From ~May-September of 2021 I have made very little progress in poker. Went on a nasty 30bi downswing, regrinded a bit, and overall ended up more or less the same place I was. I stopped playing poker for the most part in September, realizing I just didn't feel the hunger to grind to the high stakes I once did. I still watched some vids, replied to threads and hand reviews, but much less than I did. Now I think the hunger is back and I want to go back whole hog.

The bankroll is healthy enough to play higher, but I'm going to be starting by playing 50z on GG, aiming for ~5000 hands/wk and 100nl on pokerbros, aiming for ~1000 hands/wk. This volume was relatively normal for me. Hopefully I can keep up. I want to work on studying and playing to the best of my ability (low table count) instead of pushing volume to lackluster results.

The goal of this thread is to hopefully have a community where I can share hands and results with and feel comfortable. I'm not tracking my results on pokerbros and will share GG on an intermittent basis, but will keep a numerical profit counter from now on.

Profit as of 11/18/21 - $0000.00

gj listening to yourself, and taking a break. sometimes it is the absolute best thing. nothing worse for the bottom line than uninspired clock watching play where you`re anticipating the runbad.

Really well said, thanks. While my play has certainly not improved , I'm happier with my mindset/environment

In for the ride, gl man. Just started a new thread as well. Feel free to shoot hands on discord if ya think it’ll be helpful during those times when sanity is difficult to maintain.

Interesting hand I played vs. a recreational player -

I put his range heavily on AK/AQ type hands here, and I think I can push him off it on the river. Do we like this bet vs. a recreational or should we be underbluffing this spot?

And what about betting other streets?

Another interesting hand vs. a rec player

Do we bet river? If he jams do we call? Can we jam river or should bet smaller?

I'm fairly sure river will be a pure jam. Certainly what I'd do at least.

GL, I enjoyed following your last thread.

Agreed… Think I had some trouble calibrating hand strengths in the first few days. Thanks!

Started with 50nl on GG and been really sunrunning, so feeling comfortable with moving up to 100nl at this point due to how soft it is, hopefully will go to 200nl if the first ~10k hands at 100nl seem soft enough. (Bankroll is not the problem, my skill level is).

On Bros just basically bumhunted 200-400 games on the side. Played maybe 500 hands and lost 94$. Planning on shotting some 600nl IF I can get a seat on a fish so that will be exciting, especially since I only got 25 BI

I think about poker a lot nowadays, so I'm looking to busy my mind on my daily commute. Anyone have any good strategy poker podcasts that they can share? I enjoy the chasing poker greatness one when they do the "tactical tuesdays" but other than that I'm not sure which ones are well regarded + have good content

Wasn't sure about this hand. I think flop we can stab 1/3 with a high freq. of hands, but turn we should be going polar I think, and this hand seems like it isn't a good bet. Then river I really was lost on what to do, so I just stabbed a normal value bet size, hopefully someone can provide some advice on correct flop + river play?

KQo hand this should be a relatively high frequency bluff on turn as we lack a bunch of Tx, board is locking up Qx with pair or value to bluff and KQhi does not have a lot of showdown value after b/c. This effectively blocks broadway region, in addition we'll be betting some undergutters / OESD, underpairs.

it actually functions as an even better bluff than in theory as OOP can use a higher frequency cbet strategy on flop and probably has too much AK/AQ that x/c in this line, which we are blocking

I would barrel turn, and then shove river a lot

on this runout with ur line ur bet size makes a lot of sense as we've given up betting the turn so now have relatively capped our range, think we can bet KQ as a bluff sometimes but remember that our range is capped, our bluffs are constrained by our value, and we don't have a lot.

I like OB turn. AP I like pot-1.5x

Edit:actually just barrel turn around 3/4 since V does have AA

Right ok, I see barrel turn is probably better. In game I was afraid of the check jam with AK/AQ but that's probably not a thing, considering how polar we are or should be. If I bet turn I'd definitely go for a shove OTR, but AP he just check shoved the river and I folded. 3/4 seems like an appropriate geometric turn size

Some updated results -

Transitioned to 100nl a bit roughly but have started to run better and assumed my standard nit reg redline

Profit as of 12/13/21 - ~1300$

Played this hand today, I'm not sure if we 100% want to call river. The player is a chinese fish, plays a relatively wide range and basically unknown postflop.

I think flop + turn are mandatory calls, and it's probably the best move to call the river. But I would like some second + third opinions.

If you say call, at what size do you start folding?

Peace!

Continuing to pretty well @ 100nl regular tables on GG. Keep in mind I'm making ~4bb extra via rakeback so even the 2.5bb/100 EV isn't bad. But I'm running well over EV lol. Mainly just playing GG nowadays but haven't had a ton of time to play. Pools look pretty soft but I want to put more volume before I shot 200.
