make it a habit and post it in here. Yep, done every playing day.

Goal 5 - Read my long term goals list and my blueprint to achieve them each and every day. Yep, I am making this a habit. Have done it every day but I still have to make sure I do it. I am attaching the habit to turning the PC on so getting there on that.

Goal 6 - Write up a review of these goals each Monday. Here it is!! 1/1.

Comments: I do not want to tempt fate but I am starting to feel a "little" bit more comfortable at NL25 lately. I am still quite close to dropping back to NL10 (3BI) but the fact is I am getting some confidence in my ability to win at NL25, whether it be this time or next. That in itself is quite a good indicator of my improvement but also in my hand histories (and other people's) I am starting to find my thought process improve on many levels.
Goals are all going well except for posting on other people's hands. I need to make a conscious effort to do this although it will always be third in preference/priority after posting my hands and then reading all the replies to mine the day after.
My birthday this week might affect volume slightly so need to be on the ball on other days .

No Sir. I am at work 10.5 hours per day. I get up at 04.00 hours so that I can play before work and then I play in the evening after I have put my two kids to bed.

Ah, I see. This happens a lot I think! I don't actually take "all day" to do those things, I just fit them in on every opportunity I can. Thanks for GL and likwise.

Reality check.... I am bad at teh pokerz!! Don't get me wrong, this is not a reaction to a particularly bad session or anything. I just see so many mistakes. And they are things that I should be better at by now. Value betting when nothing worse calls. Calling when I am behind villain's range. Yeah, simple stuff!!

So, this is good news. All problems are something to work on and improve and grow.

I need to play less tables and make it automatic to put people on a range and play against it.

I am still (just about) hanging in there at NL25 and it is really encouraging to see that I am hanging in there with so many flaws to my game.

To improve/work on the situation I am going to find someone who does lots of equity calculations and try to model their process. This will help me to put villains on ranges better and also it will help me play better ranges myself. If anyone following does much of this please let me know.

Also if any followers have any advice or input on being staked then please let me know that too! Thanks.

Deepz, I would like you to sweat me (please) but right at this stage I am not looking to get sweated. I think that will become part of my weekly/monthly targets again around January/February. How come you are so keen anyway? You see loads of my hands anyway!!

because it's the best way to improve fast imo (for the one gettin sweated and the one sweating). just so good time investment and we're playing the same stakes w/ similar goals.
Spoiler:
In fact, I jst wanna find out your s/n so I can bumhunt you ldo

Maybe we can work together. It seems we are wildly different types of players/personalities so maybe that could be a good thing. Maybe we can chat more on Skype and then in Jan/Feb I will get back into some sweats.

Need to out myself on not completing yesterday's tasks!!!!

Reason is: I reviewed some hands I played (when I was playing too many tables) and I called in some spots where I was either playing my own two cards or levelling myself.

The underlying reason for this is that I have not learned how to play these spots to the level of unconscious competence (that is where I take the "correct" action without having to think much about it). (By the way, most people would not realise that is the actual problem, they would just think that they made a "mistake").

So, I realised that I am making some mistakes in very simple spots where I "know" the best thing to do but do not yet do it automatically. To help me get back to not only playing the basics/fundamentals that I understand but to also doing them automatically I have created some charts and decision trees. I am going to be using these almost extensively for a while and playing 2-4 tables until they become automatic. Another reason for doing this is that the actions I am talking about are what I think a decent reg at my stakes should be doing. So once I have got them automatic for ME I can use them to figure out more what the reg's ranges are too (that probably does not make much sense!).

I also spent an hour or so talking to a potential staker last night and am quite excited about the prospect of doing some business. Nothing is finalised as of yet but some of the finer details are now being understood!

It is my birthday today and the poker gods sent me some rungood this morning. Only plus 1 buy in but I used my decision trees (incomplete work) and felt really good at the tables.

Today's Schedule

I need to finish this worksheet of decision trees today, it is very important to me. So Tony Robbins misses out today! I have set a more specific number of hands to post and comment on too.

Schedule - 20.12.2013

I am almost embarrassed to post this....

Last day in the office today then it is Christmas holidays. This means tonnes of month-end and year-end type paperwork so little time for anything else.

Tonight I am going out for a meal to celebrate my birthday so won't play then either.

Had good sessions last night and this morning playing a lot more solid again and sticking to basic rules that should beat NL25. Unfortunately had a QQ < AK in CO v BTN right at the end to leave me mulling that over for the next 48 hours!! Nah, only kidding, it happens no need to think about it at all.

Finished my worksheet for preflop and postflop but just need some extra notes for 3b pot play. Will attempt it today but don't fancy my chances if honest. Maybe I will get a slot tomorrow afternoon to do some work on it.

Applied to join a study group (Skype). I want/need this BIG TIME! I have been looking for this for a while tbh.

GL.

Just thought I would pop in to tell you I gotta move back to NL10!!!!!

Pants!!

Never mind.

Feel like I am playing my best ever as well the last few days but just not getting the breaks (at least I hope that is the case!) QQ < AK all in pre 3 times last 2k hands and KK < AA. That about finished me off!!

Its cool, I think I will be back soon and will crush NL25 next time, pretty confident of that!!!
