I've been seeing you a bit more at PLO tables on WSOP. I think your game is pretty decent if you're newer to PLO. Though some hands, the NLHE side of you definitely seems to be coming out. How are you enjoying PLO so far?

Yeah I have been mixing PLO in the past 3 weeks. It's the dog days of August so the NL games have been poor and there's been 0 NL action really at 5/10+.

Yeah, I'm definitely managing to get by based solely on my NL experience. PLO is a fun game so it's nice to break it up and mix it up. I definitely enjoy pretty much all formats of poker despite being pretty much a NL specialist.

I wouldn't expect a full time switch anytime soon though

Haha as someone who grinds mtt's four/five days a week I'm so ****ing envious of that schedule.

You're doing it right man.

Cool update, your new office looks great. Good luck with everything.

As you can see majority of sessions are 2 hours, sometimes up to 3 hours. I really struggle past that mark.

I usually play 2 sessions at night and on my bigger grinding days sneak a session in during the day. I'm unsure how this sort of schedule will change with a baby.

Yes, thanks will filter out any questions to you guys.
Impressive that you have a schedule and keep to it. Well done.

It's been a nice baseline I implemented shortly after working with Elliot. I like to tinker every few months with my day to day process to try to keep things more efficient.

A few random updates

Baby

We finished the nursery, had our babyshower, and did a really fun surrogacy/maternity photo shoot with Jazz in the past week.

We are less than 8 weeks away from the baby and it's really starting to feel real.

Health

Dropped about 20 pounds the last 2.5 months and that's been something I'm really happy about.

I wish I could tell everyone that I feel amazing (which is the expectation with solid weight loss like this) but I'm feeling pretty lousy.

Overall strength is good, but I feel like an old man. My knees feel like 20lb weights have been attached to them, I have zero explosiveness there. Have had some back/hip pain and those are obviously areas I need to improve on.

Body just feels way older than 28 should feel like to be honest lol. In other rough news, having a horrible crohns flareup the past 2.5 weeks as well; I had a remission for a good 2 years so I almost forgot how much it can make everything worse.

Poker

Generated lots of EV but am most likely going to have first losing month of the year. Games are also very slow these times so did spend a bunch of time socializing.

It's unfortunate that the 2 months I've been the sole breadwinner have been so crappy; but such is life.

To be blunt, need some money coming in so September will be a hefty grind. Hopefully the games start picking up and the Jets give me a reason to be excited for football.

Haha yea can definitely not complain; would be nice to hit a 12/12 year but probably unlikely when mixing in HS

I have the Jets/Knicks/Mets curse. A pretty brutal fandom, I am die hard Jets though.

I’m a bit of a homer so I’ll say over pretty confidently. I’m high on Wilson and Saleh and think the Offense will be better than advertised. Defense is going to be a tough go of it on the back end

Very interested to see how Stafford plays out in LA but loved the move for you guys

We are brothers in arms. Also a diehard Jets fan since Parcell era. I agree with you on Wilson and Saleh. We are going to surprise a lot of ppl this year. Been a while since I've been this excited for a Jets season.

Exciting time! Just got done sleep training my toddler, ended up hiring someone to help us. If you end up struggling with sleep drop me a PM and I'll share the resources the consultant gave us. GL!

i've never heard of anyone needing a sleep trainer for a child. my uninformed assumption would be that it was needed due to laziness on the parents' part. why'd you feel the need to hire one?

They're pretty common, a lot of people we know swear by them. Since the parents do all the work I can assure you it wasn't laziness.

I’ve been a fan since around 2000 (beginning of Pennington era). To be honest, first 10 years were fine we would make the playoffs every other year pretty much. It’s the last 10 years where they’ve been pretty much a dumpster fire.

QB most important position in sports so if Wilson is the real deal and Saleh too (just please manage the game well, 95% of NFL coaches need an analytics class) and I think the future is bright

Appreciate that, I def will. Hoping genetics play some sort of role as both me and my wife were big sleepers as babies

I was a leash baby tbh hahaha

Took a weekend trip to the shore with my parents and wife, was a good relaxing time.

Today we did our second embryo transfer, so we’ll find out about a possible baby #2 in 10 days. Pretty big flip so gl to us

I'm not American, and I'd never heard of it either until I had a kid.

Ida Hits Hard

Past week, was mostly getting back to the grind hard. Hit the gym and then get about 6 hours of play in during the day. Did a pretty good job with this and had a very much needed big financial week (Eth and Draftkings are my biggest investments)

Unfortunately, I live right outside NYC so when I woke up on Thursday morning this is what I saw...

Garage and basement flooded and unfortunately we had a bunch of baby stuff down there so few things got destroyed but that took up a ton of the day and the house still smells kinda funky.

Thankfully, no serious damage and no one in the neighborhood got hurt.

Other than that, I figured I better have a little fun before the baby so I manage to get some great seats to the Jets-Pats (1st section 40 yd line, and we are only 15 mins from the stadium) game on the 19th.

Really hoping the Jets can pull off Week 1 so I can pretend I'm 21 again and tailgate like I'm back in college

I'm curious why you like Draftkings? 24b market cap with estimates for 2021 of 1.3 in sales, negative ebitda of 500m+ this year, 1.1b loss in net income. Seems insanely priced for a mediocre business that has only lit money on fire and shows no sign of slowing, and at these prices really does not have much upside. What am I missing?

I'm bullish on the gambling sector in general. I am betting that DK will be the bonafide leader in the market; I'm also counting on the continued legislation on states allowing sportsbetting.

DK seems hellbent on spending all the money on Marketing and customer acquisitions. I don't think they'll be profitable for a few years but I think it's a good long term play.

AKA I like the stock.

Also it's my retirement account so if it tanks it mentally doesn't hurt as much

Go bills. Was fun getting some hands in with the 2/5 regs at PokerStars this past few weeks when I was in town for work. Which site would you say has the best online 2/5 games in nj?

Tough week for us. At halftime of the Jets game I had serious conversations with my wife if I wanted to bring my daughter up as a Jets game.

Yes, I recognized the name hope you enjoyed it.

They're all pretty similar as far as skill level imo, Stars probably has the least action though.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Our surrogacy transfer for the 2nd baby unfortunately didn't work. Tough scenes overall.

I also woke up Monday feeling like I got hit by a truck. Got tested for Covid; turned out negative but still feeling very shitty overall.

So tough week overall but no days off. Went heavier on low intensity gym stuff and longer meditation to combat.

Hopefully poker results can pump this week
