Do you think it would be faster if you buy some play money from the site since the get go?
I think it would increase your grinding speed tremendously.

This thread is great, I actually wanted to put together a poker project in which people could start with nothing and grind it up into real money. This thread is a perfect template for that. GL OP and I may be contacting you in the future regarding needing some help on a poker project. It wouldn't take too much of your time and trust me, you'd want in on it.

Give you the details next spring, but in the meantime, I'll be lurking and wishing you well

dgi...

p.s. Too bad we couldn't do this in real life... Go from $3k to $5M in under a week via grinding cash games... How crazy would that be???

But you can effectively play 1/2 against people who are probably terrible. I think this might be profitable. Interested in seeing the results!!!

how do you sell it , can you transfer play money , or do you dump it at the tables ?

Love the idea. But please OP, try to make your updates more interesting. A little text to explain how's your grind going would make it so much better.

that's pretty cool....i guess it makes sense for people to buy these chips who love to play and go broke fast...pretty big bang for the buck but a lot of hard work for you....good luck on the grind....pretty creative way to make some dough

why dont you just grind until you have 10m or more and start playing the daily 500k play chip tourneys with real money pay outs?

i think everyone in the money cashes in 2$ and 1st cashes 5$

10 NL, 4080 hands, $122,513
50 NL, 4704 hands, $237,272
200 NL, 6480 hands, $657,708
600 NL, 9295 hands, $3,893,750
2000 NL, 10441 hands, $3,513,553
Bankroll: $8,367,291

So I'm 8% there and it's only going to go quicker from here. At 12m I'll move up to 3k/6k and then at 40m I'll move up to 10k/20k which is essentially $0.04/$0.08. I had some questions and thankfully none of them is: why would you waste your time at play money?

As for just buying the chips and immediately starting at the top, I didn't want to bother since I knew it wouldn't take very long to get there doing it on my own and I like a challenge.

It's basically a freeroll and play money has taught me a lot of important things about the game like tilt control and bankroll management. Also, sure, I'd be open to any poker project.

You dump it but I don't think you're allowed to say any of it in chat.

When I made $700 in one month a few months ago doing this I was pulling $40 days regularly, so playing for $2 and $1 cashes that I might not even get is a terrible idea.

I can try. I'm playing 12-16 tables at stats 22/21 and it's so sad and frustrating because every other player is 65/5 and will never fold to cbets, will never ever c/r bluff, and all they can do is click-raise or bet pot and are never bluffing. It is so f-ing annoying how they will literally do nothing else. The 10k/20k and 25k/50k tables, however, don't have this which I'm kind of looking forward to and I know this from experience (I've lost.. many times).

Here is a graph thus far:

I've so far done 6 days and am playing on average 5833 hands per day so I think I should be playing 10k/20k, hopefully, in like two weeks. I'm not upset that it's going to take that long because truthfully I like the grind and I've done this before.

Lifetime I'm up like 170m but I don't have that now because it's all sold ($650) and I'm now working my way back up to get more. Come sweat and make fun of me anytime. Haha. play money...

This is going much faster than I thought and I may have 100m in like a week. I've officially moved to 3k/6k and I feel this stake is going to be just as easy to get through as the others. Here are my results so far:

10 NL, 4080 hands, $122,513
50 NL, 4776 hands, $239,822
200 NL, 6480 hands, $657,708
600 NL, 10007 hands, $3,911,458
2000 NL, 13286 hands, $6,790,747
6000 NL, 680 hands, $3,249,196
Bankroll: $14,912,939

Also, 3k/6k is a little more than $0.01/$0.02 and so I've officially moved to the micros! Wish me luck!

Man we love you!!

Cant wait, for you to be playin "8NL". Clueless people and you will be able to grind a way more decent roll IMO than at real 10NL. Maybe this thread will make it more difficult in the future as more people will get to be aware of it, but enjoy it while it lasts man!!

Crush the "HS noobs" hahahahah

Lower ROI I suppose? But maybe you can do some calculations on whether they give you more value per chip than selling them at your website.

I think play money on FT was worth a lot more back in the day so if people haven't caught onto it now I don't think it'll change anytime soon. Still, even if the games do get tougher, there will be an endless reel of fish leaving and entering the game (they buy, they lose, we sell, and then they buy again). It's pretty awesome.

Regular. I don't know how anyone can even stand the idea of rush. Too much of a mind game for me.

As for the day, had my biggest win yet and won 9m. Considering I started at 5/10 a week ago and now have 20m, I am moving super fast through the stakes and should be at 100m in no time.

To figure out how much the chips are worth just divide however much is there by 250,000 and that will be the monetary value of them. So I have about a $80 roll from nothing so far. lolz. Also, that's nothing compared to the $1,000 I'll be looking to make in a month from now. Awesome, right?

3000/6000 NL
1601 hands
+6,857,284 ($27.43)

1000/2000 NL
13770 hands
+7,935,726 ($31.74)

300/600 NL
10007 hands
+3,911,458 ($15.65)

100/200 NL
6480 hands
+657,708 ($2.63)

25/50 NL
4776 hands
+239,822 ($0.96)

5/10 NL
4080 hands
+122,513 ($0.49)

Right now poker tracker and my actual bankroll aren't matching up (Pokertracker overstates by about 58000) but my actual bankroll at the moment is 19,666,006 or $78.66 and over about 40k hands. Hopefully there are a bunch of 3k/6k games going tomorrow ($0.01/$0.02) and I can play a ton more.

Actually, what are the highest stakes you can play and that actually run on a decent while??

Furthermore, how many million (divided by 250,000 to get the $$) do you think you will make in an hour eventually?

10k/20k there seems to be more tables running than when I used to play and I know there's usually always at least one FR table going and that will probably be my standard game. 25k/50k doesn't run as often but I'll play in it when I can.

My expected hourly? I have no idea. I've never paid attention to that but I guess we'll find out soon enough!
