Hello all, full-time HUSNG midstakes reg here. Currently in the midst of bankroll building to take shots at $100 and $200s, and looking to improve my game to be able to take on the regs at that level.
Last year I studied just over 100 hours, reading, making equity calcs, sharpening my ranges etc. My hourly went from $27 in 2022 to $28.5 in 2023. However, my hours played were not great in either year, and my bankroll management was a large factor in my hourly not being higher. An example of this is in some months I'd need to take out chunks of my bankroll to pay bills, which means grinding $10 games for awhile, instead of $20 being my lowest level.
Recently it occurred to me that if I studied 30 hours of poker a month, I could probably make quite a lot of improvements, and that these improvements would compound. However, a couple days ago, I became inspired to try 60 hours of studying poker over a 30 day period and see what kind of hourly I'm able to make from that. I actually started this challenge on the 14th, and I plan to only post updates on this once a week.
At the end of 30 days I'll compare the hourly of the challenge against my hourly so far for 2024.
$36.09 is my hourly from Jan 1 - Feb 13 of this year.
My next update will be on Feb 20th.
