Already a bit below pace unfortunately so big day tomorrow. Had to stop grinding cash to focus on a deep run in one of the few tournies I played.

Update

Well behind pace on EVbb and decent amount behind volume, also getting extreme negative variance.

No real hands of interest and don't want to post coolers/badbeats.

Going to find a way to win this bet though, somewayyy somehow.

Look on the bright side, you are crushing 5NL for 140bb/100

If the bet is pre-rakeback, I'd recommend you max out 100 and 200 NL on Borgata and cherry pick the best 500NL tables on 888/WSOP/Borg/PS. Borgata has the lowest rakeback and thus softer tables.

Also check out Pala. The software is trash and very few 100NL runs, but when it does you can easily get 10bb/100.

Yeah been mostly doing this but most of the games are running on Stars especially during the day so id say volume split has been 55/35/10 between Stars/Borg/WSOP. WSOP has been very dead unfortunately.

In honesty, I'm more worried about the volume at the moment then the EV, if I get a kick up on volume I think I will definitely shift to 100/200 with a bit more table selecting.
---------------------------------------

I was really frustrated last night, I had to stop my session 3 times early just cause I felt tilt coming and I'm really not a big tilt guy, after a goods nights sleep I feel much better.

Some, quick honest thoughts:

-I feel victimized at 500/1k. I feel like I run worse than possible at these stakes. I think people have inherent biases about these kinds of things though and I might be one of them.

-I don't think I'm good at poker, in the grand scheme of things. But I'm improving faster than the population by a good deal.

-I haven't had a winning day this month (5 straight losing days), the worst I had this year was 4 days once. Perhaps this has led to tilt which has led to some spew.

Thanks! I wouldn't put much stock in a 20k hand graph and i expect it will look drastically different near the end, I re-evaluated some hands. I played some very poorly but main reason for downswing is tons of coolers

I would say one of my strengths (especially when I play well is really reading how people play their ranges.) Plus people don't like calling overbets

6th straight losing day... by $11. So I'll accept it. Played much, much better. Some hiccups but overall made life hell for a lot of players because I still can't make any hands/keep getting coolered.

Not a redline warrior by any means but my money won at showdown is negative through over 25k hands which is a bit nuts for me.

Ok finally some hands...

1.) I know villain and he said river was too thin I obviously disagreed and was punished.

The losing streak is over at 6 days! Hurrah

Much better...played even better than yday with some solid stretches of A game. EV is still slightly screwed due to my horrendous run at 200, can't remember if I've ever been coolered this much. Normally, I wouldn't care too much but with the bet, every bit of EV matters and set ups don't help.

Had a few interesting hands.

niiice day.

JJ would 3b the flop. your equity isn't great vs two hands on this texture. Also when people do have 2p/set and turn invariably comes a bad card card for their range, they can play perfectly. Just juice the flop (i like the flop check tho fwiw)

56cc lead bigger ott or check raise. in a spot where a lot of villain gets to turn with 100% of his range (this might not be gto, but certainly reality for the most part) you don't necessarily wanna be leading. Leading is generally in a spot where turns gives you an advantage, not a neutral card (which this card may well be given my cbet comment)

J9 just call river.

keep it up!

Appreciate the insight very much and can def agree with the JJ now, think it's ingrained in my head to not 3bet top set.

With the 56cc I don't want to get too much into specifics but it's just a range play for the most part. I agree that given his 1/3rd sizing the card is a bit more neutral but still favors me a bit more overall.

Yeah think the J9 was a mistake def fine call think I focused on villain overfolding river

This bet is getting a bit sweatier and I think volume is the toughest part atm.

Poker and Studying

The heater has continued and I'm now over 4EVbb approaching 50k hands. I'm playing a ton of poker and it's a grind but I'm loving it and having fun.

One downside is I haven't really done much studying, done basic review, no PIO work at all, and like 2 sweats with a friend. Thankfully, have coaching on Thursday and these sessions have been a godsend lately so looking forward to that.

Real Life

I'm moving into my new place on Friday (which will subsequently be my first day off of the month) with my girlfriend. It's a really nice play right on the water looking onto NYC. I feel extremely blessed that I get do something I love and live a decent enough lifestyle (hopefully baller one day tho!).

Also first time living with a girl so that shall be fun as well, I can be a bit of mess so hopefully the woman is prepared.

Prop Bet

I'm really glad I booked this bet, win or lose. I'm feeling very motivated with Poker and I think long term will help me crank out more volume on a per month basis.

That being said... I've played everyday essentially (had two days cut short due to stuff popping up) and I'm still behind the 150k hand pace by about 20k so I'll have to figure out best how to manage this problem. Unfortunately, midstake tables don't really run til night so may have to just mass multi table 100 at night during the last week or something.

Regardless, it's something to watch for.

A third of the way there...

So I upswinged pretty hard past week or so and have had some fortunate runouts for sure but also have been playing my best which is really pleasing, nice to see a lot of off the table work showing profit on the tables.

I just moved into my new apartment today so pretty much had no time to play but very happy as it's a really beautiful area and I get a nice view of the NYC skyline.

Obviously to win this bet I'm going to need to put it to overdrive as far as volume... to be honest I never thought the EV would be difficult I think if I can get to about 100k hands by the 24th I have a shot.
