Hello guys, I'm making this thread as a blog and to motivate myself in the daily grind and in my life. I'll start my thread introducing myself. My name is Gabriel, I'm a 25 year old guy from Brazil that started to grind poker (LOL donkaments) professionaly sth like 1 year and a half ago before that I used to play poker as a part time activity (play just a little but still winner), at the moment I play micro/small MTTs and some sngs, eventually cashgames at most nl25 zoom when I'm on the mood. I'm willing to achieve some goals for the year/next year, some are not poker related (I know some are very hard to achieve, almost impossible but no dreams no glory, let's get to work and achieve them):

[ ] Make AT LEAST a 100k year (I know it is really hard but if I don't dream and don't try I'll never get even close)
[ ] Get in shape (Doing fine on that my shape improved a lot from the last months, maybe will post some pictures)
[ ] Study more, review more, and discuss more hands with friends and etc
[ ] Pay for a good coach to correct my leaks and help me improve as a player
[ ] Get Mentally stronger and do not tilt mtts away
[ ] Move from micro/small stakes tournaments to mid/hs!

Here goes my player group graph so far (my SN at PokerStars is getpuzzled that is where I play the most, btw I still play at other Networks with different SN's)

I'll try to post updates constantly with my grind and some interesting hands or sth like that hope you guys enjoy as much as I think I'll.

Good luck for me and let's get to work

If you guys wanna say something or give any tips feel free to do so, or if u just wanna troll have fun doing it!

Almost finishing the grind for today, made some semi fts, some final tables till now, one at 888 which I finished 6th, lost sb x btn AQ x 44 where I 3bet called the cl, board xQxx4 and gg, and shiped the 1k euros gtd at iPoker and have just finished 6th at a 3.50+R QT < KQ std hand ;P

Pretty evenish day till now, still got 3.30+R 10k 127 left and the 11 super ko 424 left at pokerstars, don't think I'll be registering more for today.

Off-Poker: My diet is doing just fine, I'm earning some muscle and losing fat, training pretty hard with a friends of mine that is my trainer, got really tired today cause it was lag day. Maybe post some pics later for my body progress either.

Just finished 38th at Big $22, was really big on stack till that hand, pretty interesting but I think it's pretty weird the way the guy played his Aces.

Why is it a strange way to play them? What were you beating on the river?
11-21-2014 , 06:38 AM
gl with your goals

Where in Brazil do you live? I'm american but living in Rio
11-21-2014 , 09:57 AM
Gl on ur goals.

The hand is pretty weird as u say, he shouldnt be checking almost anything from his value range on the flop because of how wet the board is, so he should be cbeting aa kk qq and 99 , i think it is a call on the river as played as i expect him to be checkraising draws most of the time. But yeah it is really weird the way he played his aces. And i would really consider 4b/f pre if he has somewhat tightish 3b and wouldnt 5b light which im expecting he would deep in the big tournament

My toughts are just as vuhondzis said I don't expect him to be c/r with his value hands like AA, KK, sets and etc, because he usually puts himself in a really really weird spot at a lot of turns at that drawy board and I'm on the TOP of my range in the river specially with btn vs sb range. About what I'm beating on the river every single draw that missed and some random bluffs he played that way. I just think I played fine, also I discussed that hand with a lot of good players that also tought that I played just fine. Anyway always nice to hear some different opinions.

I agree with you, but about 4b/f it could be an option but imo AQ is just to strong to do that specially BTN x SB and is a hand that will play just fine pos flop in position even against a tight 3bettor, he can be tight but it doesn't mean he won't 3bet light eventually (and we can also outplay him pos flop ip), specially when my stats were a lil bit aggro and I was playing a lot of hands since the table allowed me too. So also gotta consider my image cause the guy is a reg, don't know if good just know he is a reg. Btw he was cl 20 left didn't even make the FT ROFL.

Ah just saved some part of the 'iron' for the day yesterday, got 5th at $4.40 Turbo Prog SKO! for $500, just got 5th after a close resteal ;P so kind deserved it, will take the day off today and hangout with my father and brother for the aftertoon, just did my Fasted Aerobics for the morning and will go to gym at night prolly
