Think consistent updates will stop pretty soon since I've accomplished what I've wanted to since starting this blog. Not sure I'm an endboss but I'm def winning at these higher staked games and am pretty much only playing 500+ now.

Thanks for following along man, yes it's always fun to look back and look at the progress.

Monthly Recap

I actually lost 10k last night, but this month has definitely been a breakout, securing both my biggest pots and biggest month. I of course ran well, but I've noticed a pretty substantial increase in my game the past month or so. I'm thinking about the game at a high level right now and it feels good.

This was the first month where I pretty much just played 500+ and limited myself to 6-7 tables mostly. Despite poor volume (only 28k hands), I played A game for the majority of my hands. I also had a 3 day bender after the circuit event where I grinded about 20 hours of PIO, although I've slacked on studying since then.

I also have started working on my PLO game to OK results, absolutely fun game and I'm finding much more complex than Holdem. I'm definitely looking to put more study time in there for the future as well.

What's Next

As hinted above, I'm not going to do much more continuous posting. One reason, is I'm now playing against players who are very good and giving them insight into how I play is definitely not +EV. I also don't want people to get a good idea of my financial situation.

That being said, I'm not ending the blog it's just more of a hiatus where I won't know if my next post will be in 5 days or 3 months. I will also let everyone know when I'm doing a stream/podcast with BTS, maybe some Vegas excapades, or maybe I run deep in the Main and have everyone sweat.

Summation

I think a few pages of posts ago, I said I don't think I'm very good at poker. I do think I'm a strong player now, but I've learned how relative skill is in poker. I also know how good the best of the best are and I'm nowhere close to that skill level yet, but it's a good goal to work towards.

Through the course of both my blogs, I've gone from Poker Pro wanna-be to microstakes grinder to struggling reg to broke to mildy successful to successful and it's been a journey I have really enjoyed. Want to thank everyone for their posts and words of encouragement throughout the year, they've been incredibly helpful.

Good stuff m8, glad to see another decent March for the good guys. Hope you continue posting in here, even if it's much less HHs.

All the best!

Thanks guys, actually didn't see this til now.

To be honest, I didn't expect to update this blog against so quickly but a lot has changed and this blog has always been a really good avenue for me to vent/brag/discuss etc. while also showing some of the ups and downs.

But since my last post where I closed out a career best March, April has been the complete opposite.

Hitting a 37k downswing over a little over a two-week down period has been extremely brutal. I've lost close to half my poker roll in a span of 2 weeks. I've had 1 small winning day sandwiched in between 9 straight 4 figure losing days.

I don't want to sound like I'm blaming it on variance, because my play has deteriorated as the downswing has progressed. I wouldn't say I'm playing horrendous but I've had a few WTF plays.

On the one side of things, I've usually had a strong urge to study hard during a downswing and that's been completely replaced by a somewhat lethargic feeling. I have a few HH review set up next week with some good players so hopefully I can get back on the wagon soon.

Anyway, I hope this whole post didn't sound too whine, it's fairly therapeutic to me and if anyone has any recommendations for increased productivitity and motivation I'd love to hear it.

Quick shoutout to Bena for some A+ Mental advice as well as my buddy Sean.

GL at the tables everyone.

Dammit why can't it ever just be easy?! The sickest players' career-long graphs always have some nasty looking downswings in them though, and I believe we're still relatively quite early in your career, and obviously you know it'll swing back. I can really relate to those lethargic feelings during downswings, but the feeling of putting your head down and working through them only to find the next upswing is so so good. Good luck man, keep working hard like you always do!

Yikes, hopefully some bzzzt sooner rather than later.

It's tempting to suggest walking away for a few days. Don't think anyone's brain has a chance of functioning well enough to play or review properly once you go into shell shock mode.

Gl, it's been fun following this!

Yeah for sure, just part of the process. Most of losses is just at higher stakes so EV isnt too bad. I was on the other side of the coin last month, so take the good with the bad.

Yeah I ended up taking Sat/Sunday off (although I was sick Sunday so that was more of necessity) and played short session where I managed a win (felt fantastic)

Yeah we good Thank you dude!

----------------------

Yeah so past few days have been nice kinda just taking it easy and going over a ton of NLH stuff. Did a HH review with one of the other BTS coaches, where we went over some of his 500z and some of my marked hands. Always very helpful to have another strong player look at stuff to get a fresh perspective.

I noticed that I've had some previous leaks come unplugged so it was nice to work that out. Most of my time this month has actually been spent working on PLO or working on my tourney game so it was nice to get some cash work in.

Other than that, going to play the Borgata main for the 1st time next week and after that we're into May and I get to play against some Vegas regs which should be fun

Wrapping up this month, went from down 37k to about 22k during the downswing so fairly happy overall, played decent.

This will be my biggest losing month ever unless...

-Made Day 2 of NJSCOOP Main, in for 5 bullets but with 66k up top (including plat. pass for 1st) and 57 left we are going for it #ICMisfakenews

- Played 28 days, 24 of those days I was +/- $1,000. Fairly used to the swings now.

-Broke even playing NLH, lost heaps playing PLO but I'm trying to learn so will chalk it up to an expensive lesson

-Have vacation to Bermuda in May 26th so ready to grind super hard before hand and then Vegas shortly afterwards.

Hoping for a deep run tonight. GL all
