Last week or so of june:

As you can see, june didn't go too well.
I've done a lot of travelling since then, visiting a country starting with J, and now residing in one starting with M.
I have a month of poker ahead of me.
Every day, i wake up and can go one step in the right direction. To turn this year around.

Down swinging shows you how much confidence you really have.
(Please note: I've ran bad this year. Not only for 20k hands)
I am always quick to doubt myself, but not in obvious ways. Rather, i simply don't care to decide whether i can win at poker. I either win, or i don't.
I either make the best decisions that i can, or i don't.
Does making the best possible decisions based on what you know make you a winner? I couldn't say.
There's a certain point where you are making excellent decisions backed by solid fundamental knowledge, and then you're beating the games (and the rake).

I've never said "Yes, i am at that point", or "No, i am not at that point".
For me, it's not about deciding whether i am a winning player in the games i play. It's about making the best decisions i can make, and working on that.
Saying "Yes, i am a winning player" is supposed to do something for you. It's supposed to give you the confidence to make those good decisions.

I am very grateful for people voicing their opinion that i can't beat the games anymore, or that i am not good at no limit hold'em. After all, i might not be. Any down swing could just be the beginning of the end. Any upswing might just create the illusion of being able to beat the games. We need people who say: "You suck. You aren't good at what you do."

You really shouldn't get your confidence through other people thinking highly of you.

Good luck, everybody!

I will revive this blog when i resume playing regularly (which will be soon-ish).
The rules will be as follows:

1) Any appreciation via PM. Write me a nice message. Tell me about yourself, about your poker, about your struggles. Make yourself a human being, i am trying to do the same via blogging.

2) Please post any criticism publicly.

3) More rules regarding what i post and how i'll post will follow. I will adhere to those rules (Is adhere a word?).

In the meantime: I just started (launched) a new project with Reid Young. If you wanna know more, please PM. Rule 1 applies.

Simon will finish "The philosophy of poker" by H. Q today.

Then he will wind down and sleep soundly.

He'll have a secret session with a secret guy tomorrow in the morning.
