Appreciate that man! Glad we both got a piece of Gaz on his inevitable march to glory.

------------------------------------------------------------------------.

I missed the Main for the first time in the past 3 years as I have a family wedding today. It's on my Indian side so it's actually a 4 day ordeal. I also got to be home for Independence day for literally the first time since I've played poker full time which was awesome.

I am hitting my first downswing of the year (which is really a credit to how smoothly I've run this year) but life is treating me well for sure.

I close on my house next month and sort out last of the bills for wedding and then start the rebuild one more time. Once it's all sorted I'll def share pictures, but really has all the necessities I need and I get an office for poker which will be great.

GL at the tables everyone

We are moving into an apartment in September and I got an extra bedroom for my poker office as well, pretty stoked. I think it can be super positive for putting in more dedicated hours.

Indian Weddings are the real deal, I did ~10 of them last year at the hotel.

Congrats on closing on the house!

Big +1 on the office, I have never had a seperate dedicated space to just poker and I think it will have a tremendous affect on my success. You are already crushing as well, so will see how much more it helps

Will talk about this in update tonight, but yes had an absolute blast.

Poker wise you are probably making the better choice staying home ofc, but yeah the fun you have probably makes it worth it!

Wish Granted. Had a much needed 6k day mostly from tourney bink.

Week 27: 7/1-7/7

Hours of Yoga: 0

Hours of Meditation: 0

Hours dedicated to Poker: 19.12 hours Yearly Goal: 807.71/2200

19 hours looks bad but only got 3 days of work in with 4th of July and then gone Friday- Sunday for my cousins wedding.

Getting Back Into Habits

Starting off this year, I made an extreme effort to start implementing good habits. This included going to the gym, being consistent with meditation, and putting in a good work ethic towards poker.

While I don't think my work ethic has been poor, I think my inability to adjust to the obstacles in life (IVF,House,Wedding) have led to to these habits I've been building to erode.

Ironically, this started when we got my engagement photos and I noticed...(holy **** I'm getting fat.) A lot of the pictures were very unflattering and it's obvious. I have not really been going the past 2.5 months!

Since I've been back, I've followed a fitness program and have gone to the gym 8 out of the past 11 days. I'm currently 212 lbs and have a decent amount of muscle to work around just need to trim a bit of fat and get the energy levels booming.

Indian Wedding

For those who didn't know. I'm half Indian (although I don't look like it); and one of my cousins was getting married in a traditional Hindi ceremony.

The first event (Friday Night) was a Sangeet. Which is basically an event before the wedding with a lot of music and dancing. Me and my wife had no prior Indian clothing but thankfully my older cousins let us use some of their hand me downs.

Next, is the henna or Mendey, which we did on Saturday morning at the family's house. Where the women get henna written on them, it's a much more casual affair with mostly just family attending.

On Sunday was the actual wedding ceremony. Before that begins, a tradition called the Baraat starts where the groom rides a horse and his entire side marches and dances all the way to the brides side (sometimes this takes miles)

We actually did this and it was a lot of fun.

After this it leads to the wedding ceremony, which is a bit longer than your traditional wedding ceremony.

After that we had a lunch, before heading to the reception later that night for more dancing and food.

Me and my dad before the wedding ceremony

Wife rocking a Saree

Bride and Groom with traditional outfit

Scenes from the Baraat before the wedding

All in all was an absolute blast; and of course nice to see my family on that side (had family fly from multiple different continents)

If villain has no bluffs and isn't value betting AK here, we should fold. Also he is probably flatting AK here majority of the time given stack depth, positions, and playing history

Wait til you see this week's hands

Not really an update, but very happy with my play the past few nights. I put in a ton of work the past few nights working on some coachings and doing general solver work.

All it took was an extremely long BE stretch to really put in some good study, but have been rewarded with a nice +13k stretch over 3 days, hopefully it may continue.

I've also been jumping around putting in work with PLO and my tourney game. Just have had a big itch to get better at these things so we'll see. I also impulse bought $1700 of Petrangelo's Upswing courses so hopefully that will be $ well spent.

Have a huge online Sunday coming up and then will be playing Summer open Championship following week at Borgata

Week 28: 7/8-7/14

1.) 1h of meditation Yearly Goal: 9.87/50

2.) 0h of Yoga Yearly Goal: 4.74/60

3.) 47.71 hours dedicated to Poker Yearly Goal: 855.42

Probably my best work week of the year as far as getting a lot done between life and poker. I got solid volume in a long with great off the table work and got some work in on the following topics

-Adjustment on some preflop ranges (NLH)
- Bvb work with PIO
-PLOLOLOL
-Preflop tournament ranges (by far most tedious)

So yeah quite happy with how this week in addition to some strong results (although I did lose 2.75 buyins at 2k in a span of 5 mins!)

Otherwise not much to report. We just sent our save the dates out for our wedding. I have a minor surgical procedure on the 23rd, but besides that going to enjoy a bit of the summer before we close on our house in a few weeks and move in early October.

Cool thread, enjoy the mix of poker + real life stuff. What's the thought process behind hand 5? We need villain to be betting turn way too often with AQ, QT and flush draws right? You have that read on population/villain? If you don't wanna share, no worries. Glgl

Would probably play it same vs most people having the AJ w non FD suits. I imagine this and other AJ w non FD suits would wanna shove some of the time. Denying Equity vs large turn sizing with this hand seemed slightly better than calling (although calling is fine too ofc). Would shove some KQ combos as well on turn

Week 29: 7/15-7/21 "Perfect Week"

1.) 1.5h of meditation Yearly Goal: 11.37/50

2.) .5h of Yoga Yearly Goal: 5.24/60

3.) 41.28 hours dedicated to Poker Yearly Goal: 896.70/2200

Very sick week. I added +13 buyins on my untracked stuff for probably the biggest winning week I've ever had as far as BB. I've had 2 weeks that were higher but mostly from mixing in HS. All in all you can never really complain about big winning weeks.

It was a mixture of running very well and just playing at a high level pretty much everytime I sat down.

On top of the poker success, I coached 10 hours on the side and did about 5 hours of just review with some other good players + went to the gym to get rid of the dad bod and had another solid week of meditation.

Despite the massive week, and very good month (as of now) going to be tough to make money as I'm putting down the last 55k for our house down til it's officially ours.

In the meantime, I have a busy week ahead that will probably limit the amount of poker (which is unfortunate since I'm just hitting my stride) and will need you guys to pray for OP very much going forward

Surgery on my you know what

I posted about this awhile ago (Holy ****, just looked and it was february.) but

Spoiler:
I still need to get my d*ck fixed

Now you're probably wondering why on earth that's not the first thing I've tried to do, but basically my old insurance would of cost way too much $ to do it, once I got on my wife's insurance I was off to Vegas. When I got back home from Vegas I had to schedule another appointment (takes 3 weeks to see a Urologist, no joke) and then another 3 weeks for the surgery.

Anyway, my surgery is Tuesday and my doctor (who's a bit of a prick tbh) told me it's gonna hurt quite a bit (not shocking)

Anyway God be with me.

As long as I'm not mangled after I have to go shopping for tuxedos for the wedding, and then have another wedding friday night. I've been really enjoying the grind so I'm a little sad I won't get as much time in as I'd want but what can you do.

Some Extreme Hands of the week:

1.) *TOURNEY HAND Going for the god's line call vs reg. I'm also unsure if I'm less incentivized to x/r these combo's at this stack depth, think sub 100bb poker is quite interesting
